  1. Health
  2. Health is determined by a player's armor strength, durability, etc. It is also related to the physical Legionairre himself. If he were
  3. hit by radiation that Bremmstralunghed his suit for instance, he would be severely injured with minimal armor damage. Heavier armor results in much more
  4. mass but compared to today's standards, the armor used is nigh-inpregnable. For instance, even light armor is able to survive multiple shots from a .50
  5. caliber gatling gun. Not only that, but the armor is in fact quite light for its strength. 75 kilograms for both the Legionairre and the armor means two
  6. things as that means I weigh more than an Outrider with armor: the Legionairre is very short/thin and the armor is very light. Let's presume that the
  7. Legionairre himself weighs around 140 pounds. That only leaves 25 pounds for the armor itself. There is an alternative to this, but we'll touch on that
  8. in a bit.
  9. Regeneration presumably is from nanites nested in the suit and living inside the Legionairre. When damage is dealt to either, they immediately set
  10. to work repairing both the human and the suit. Because nanites themselves are expensive to produce despite their ability to replicate, nanites will not
  11. flood the damaged area until a minimum time has expired, lest the nanites themselves become damaged, resulting in fewer nanites in the future or worse:
  12. dysfunctional nanites. Regeneration is only able to occur while on the ground due to the necessity of reaction mass to convert into armor "scabs" which
  13. will be later replaced with new components or repaired more thoroughly at a repair station where proper reaction mass is available.
  14.
  15. Energy
  16. A player's energy bar is simply a graphical representation of their current antimatter load. Within the pack of each player is a small fusion
  17. reactor which slowly produces energy which is used to create the antimatter. Due to size and weight constraints on the electromagnets holding the
  18. antimatter in place, only a few hundred micrograms can be stored at a given time, though the energy stored within that is still enourmous. This energy is
  19. burned for uses such as cores, jets, and weapons. Antimatter is stored in the form of Anti-Neutronium due to its status as the densest "stable" storage
  20. medium for energy. Upon death of a Legionairre, the electromagnets containing the Anti-Neutronium deactivate and it annihilates with its containment unit.
  21.
  22. Repulsors (Skis)
  23. Integral to the behavior of Legionairres in combat are the coils found on all armor types. They do this by warping space-time around them in such
  24. a way as to funnel Dark Matter through them. This allows them to function even in space without any need for propellant as they are effectively using the
  25. "atmosphere" of vacuum itself. One can presume then that thrust would drastically decrease in intergalactic space, though at such locations, alternative
  26. methods such as Alcubierre drives would obviously be used instead. At minimum power, they provide enough thrust to push off a solid surface and remain
  27. aloft at a short distance. This distance is limited by the necessity of using the planet's surface as part of the funnel to prevent backdraft of Dark
  28. Matter through the repulsor coils.
  29. When at greater heights, additional energy supplied by the annihilation of the user's antimatter reserves. Because this is ultimately a
  30. "conventional" thrust engine (though it admitedly does work with a very exotic medium), the force necessary to move a larger object is proportional to its
  31. mass. This is in part why heavier armors must rely on more coils and accelerate more slowly. Unlike gravity distortion which would result in acceleration
  32. irregardless of mass, mass is actually a factor here.
  33. Also of note is the fact that the distortions left by coils required to capture the Dark Matter result in minor and temporary disturbances in
  34. space-time. Space-time will utlimately seal itself and due to the time dilation related to healing process, passing through it directly is actually
  35. impossible as any particles attempting to enter it will instead be redirected around it, meaning that literally walking into a distortion trail is entirely
  36. harmless under most conditions. Radiation is emitted as the wound in the Universe seals, though this fades as the distortion is repaired.
