Ghost Sweeper Mikami (PC Engine CD) - full guide + extras

					INTRO

This is a simple game, in the typical Japanese adventure genre.
Meaning the story is advanced mostly by selecting simple commands and directing them towards the appropriate items or persons.
This game is very simple even on that regard.
Mainly you will have three commands:

look -> 見る
think -> 考える
item ->アイテム


					CHARACTERS

If you're not accustomed to the manga/anime Ghost Sweeper Mikami, these short blurbs will be useful to understand the character dynamics, the plot and to recognize the character names in-game.
The names are mostly presented on the Japanese basis of last name first, first name second (Mikami's first name is Reiko).

Mikami Reiko 		美神 令子
Top-level Ghost Sweeper, likes money, pays Yokoshima 200yen/hour (less than 2$).

Yokoshima Tadao 	横島 忠夫
Initially just a pervert, real protagonist of the franchise, works for Mikami because she's hot.

Okinu				おキヌ
A gentle ghost girl rescued in the first episode. Joins the agency and Mikami pays her 5yen/hour.

Rokudō Meiko 		六道 冥子
Ditzy shikigami (summoned monsters) user from a rich family. She's the only person who can control more than 1. If she cries, the shikigami lose control.

Emi Ogasawara 		小笠原 エミ
Mikami's rival in ghost sweeping. Voodoo practicioner. She enlists Tiger and other military guys to function as meat shields as she does her voodoo dance.

Tiger Torakichi 	タイガー 寅吉
Strong, big guy with tiger marks on his face. Emi's employee. Becomes best friends with Yokoshima.

Yakuchin			厄珍
Small old pervert who runs a store filled with all sorts of weird antiques that are useful to ghost sweepers.

Doctor Chaos		ドクター・カオス
Used to be a genius in medieval times, made inventions and even a robot; studied magic and somehow managed to live hundreds of years, but now he's too old so he's an idiot. Created Maria and Teresa.

Maria				マリア
Doctor Chaos' loyal robot servant. She is very powerful and typically immune to magic. She will say "yes" and call people "miss" or "sir".

The landlord 		大家
The scary landlord woman of the place where Doctor Chaos and Maria live... She wants her rent payed in time.

Teresa				テレサ
Another robot created by Doctor Chaos; based on Maria's blueprint but with modern technology.

Medusa				メドゥーサ
Main villain early on, she's the evil snake goddess opposed to Shoryuki

Shōryūki			小竜姫
The good dragon goddess from above, she can battle Medusa and would later train the main party.


					THE GUIDE

While it's very easy to advance and clear the game with no knowledge or Japanese skills, this guide will get you all the content, meaning you will be able to max out Yokoshima's lust meter in all three reports, unlocking a few extra scenes.
Each number# represents the increments of the lust meter you can achieve.

					REPORT 1: NIGHTMARE


	1# When Meiko(冥子) cries, look(見る) at Meiko
	2# In front of hospital bed, look at Mikami (美神)
	3# When Mikami faints, look at her
	4# 4th bump should happen organically while Yokoshima and Okinu are looking at Meiko by talking to her, Yokoshima will try to kiss Mikami again
	5# Enter the 4th dream door
- Mandatory doors: 4 for the lust meter; last one
	6# Once at the end of the dream doors, think(考える)
	7# should happen organically as Nightmare gives you an illusion
	8# Once Mikami is back, tear-eyed Yokoshima is wondering if it's the real Mikami: think here



					REPORT 2: THE MANNEQUIN


- On the map, go to yakuchindo (southwest) store first:
buy the see-through camera(カメラ) and the hand(手)
- Go Northeast to find Emi(エミ) (palm tree house)
	1# at Emi's, immediately use the hand you bought
- Go back to the office (southeast) to continue the plot
	2# When Mikami is about to kiss, think twice
- Go to clothing store northeast
	3# Happens organically at this point
	4# Happens organically
	5# Happens organically
	6# Use the camera
- Go back to Yakuchin(厄珍) (southwest) and exchange the photos for the Special
- Unnecessary, but go to the bottom right for Yokoshima's apartment scene (right to the blue roof building)
- Go to the white department store (has ads on it for "motteke drop") to advance the plot
	7# Immediately look at Mikami
	8# Happens organically once Mikami scares you
	9# Talk to Mikami



					REPORT 3: GREATEST DECISIVE BATTLE IN HISTORY


	1# After the closeup of Teresa's photo (テレサ), talk to Chaos(カオス) then to Mikami
- Go to Yakuchindo: buy the camera and the teleportation device (name with lots of kanji)
- Go to Emi's house (palm trees)
	2# Use the camera
- Go back to Yakuchindo and exchange the photos for the Manjuu (まんじゅう), a steamed bun
- Go to the bathhouse (southeast)
	3# Use the teleportation device immediately
- Go to Yokoshima's apartment (blue building bottom right, next to the blue roof one)
	4# Happens organically
	5# Use the manjuu
- Go to the purple warehouse at the top left to advance the plot
	6# Look at Chaos then keep talking to Mikami
- Go to the office (destroyed building) to advance the plot
	7# Happens organically after the Medusa battle
	8# Happens organically with Shoryu



					THE BATTLE SYSTEM

Every turn, you and the opponent each draw 5 cards and pick one to play. Then you compare the two played cards to determine what happens next.

These are the 3 basic attack cards:

- Occult (邪魔)
- Break (破魔)
- Seal (封魔)

The basic attacks work on a rock-paper-scissors basis --- Occult beats Break, Break beats Seal, and Seal beats Occult. The side that is beaten takes damage, and the other side takes none. If there is a tie, both sides take minor damage.

These are the special move cards:

Special Attack (必殺): Beats all 3 basic attacks, and deals extra damage to the opponent unless Defend is played.
Defend (防御): Blocks the 3 basic attacks and the Special Attack if any is played against you.
Recover (回復): Heals back HP.
Exchange (交換): Cancels the hand and redraws.
Mystery (謎): Turns into any one of the other cards at random.

The first player down to 0 HP (体) loses.



					EXTRAS

Hidden Visuals & Bonus Mode
Get the item "Special" at Report 2 or 3 at Yakuchindo.
When you press the I button on the payment screen after the ending, a hidden visual appears.
After the line is finished on that screen, you can enjoy the bonus screen by entering
"up, down, up, right, left, select" in that order.
