  2.
  3. (20:02:55) Suffering. It had been a while since the paladin had been in the arena, or on the island entirely. However Ezekiel had found his way back to Guildereim, and as such it seemed natural to put his name back into the fight rota and see if he was able to be scheduled for a fight. Once his name was called the aasimar made his way to the gladiator tack room, donning his armour, his peculiar emerald-coloured long sword almost always by his side. Once he had prepared Zeke made his way up the stairs that emerged from the mouth of the portcullis, into the sandy pits to prepare for the arrival of his opponent.
  4.
  5. (20:13:02) Regret didn't make her opponent wait too long. It was Elke- and she was chronologically late, even if she was trying to be better about it. She was dressed in fine black and gold leather armor, with her hair pulled back to keep it out of the way. "Even'n!" She greeted the paladin, pulling out her dagger to stand at ready. The rat had a horrible, large grin on her face as she bounced on her heels, eager for some blood sport.
  6.
  7. (20:19:15) Suffering, having not met the rodent before, offered her an acknowledging nod of his head as she greeted him. "Good evening. And good luck." Spoken more as an offer of good will as Elke warmed up by bouncing on her feet. Once it was apparent that she was ready to go Zeke did not waste any time in stepping immediately into close quarters, long sword slashing in a diagonal manner top to bottom, looking to try and catch the Guard on the shoulder with the strike.
  8.
  9. (20:24:59) Regret should have been ready to spring out of the way when her opponent came at her. She began to move- but it was too late and his blade slashed across her shoulder making the rat give a squeak that sounded like it belonged to a much smaller rodent. However, she didn't let that stall her for too long, moving up close to try to stab the man in the side with her knife.
  10.
  11. (20:32:26) Suffering, though in the apex of his swing, was able to catch Elke's movements and back step in time to avoid the stab from the knife. Almost like a dance he kept in rhythm and stepped back into close quarters fluidly, this time looking to slash down towards one thigh with his sword, hoping to slow her down a bit.
  12.
  13. (20:39:20) Regret had been expecting the man to move slower, all things considered. However he was able to navigate around her attack, and issue one of his own. Another nasty blow that made the rat give an angry cry and stumble. "Fucks sake." She growled under her breath. Really- Elke wasn't mad at HIM. She was just mad! It hurt! The rat snarled, before charging foreword , angling her blade up to try to spitefully slash at his face.
  14.
  15. (20:47:30) Suffering. It was indeed quite a strange phenomenon, to see a man in full plate armour be able to move so gracefully and seemingly without restriction. Perhaps he was so experienced with wearing it that it had become like a second skin to him, or perhaps there was another, more preternatural reason for his mobility. As the knife was stabbed upwards towards his face Zeke jerked his head backwards, just narrowly avoiding the strike (and perhaps getting a little bit of a shave with it), exhaling a hard breath at the barely avoided hit. With Elke so close to him it was difficult to get a good swing with his long sword, thus Zeke opted to rock his head forward in an attempt to connect his skull with the Guard's forehead to force her to back away, hit or miss.
  16.
  17. (20:58:50) Regret swore again as the man dodged another strike! She was up close and personal, and he kept dodging! The rat didn't mind losing but for the primes sake! However she didn't have time to reflect upon this, because in another moment, the man drew his head back- and smashed it into her skull. She fell back, and perhaps looked like she was out for the count a moment- before she onto her knees, hissing as she aimed a strike at one of his thighs, drawing the knife back again to aim at his hip. [Double]
  18.
  19. (21:12:27) Suffering made the mistake of believing that Elke was down for the count - that gave her the perfect opportunity to get in that sneak attack as she first aimed for his knee, slipping past the plate of his armour and getting a good gouge into the chainmail, fabric and flesh underneath. As it was pulled out there was a decent coating of blood upon its blade and the paladin let out a hiss of both surprise and pain, though before he had a chance to turn and step away from from the rodent that struck him that knife once more found its way in between the slats at his hip, this time finding much more purchase against the flesh beneath it, and as it was pulled free would find a generous arc of blood that came with it. >>
  20. (21:12:36) Suffering. Grunting in pain - and no doubt having a throbbing headache of his own from the headbutt - Zeke looked to first slash at Elke's uninjured shoulder with a similar diagonal cut, before looking to thrust the pointed tip into the hollow of her collar bone, aiming to avoid any arteries. (Double) <<
  21.
  22. (20:25:55) Regret cackled when she FINALLY hit him. She got him good too! But her brief moment of spiteful victory didn't last long before the man had once again turned his blade against her, wounding her. Yeah. No. Even as sturdy as Elke was she couldn't keep going after that. The rat collapsed in the sand, clutching at her wounds.
  23.
  24. (21:50:18) Caesius was beaming with his excitement of his completed task having given the heart to Mwenye. Now set off towards the arena boiling with determined energy that he would fight and possibly catch the baboon Chupraki's interest. However a bit disappointed to find the ring already occupied, but no matter. He could still observe and perhaps take some of information about both the opponents. A paladin and a rat fought below in the pit. His sharp ember eyes studying as they sliced each other. He awaited for a victor to emerge.
  25.
  26. (21:52:46) Persephone had been a silent spectator of the brawl, having dragged Caesius out to perhaps give him an opportunity to see how others faired in the arena. "I hope you've learned something from their fight today." She stated to her Chupakri, regarding the unconscious rat with a small frown. A hint of concern perhaps for the spitfire of a guard. "We will work on your next match, hopefully you will be victorious in a one on one skirmish." She mused softly, moving to stand, "Perhaps your Mwenye would like to hear of this skirmish." A hand would move to gently pat his shoulder. "I believe it is over. Come let us discuss more of this while we walk." The reaper leading the way and expecting Caesius to follow.
  27.
  28. (22:03:25) Caesius nodded in agreement towards Perse. "Yes it was a good fight." Though looking down at his own mangled arm from the beast hunt the other day...he thought twice about entering into the ring himself. "Hmm...perhaps I'll rest up some more before getting back in the ring." But she did have a point. The merchant would likely want to hear about the story of this fight and so he let Perse lead the way to go tell him all about it. -e-
