- | Demons are a strange race. Originally from Hell, demons are infamous for being slackers with potentially great power within them.
+ | Name: Hadriel
- | When God died and Lucifer very shortly afterwards left on "vacation", demons were kind of left without much of a purpose. Yeah, they hadn't done much before, but man, the piles of nothing to do were just mounting up. So, over the last 150 years, they've slowly been making the migration up to Midland.
+ | Race: Demon
Time since leaving hell: Never been |
- | An uncommon sight among the settled races of Midland, demons are much easier to get along with than angels. Demons understand the middle races much easier as most of them once were mortals too, and are typically quite drywitted and funny. Demons as a whole are found almost everywhere in Midland, as no actual civilisation or society exists among them.
+ | Appearance: Tall, handsome, wine-red
Hadriel stands at about six feet tall and has a layer of supple muscle on every part of his body. His every step seems to accentuate some tone in his body, whether it be in his glutes, his thighs, or his abdomen. He has skin the same color as wine, and is perfumed to match. His eyes are like rich honey, and his pointed ears lead to his just-sharp-enough jawline. His ink-colored hair, soft as feathers, rests in a soft, short style atop his head. |
- | Demons take the appearance of unusually attractive humans with grey, black, dark blue or dark red skintones. Spade tails and small horns on the forehead are common on demons, and some even have hoofed feet (with female hoofed demons having natural high heels.) There are very, very few ugly demons.
+ | His spaded tail snakes about like an extra hand, investigating things nearby as well as emoting along with Hadriel. His teeth are just sharp enough to pierce the skin, but are hidden behind his lips, like rows of porcelain nestled behind rose petals.
He has a large, sleeve tattoo on his left side. It depicts his blade and shield on his bicep, with chains of ivy that become a wreath of roses around his neck. Olive branches curl out and down his chest, with the two doves resting on his left pectoral. |
- | Demons come with an innate bonus to their physical strength and are flame retardant, but suffer in the presence of silver and some holy symbols.
+ | His armor is old, but worn well. The dusty metal almost brings out a sort of rustic charm from the face of the demon. The pauldrons and helm were once molded to each look like the face of a lion, but only the helm has retained that regal splendor. A wreath of fur rests on the gourget of the armor, white like the moon.
- | Special demons exist out there; Lords of Hell once held important positions under the Devil, with relevant abilities, but now mostly try to live a normal life on Midland.
+ | His shield bears a long worn crest, hardly identifiable. However, with a careful hand and several layers of paint, a wreath of roses has been painted around where the crest once was, connected by a chain of ivy.

Backstory |
Hadriel's parents abandoned him just as he was born. Found on the doorstep of one of Aelia's churches, he was taken in to be cared for until a new pair of parents appeared to adopt him. |
He was never chosen, but was diligent in his studies of scripture. He studied every day and every night, until one day, an elder in the church, Gabriel, took him under his wing. The two went out into the countryside, travelling with the wind and helping those in need. They performed mostly physical labor, helping fell trees or plant crops. |
However, one day a town was under siege by a massive creature, with skin like rotted bark and eyes that seemed to creep out of its skull. With one mighty lurch of its grotesque limbs, it threw Gabriel from the trail they were travelling on, and into the canyons below. It took everything Hadriel had to slay the beast, and then even more to find Gabriel's body. |
When Hadriel eventually found him, pierced on an outcropping of rocks, he took his mentor's armor, sword, and shield, and pledged to carry on Gabriel's good mission. After burying Gabriel, he returned home, to further hone his skills to ensure those beasts would be much less than pests in the future. |
When called upon by the nobles seeking him, he saw it as the perfect opportunity to give tithes to his church.
