  1. >what do you think is the ideal length of an old school fps from start to finish in hours?
  2. If we're only talking like Doom, Duke or imitators like Ion Maiden, a few hours, assuming I'm not speedrunning through it and am looking for secrets and taking my time
  3. >do you prefer individual maps or connected maps?
  4. Connected. Be it thematically, like Doom, or like Duke Nukem where the beginnings and endings of levels were often linked.
  5. >do you prefer maps to be more and more longer as you progress in the game?
  6. Yes.
  7. >do you prefer linear maps or maze-like maps with alternative paths?
  8. The latter if I had to choose, but a mix is good.
  9. >do you like objectives in your fps?
  10. Eh.
  11. >do you like platforming in your fps?
  12. Ehhhh.
  13. >do you like puzzles in your fps?
  14. Yes.
  15. >do you like rpg elements in your fps?
  16. Not really.
  17. >do you like story in your fps?
  18. Only to the extent of Doom.
  19. >do you like forced stealth in your fps?
  20. Nah.
  21. >do you like easter eggs?
  22. Yes.
  23. >do you like bossfights?
  24. Yes.
  25. >do you like vehicles in your fps?
  26. They're not necessary.
  27. >do you like on-rails sections in your fps?
  28. No.
  29. >do you like ai escort/protection missions?
  30. Get outta here
  31. >do you like following in your fps?
  32. ???
  33. >do you like enemy waves/defend this area in your fps?
  34. Not really.
  35. >do you prefer slaughtersfests or a normal number of enemies?
  36. Normal numbers.
  37. >do you like six degrees of freedom in your fps?
  38. Yes.
  39. >do you like being pressed by time in some level?
  40. Not really. I prefer finding secrets.
  41. >do you like collectathons?
  42. Probably not in an FPS.
  43. >do you like grinding?
  44. Not in an FPS.
  45. >do you like ai partners in your fps?
  46. Only if they're waifu material.
  47. >do you like underwater levels with skeletons?
  48. Let me tell you, I managed to play Duke Nukem Forever up until the underwater level, at which I said "fuck it I'm out" and never played it again. I don't think skeletons would have helped.
