- This happened a few months back, but I am still moderately embarrassed by it.
- This will be short and sweet. It was a typical laundry day. I was on my last load of laundry and noticed that I was running low on detergent. The detergent I had been using was my absolute favorite - it smelled like HEAVEN and came in a big container, so it always lasted for a while. My memory is not the greatest, so for things I don’t buy often I always take pictures of the labels for my next shopping trip. Per usual, I took a picture of this label to make sure that I could buy the same exact kind at the store later. In doing so, I reread the label and just happened to notice the words “liquid fabric conditioner.” I thought to myself, “huh. What an unnecessarily fancy way to label laundry detergent.” I turned it over. It read, “Step 1: Add detergent. Step 2: Add fabric conditioner.”
- Yes, for the past year, I had been “washing” my clothes with fabric softener. Not detergent. I am not proud.
- TL;DR: For the past year, I have been washing my clothes with fabric softener instead of laundry detergent.
