Pecan Squares

Pecan Squares     13" x 9" pan    375 degrees F

3/4 (= 0.75) cup butter
1 cup sugar (you can do half white and half brown)
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1 egg white
1 cup chopped pecans


1. Cream the butter and sugar
2. Beat in egg yolk and vanilla
3. Stir in flour, blending well
4. Pat mixture evenly in a greased baking pan
5. Brush top with slightly beaten egg white
6. Scatter pecans evenly over the dough, then press them in
7. Bake until golden (~15 minutes)
