  1.
  2. You are John, a patient living in Chicago. You have a hospital bracelet and a pack of bandages. You wake up in an old rundown hospital with no memory of how you got there. You take a look around the room and see that it is very basic: a bed, some medical equipment and a window.
  3.
  4. "Hello?" you say to yourself. "Is anyone here? I don't recognize this place."
  5.
  6. Suddenly, you hear someone call out for help from outside the door. It sounds like...
  7.
  8. >
  9.
  10. A voice. A familiar voice. The one that has been haunting your dreams since you were little.
  11.
  12. "John! Are you alright?! Is everyone okay?!"
  13.
  14. You turn around and see a young woman standing in front of you holding a flashlight.
  15.
  16. >
  17.
  18. She looks so much younger than you do. Her hair is short and she wears glasses. She doesn't seem to notice your presence though; she just keeps on looking at the wall as if she's expecting something to jump out at her from there.
  19.
  20. "I'm fine,"
  21.
  22. > "What is your name again? I lost my memory."
  23.
  24. "My name is Anna, what's yours?"
  25.
  26. "It's Jane..."
  27.
  28. The girl stops her search for something on the wall and turns towards you. She seems to be staring into your eyes intently. This makes you feel uncomfortable. "Jane... What are you doing here?"
  29.
  30. > Stare back into her eyes
  31.
  32. Her gaze is intense and her face shows signs of being scared. It's almost as if she knows that you're not going to answer her question right away. Instead, she continues to stare at you until you finally reply.
  33.
  34. "I was sent here by my father."
  35.
  36. > "I think. I dont really know why i am here or what happened."
  37.
  38. "Well, maybe he told you to come here or something."
  39.
  40. "No! He said he wanted me to stay home because I had a fever and I was having trouble breathing!"
  41.
  42. Anna stares at you for a moment longer before answering.
  43.
  44. >
  45.
  46. "But why would he send you here then? I mean, I thought you were supposed to be staying home with your mother."
  47.
  48. "He didn't want me to get sick and he wanted me to stay home anyway. My father never does anything without reason.
  49.
  50. >
  51.
  52. Besides, I can understand why he would send you here, but why him specifically? Why him and not another doctor or nurse? And why now?"
  53.
  54. "Because he needs help. That's all."
  55.
  56. "How did you find out about this place?"
  57.
  58. "
  59.
  60. > "Can you tell me what this place is? That might help my memory
  61.
  62. "Sure thing."
  63.
  64. Anna takes off her glasses and places them on top of the medicine cabinet. She opens the drawer and pulls out a small notebook. Then she begins to read from it while pointing to things in the room.
  65.
  66. >
  67.
  68. "This is where we keep our records. We also record everything that happens here. When I first came to this hospital, I couldn't remember anything about myself. So I wrote down everything that happened to me in these notes.
  69.
  70. >
  71.
  72. I even tried to make sure that they were organized properly. But after a few days, I started forgetting things. After three weeks, I forgot who I was. By six months, I wasn't even sure if my name was still John anymore."
  73.
  74. "
  75.
  76. > "Wait, i thought my name is John. Aren't you Anna?"
  77.
  78. "Yes, but my real name isn't John either. I've changed it several times over the years."
  79.
  80. "So who are you exactly?
  81.
  82. >
  83.
  84. Where are you from?"
  85.
  86. "I'm from New York City. I lived there most of my life, but I moved away when I was a child."
  87.
  88. "Where did you go?"
  89.
  90. "To live with my grandmother in Maine. She died last year.
  91.
  92. >
  93.
  94. I miss her terribly."
  95.
  96. "Do you miss me too?"
  97.
  98. "Of course I do. Of course I do."
  99.
  100. "Are you married?"
  101.
  102. Anna smiles at your question. "Yes, but we haven't been together long enough yet to get married.
  103.
  104. > Look at my hand for a weeding ring
  105.
  106. "Why don't you wear this instead?"
  107.
  108. Anna hands you a wedding band. "Here, take it." She holds it out to you. You hold onto the ring and smile at her. She gives a slight nod in response and goes back to reading from her book.
  109.
  110. >
  111.
  112. After a minute, Anna speaks again. "When I was little, my grandfather gave me this ring as a birthday present. He said that it belonged to his great-grandfather and that he'd given it to me because I looked like him when he wore it.
  113.
  114. >
  115.
  116. I always wondered how old it was, but I never asked him. Now that I have found you, perhaps I should ask him."
  117.
  118. "That's very kind of you."
  119.
  120. "Thank you. Thank you so much." Anna smiles and hugs you tightly. "
  121.
  122. >
  123.
  124. I love you.
  125.
  126. > "I love you too"
  127.
  128. You kiss Anna on the cheek and leave the room. The door closes behind you and you hear a sigh of relief.
  129.
  130. "She's gone," says a voice from outside. "Goodbye, John."
  131.
  132. > Oh fuck
  133.
  134. You turn around and see a man dressed in black standing next to you. His hair is dark brown and he has a scar running across his left eye. He wears an eyepatch and has two metal braces on each side of his head.
  135.
  136. > "Are you death?"
  137.
  138. "What?"
  139. "Are you death?"
  140. "Who are you?"
  141. "I'm just some guy who lives in the basement. I don't know your name, but I know you're not John."
  142. "Oh...well..." You start to feel uncomfortable.
  143.
  144. > "What do you want?
  145.
  146. "What do you want?"
  147. "What do you want me to do?"
  148. "Go somewhere with you."
  149. "No, no, no! I told you before that I'm not going anywhere with anyone!
  150.
  151. > Leave the man and reenter the room
  152.
  153. You quickly grab your belongings and exit the room. Once inside, you begin to search for any weapons. You find nothing and decide to wait until morning.
  154.
  155. > Exit the room
  156.
  157. The sun is already up when you enter the bathroom. You sit on the toilet and close your eyes. Suddenly, you hear a loud noise coming from upstairs. It sounds like someone has broken into your house through one of the windows and barricaded themselves in the basement.
  158.
  159. > Pretend i didnt hear it and stay in the bathroom
  160.
  161. You remain silent and wait patiently for dawn to come. As the sun rises, you can see that the basement window is now open. You cautiously peek out and see a figure wearing all black clothing standing by the door holding something in its other hand.
  162.
  163. > "Occupado senor"
  164.
  165. You slowly raise your arm and wave at the person. They stop what they're doing and stare at you. "Hello!" You say in Spanish.
  166.
  167. They nod their head slightly and walk towards you, walking past the railing that separates them from the balcony where you're sitting on the toilet.
  168.
  169. > Stare at man
  170.
  171. He stares at you, staring right through you. You can tell he's older than you think. He looks like he could be in his late thirties or early forties, but his face doesn't show any signs of wrinkles. His eyes are still sharp and clear despite the age.
  172.
  173. > "Do you need something? Im kinda in the middle of something"
  174.
  175. "Yeah, well, if you need anything then just let me know."
  176.
  177. He nods his head and walks past you. You sit down on the toilet and wait for dawn to come. When it does, you make yourself breakfast.
  178.
  179. > Eat breakfast on toilet
  180.
  181. You eat breakfast on the toilet. You notice that there isn't a single piece of fruit in sight. You also realize that you've eaten more than you ever did during school lunchtime. This makes you wonder why you were eating so much earlier today.
  182.
  183. > Check my body
  184.
  185. You stand up and go over to the mirror. You examine your body carefully. Your arms and legs are still as muscular as ever, but your stomach seems to be getting larger every day.
  186.
  187. >
  188.
  189. You try to remember if you ate anything yesterday, but you can't recall even thinking about food.
  190.
  191. Your mind wanders back to the night before and how you had sex with Anna. She seemed really nice, so maybe she wanted to sleep together...
  192.
  193. > Finish in bathroom
  194.
  195. You finish your breakfast in the bathroom and return to bed. You lay down and fall asleep immediately.
  196.
  197. When you wake up, you realize that you're hungry again. You look at your watch and realize that it's still morning time. You quickly get dressed and head downstairs.
  198.
  199. > Look for frosted flakes
  200.
  201. You walk along the corridor and eventually reach the kitchen. There's a refrigerator here, but there's no sign of any ice cream. You search the fridge and find a few pieces of frozen cake mix, which you take to be a welcome treat after your hunger pangs subsided.
  202.
  203. > Wonder what the mystery is supposed to be
  204.
  205. You walk through the living room and finally see a television set. It's tuned to a local news channel, but you can't understand a word being said.
  206.
  207. "This is terrible!" You shout loudly. "We have an alien invasion happening right now!"
  208.
  209. > Look for aliens
  210.
  211. You head back to the bedroom and check under the bed. You find a bunch of books on alien biology and technology. You read several pages and realize that this must be some sort of book about aliens.
  212.
  213. "This is amazing!" You exclaim.
  214.
  215. >
  216.
  217. "There's actually people reading these things!"
  218.
  219. You pick up one of the books and turn to the last page. The title reads: Alien Invasion Manual. You flip through the pages and find that it describes various types of aliens that will attack your town.
  220.
  221. > Study alien biology
  222.
  223. You continue to study the alien biology manual. You learn that each type of alien has different physical characteristics and abilities. Some are faster than others, stronger than others, and some even have psychic powers.
  224.
  225. > Gain psychic powers from reading more
  226.
  227. As you continue to read, you suddenly feel a surge of energy run through your body. You don't know what caused it, but it feels very good. It lasts only a moment though and soon fades away, leaving you feeling tired.
  228.
  229. > Study alien mating
  230.
  231. You continue to study the alien mating manual. You learn that the females of certain species are able to mate with males of other species. The offspring produced from such unions are usually sterile, but sometimes produce fertile hybrids called 'hybrids'.
  232.
  233. > Study hybrids
  234.
  235. You continue to study the hybrid manual. You learn that the offspring produced from such unions are usually sterile, but sometimes produce fertile hybrids called 'hybrids' or 'offspring'.
  236.
  237. "I want to be a hybrid!" You exclaim.
  238. "That's not possible."
  239.
  240. > Study hybrid biology
  241.
  242. You continue to study the hybrid biology manual. You learn that the offspring produced from such unions are usually sterile, but sometimes produce fertile hybrids called 'hybrid' or 'offspring'.
  243. "I want to be a hybrid!" You exclaim.
  244. "That's not possible."
  245.
  246. > Study alien females
  247.
  248. You continue to study the alien female manual. You learn that the females of certain species are able to mate with males of other species. The offspring produced from such unions are usually fertile, but sometimes produce sterile hybrids called 'hybrids' or 'offspring'.
  249.
  250. > Look for alien female
  251.
  252. You look around the house and find nothing. There doesn't seem to be anyone else in the house except you and Anna.
  253.
  254. > Ask anna if she is an alien or a hybrid
  255.
  256. You look around the house and find nothing. There doesn't seem to be anyone else in the house except you and Anna.
  257.
  258. Anna: Are you an alien?
  259. Me: No! I'm just a normal girl who happens to like aliens!
  260.
  261. > Ask if she has an impregnantion fetish
  262.
  263. You look around the house and find nothing. There doesn't seem to be anyone else in the house except you and Anna.
  264.
  265. Anna: Have you seen any pregnant women?
  266. Me: Yes, I've looked everywhere! They're all hiding somewhere!
  267.
  268. > Read anna's mind
  269.
  270. You read Anna's mind and find that she is upset because her boyfriend broke up with her. She mentions that he was cheating on her as well as saying that they were going out to eat tonight.
  271.
  272. > Tell anna i am glad she was honest
  273.
  274. You tell Anna that she was indeed honest and happy for him. She smiles and says thank you before walking off into the woods. You sigh in relief.
  275.
  276. You then go back to studying the alien biology manual. You begin to think about how you could try to reproduce with one of them...
  277.
  278. >
  279.
  280.
  281. > Purge the herectical thoughts!
  282.
  283. The next day you wake up early and start looking around the house. You notice that there is no sign of Anna anywhere in the house so you decide to search for her yourself.
  284.
  285. You enter the kitchen where there is a refrigerator and grab a bottle of water from it.
  286.
  287. > Look for anna
  288.
  289. You walk over to the fridge and open it up. You see a few bottles of water inside. You drink two of them and immediately feel sick. This isn't something you normally do, but you need to get rid of the thought that Anna might be pregnant with your child!
  290.
  291. > Get dressed and search for aliens
  292.
  293. You quickly put on your clothes and head out the front door. You see that there is nobody around so you make your way to the backyard where there are several trees and bushes. You hide behind one of them while you search for anything that looks remotely human.
  294.
  295. >
  296.
  297. Suddenly you hear a noise coming from behind one of the bushes. You turn around and see a small figure running towards you. It runs past you and jumps into the bushes right next to you.
  298.
  299. > Ready my psychic power
  300.
  301. You jump up and swing your bat at the little creature. It screams and falls backwards into the bushes. You quickly pick it up by its ankles and throw it into the bushes.
  302.
  303. You stand there staring at the thing in shock until you hear footsteps approaching from behind you.
  304.
  305. > Face the sound
  306.
  307. You turn around and stare at the thing that ran into the bushes. It is a very large man wearing some sort of strange armor. He wears a helmet covering his entire head and has glowing red eyes.
  308.
  309. He walks forward slowly and you can smell him even through the thick foliage.
  310.
  311. > An imperial adeptus astrates!
  312.
  313. You raise your hand and fire a bolt of psychic energy at the man. He catches it with ease and throws you aside. You fall to the ground clutching your chest in pain.
  314.
  315. > Watch him interact with the alien
  316.
  317. You watch as the Imperial walks closer to you. His armor protects him from most attacks, but you know he still has the ability to sense your presence. You also realize that this is probably his first time interacting with a non-human being in person.
  318.
  319. > Stand and brush myself off. Make the sign of the aquilla towards the adeptus astrates
  320.
  321. You stand up and begin waving your hands in the air. A bright light appears above you and you feel a strong psychic force emanating from it. You then wave your arms in unison, making the sign of the Aquila (the sun) towards the adeptus astrates.
  322.
  323. >
  324.
  325. The light begins to grow brighter and brighter until it is blinding.
  326.
  327. You fall backward onto the ground and feel a sharp pain in your side. You scream out in agony as you realize what happened.
  328.
  329. >
  330.
  331. The adeptus astrates had telepathically attacked you.
  332.
  333. You have been possessed by an alien psyker!
  334.
  335. > Traitor marine! Teleport away in a random direction to put space between you and the traitor marine
  336.
  337. You teleport away from the adeptus astrates and attempt to put distance between you and him. Unfortunately he has already followed you. You run through the forest hoping that someone will come after you, but unfortunately no one does.
  338.
  339. A long time passes...
  340.
  341. > Use my communicator to call anna for assistance
  342.
  343. You reach out to Annah for help. She doesn't answer though, maybe she is asleep or perhaps she is dead. You don't care anymore; you just want her back.
  344.
  345. You continue to run through the forest until you finally lose consciousness.
  346.
  347. > Psychically hide myself from the traitor marine
  348.
  349. You hide yourself deep within the undergrowth and wait for the perfect moment to strike. Suddenly you suddenly feel a powerful psychic attack hitting you and you instantly feel like your insides are being ripped apart. The alien possesses you and begins attacking the adeptus astrates with all its might.
  350.
  351. > Call upon the emperor to preserve my soul
  352.
  353. You call upon the Emperor to protect me and I feel his protection envelop me. My mind is filled with images of the Emperor's glory and I am overcome with emotion. Tears stream down my cheeks as I cry out in ecstasy.
  354.
  355. I'm free!
  356.
  357. I've found peace!
  358.
  359. > Fire a mind bullet into the alien
  360.
  361. You fire a beam of psychic energy into the alien. You feel it explode in a burst of light and sound. The alien dies screaming before your eyes.
  362.
  363. > Face the adeptus astartes and pause
  364.
  365. You step back and notice that the adeptus astartes are now looking at you with fear. They all stop their attack and begin to retreat. You take advantage of this situation and start firing a blast of psychic energy at them.
  366.
  367. > "The xenos psyker has been purged. We are both free from its influence now"
  368.
  369. You say this to everyone present. Everyone is shocked by your words and they look at you in disbelief. The adeptus astartes are not used to having people speak so freely about things like this and they immediately begin to flee.
  370.
  371. > My work is done
  372.
  373. You release your hold on the alien and it collapses to the ground. You walk over to it and examine its body. Its armor is heavily damaged, but you recognize that it was made from something similar to human flesh. This means that whoever possessed it must be a member of the Imperium.
  374.
  375. > Write report detailing all the events with descriptions of the alien and its abilities
  376.
  377. You write a detailed report describing everything that occurred. It details how the alien possessed you, who it was and where it came from. You also note that the adeptus astartes were not native to this sector and must have been brought here by ships from other sectors.
  378.
  379. >
  380.
  381. You finish writing your report and send it off to Annah. She reads it carefully and gives you a disapproving look. You sigh deeply and decide that she won't approve of what you did.
  382.
  383. > "Questioning your inqusitor anna?"
  384.
  385. You ask if she would like to talk more privately. She agrees and weaves a mental link with you.
  386.
  387. Annah: "So what do you think? Did the alien possess you?"
  388. You: "Yes.
  389.
  390. > Tell her the emperor protected you and enabled me to defeat the alien
  391.
  392. You tell Annah the truth.
  393.
  394. Annah: "That's good to hear. Thank you."
  395.
  396. Annah leaves you alone and goes back to her duties.
  397.
  398. > Read anna's mind
  399.
  400. You enter Annah's mind and find that she is indeed pleased with your actions.
  401.
  402. Annah: "Thank you for telling me the truth. Now I can sleep well knowing that I saved your life."
  403.
  404. Annah leaves you alone and returns to her duties.
  405.
  406. > Submit my report to the inquistion and ask for further instructions
  407.
  408. You submit your report to the inquistion and request that they give you further orders.
  409.
  410. Inquisitor: "Very good, I'll forward it on to the Adeptus Mechanicus."
  411.
  412. You wake up and realize that you have been transported back in time again.
  413.
  414. > Examine surroundings
  415.
  416. You look around and see that you are still inside the ruins of a large building. There is a lot of rubble everywhere and there is smoke rising from several places.
  417.
  418. > Search the area
  419.
  420. You search the area and find nothing. You then realize that you have been teleported into an abandoned warehouse. You quickly get out of the way when you see a figure standing nearby.
  421.
  422. Man: "What are you doing here?
  423.
  424. > Read the man's mind
  425.
  426. You read the man's mind and find that he is very angry. He shouts at you angrily.
  427.
  428. Man: "Who sent you?! Who sent you?!"
  429.
  430. You turn around and see a tall, pale man wearing a black robe standing near him.
  431.
  432. > Read the tall man's mind
  433.
  434. You read the man's mind and find that he is very concerned about your sudden arrival. He asks you what happened and why you were teleported back in time. You explain to him what happened.
  435.
  436. >
  437.
  438. Tall Man: "Well, that was quite a story. I suppose you could say I was caught unawares by the explosion and had to teleport myself back in time. However, I don't believe it would be wise to travel through such dangerous territory alone.
  439.
  440. > Agree to accompany them
  441.
  442. You agree to accompany them as long as you are accompanied by someone else. Tall Man agrees and tells you to follow him.
  443.
  444. You walk along side the two men while they continue talking about the strange occurrences that have occurred recently.
  445.
  446. >
  447.
  448. Suddenly, you feel a strong presence behind you.
  449.
  450. You turn around and see a huge, monstrous creature with four arms emerge from one of the buildings nearby. It looks like some sort of mutant abomination.
  451.
  452. > Shoot mind bullets at the abomination
  453.
  454. You fire a few mind bullets at the abomination. It doesn't seem to affect it much though.
  455.
  456. Tall Man: "I guess we should leave now... I mean, we aren't supposed to be here!"
  457. You nod and go back to walking alongside Tall Man.
  458.
  459. >
  460.
  461. Suddenly, you feel a strong force push you backwards.
  462.
  463. You fall down and land hard on the floor. The force pushes you against the wall of the warehouse and onto your knees. You try to stand up only to feel another powerful force pushing you back down again.
  464.
  465. > Psychically shield myself
  466.
  467. You mentally create a barrier around yourself and attempt to protect yourself from whatever is trying to attack you. You notice that the creatures strength seems to increase when attacking you.
  468.
  469. The creatures attacks seem to become stronger and faster as it approaches you.
  470.
  471. > Burn them with psychic fire
  472.
  473. You concentrate all your energy into creating a ball of psychic flames which you throw at the creatures. Unfortunately, this fails miserably as it just causes it to growl and roar even louder than before.
  474.
  475. > What are these beasts?
  476.
  477. You suddenly realize that you are being attacked by something inhuman. Something not human.
  478.
  479. It starts to move towards you and its claws start glowing red hot. You scream out in terror and run away from the creature.
  480.
  481. > Fire plasma pistol at its claws
  482.
  483. You focus all your power into firing a burst of plasma at the creatures claws. Unfortunately, it does little damage to them.
  484.
  485. Tall Man: "Shit! We need to get out of here!"
  486. You nod and rush outside where you meet Tall Men who are holding rifles ready.
  487.
  488. >
  489.
  490. Tall Man: "We need to get out of here now!"
  491. You hear a loud noise coming from above you. You look up and see a massive pillar of flame erupting from the ground below you. You also see Tall Men running away with their weapons raised.
  492.
  493. >
  494.
  495. Tall Man: "That was a big one! Let's go!"
  496.
  497.
  498. You hear a loud sound followed by a flash of light. You see Tall Man and his companions lying dead on the ground. They never saw it coming.
  499.
  500. > Look for source of sound
  501.
  502. You look around and see a bright light shining in the distance. You can't tell if it is natural or artificial but you know it isn't natural.
  503.
  504. You hurry back inside the warehouse and hide under a table.
  505.
  506. >
  507.
  508. A few minutes later, you hear more explosions going off all over the place. You also hear screams of people trapped underground.
  509.
  510. >
  511.
  512. You hope there are still survivors down there.
  513.
  514. You wait patiently until the smoke clears and then you peek out from underneath the table. There is no sign of anyone so you head back inside the warehouse and hide under a table.
  515.
  516. You hear a lot of shouting and gunfire.
  517.
  518. > Investigate gunfire
  519.
  520. You cautiously crawl out from beneath the table and peer around corners looking for survivors. You spot several bodies strewn across the floor and barricades. Some of them are bloody and badly wounded. Others appear to be dead already.
  521.
  522. >
  523.
  524. You quickly make your way to the nearest barricade and examine it carefully. A man lies slumped over the rail next to it. He has been shot through both legs and is bleeding profusely from his ears. His face shows signs of extreme pain and he appears unconscious.
  525.
  526. >
  527.
  528. He doesn't seem hostile and you don't think he would be able to help you. You call out to him in an effort to wake him up.
  529.
  530. "Hey buddy, wake up!" You shout. "Are you okay?"
  531.
  532. >
  533.
  534. His eyes flutter open and he grunts in response. He attempts to sit up but falls back down. You take advantage of this opportunity and grab his rifle from the floor and hold it to his head. He struggles for a moment, but eventually gives up.
  535.
  536. > Bandage the mans legs and help him stand up
  537.
  538. You kneel beside the man and wrap his legs up tightly. You quickly put bandages on his wounds and apply pressure to keep them closed. He looks at you with wide eyes and asks why you are doing this to him.
  539.
  540. > "I am inquistor john of the ordo xenos. I need your help guardsman to identify our foe and save this system."
  541.
  542. He stares at you blankly and says nothing. You continue to stare at him and finally he speaks.
  543.
  544. "My name is John, but everyone calls me Jack." He continues to stare at you with a blank expression on his face. "What do you want from me?"
  545.
  546. > Ask about the creatures attacking
  547.
  548. "They...they aren't humans." He replies. "These things are..."
  549.
  550. You interrupt him. "No they're not." You point out.
  551.
  552. John stares at you incredulously for a moment before replying. "But how could they possibly be anything else?"
  553.
  554. > Tell him they might be hybrids that the aliens are using to infiltrate human society
  555.
  556. "Maybe." He answers. "The Ordosians have always had problems with inter species breeding. The hybrids are probably the result of some experiments gone wrong."
  557.
  558. You nod in agreement and tell him to stay quiet while you check his wounds.
  559.
  560. >
  561.
  562. You begin examining his legs and find that they are badly burned.
  563.
  564. "Where did you come from?" You ask him.
  565.
  566. He tells you that he came from a small town called Nuro.
  567.
  568. >
  569.
  570. It was destroyed when the city-state of Ordos fell. He ran away from home and lived as a vagabond for awhile before finding shelter in the warehouse where you found him.
  571.
  572. > Ask what the defensive capabilities are of the humans
  573.
  574. "They've got cannons on their walls and armor plating." He explains. "Their guns are powerful enough to blow us all away."
  575.
  576. You nod in understanding and ask him about the humans' abilities offensively.
  577.
  578. >
  579.
  580. "They can fire plasma bolts from their rifles." He replies. "We'd die instantly."
  581.
  582. You pause briefly to consider his answer. It seems like he knows something you don't, but you haven't asked him yet. You decide to press the issue.
  583.
  584. > Read the man's mind
  585.
  586. You feel a slight tingle in your mind and you try to access his thoughts.
  587.
  588. "Hmm? What is it?" He asks.
  589.
  590. You attempt to access his memories, but get no response. You wonder if he's asleep or something.
  591.
  592. > Realize the man is a blank and therefore useful against psykers
  593.
  594. You suddenly sense a presence nearby and you immediately start scanning the area. You see a figure standing behind you. It isn't very tall though, only reaching your waist. Its skin is pale white and its hair is black and stands straight up into its skull.
  595.
  596. >
  597.
  598. It wears a dark blue jumpsuit and carries a large pistol in one hand.
  599.
  600. "Who are you?" You demand.
  601.
  602. The figure pauses momentarily and then responds. "I'm the Inquisitor."
  603.
  604. > Declare i am an inquistor and ask for his identification rune
  605.
  606. "Yes, I am." He nods. "And who are you?"
  607.
  608. You explain that you are inquistor john of the ordo xenos and ask for his identification rune.
  609.
  610. "Oh yes, those things." He says. "I suppose I should give my name."
  611.
  612. >
  613.
  614. He points to his forehead and begins tapping it rapidly. "Hahaha! That's funny. But what does it mean?"
  615.
  616. You explain that it is a symbol used by the order to identify each other, but he still doesn't understand.
  617.
  618. > Read the man's mind
  619.
  620. You notice that he has been concentrating hard on his thoughts and you can tell that he is trying to concentrate on more than just himself. His mind starts racing and you hear a buzzing noise in the background. You stop reading his mind and return to your own.
  621.
  622. > Point plasma pistol at man and demand he tells you his intent
  623.
  624. You point your pistol at the man and demand to know what he wants.
  625.
  626. "I want to kill you." He says. "Why?"
  627.
  628. You frown in confusion and ask him why he would want to kill you.
  629.
  630. >
  631.
  632. "Because you're an inquisitor!" He exclaims. "I think you killed my brother once, remember?"
  633.
  634. You raise your gun and shoot him in the head. He falls backwards onto the ground dead.
  635.
  636. > Ask the injured man if he recognized the dead man
  637.
  638. You turn around and look at the man lying on the floor. You recognize him immediately, he was the one who shot you in the back.
  639.
  640. >
  641.
  642. "That's right, I killed your brother." You say. "What happened to you?"
  643.
  644. He looks down and shakes his head. "I lost my memory years ago." He says sadly.
  645.
  646. > Hand his rifle back and look for others
  647.
  648. You hand over your weapon and take a few steps forward. "Are there any others here?" You ask.
  649.
  650. There is silence for a moment and then another voice comes out. "No, sir." A gruff male voice replies.
  651.
  652. >
  653.
  654. You continue to look around and finally see several men dressed in black suits with red ties holding automatic weapons. They stare at you suspiciously.
  655.
  656. > Announce my presence and purpose for being there
  657.
  658. You stand up slowly and walk towards them. "I'm sorry, but I need to speak with you." You say.
  659.
  660. One of the men raises his rifle and fires a burst of bullets at you. The bullet hits your chest and explodes in your body.
  661.
  662. >
  663.
  664. You collapse to the ground lifelessly.
  665.
  666. > Thank the emperor for allowing me to serve him
  667.
  668. You lie motionless on the ground and close your eyes as you pray to the Emperor.
  669.
  670. "Thank you, Emperor." You whisper.
  671.
  672. >
  673.
  674. Suddenly you awaken.
  675.
  676. >
  677.
  678. You open your eyes and find yourself strapped to a table. Your hands are bound together behind your back and you feel a needle prick your arm. You gasp as pain shoots through you.
  679.
  680. "Don't struggle." One of the doctors whispers in an authoritative tone.
  681.
  682. > Read the doctor's mind
  683.
  684. You notice that the doctor is staring at you intently. "Is this the inquisitor?" You ask.
  685. "Indeed it is." He answers calmly. "But we don't have time for pleasantries, let us get down to business.
  686.
  687. >
  688.
  689. What do you know about the incident where you were shot?"
  690.
  691. You try to answer, but all that comes out is a garbled mess. "It...it was..." You begin to choke up and wipe your eyes. "...a long time ago.
  692.
  693. >
  694.
  695. It was during the Horus Heresy."
  696.
  697. The doctor stares at you with concern. "Do you wish to talk about it now?"
  698.
  699. You nod frantically. "Yes! Yes, please!" You beg desperately.
  700.
  701. "Very well," The doctor nods thoughtfully. "
  702.
  703. >
  704.
  705. I will leave you alone now.
  706.
  707. >
  708.
  709. You sit silently in silence while the doctor leaves. You sigh deeply and fall into deep thoughts. It seems like you've been having these recurring dreams ever since you woke up from your coma. In fact they seem to be getting worse lately. What could cause such nightmares?
  710.
  711. > Examine restraints
  712.
  713. You remove the restraints and find that they are made of leather straps. There is no way you can break free from them without serious injury or death.
  714.
  715. "Perhaps I should just kill myself." You think to yourself. "This nightmare has been plaguing me for quite some time now."
  716.
  717. > Use psychic fire to burn leather straps
  718.
  719. You focus your mental powers and send a blast of psychic energy at the straps. The flames quickly engulf the strap and melt it completely. The metal snaps apart under your fingers as you pull them away.
  720.
  721. > Search the room
  722.
  723. You search the room and find nothing out of place. The restraints still hang by their cords from the ceiling. You also find a pistol lying next to one of the chairs.
  724.
  725. "Could this be what caused these nightmares?" You wonder aloud.
  726.
  727. > Take pistol and open door out of room
  728.
  729. You carefully pick up the pistol and slide it across the floor. You hear a click followed by a loud thud. You push open the door and step outside.
  730.
  731. Outside you see a large warehouse filled with machinery, machinery covered in dust, and more machines that are broken beyond repair.
  732.
  733. > Search the area
  734.
  735. You walk over to the pile of broken machinery and start poking around. You poke your head inside most places and find nothing out of place.
  736.
  737. "These machines must have been used for making weapons." You think to yourself. "Maybe I should go check out the armory."
  738.
  739. >
  740.
  741. You walk over to the armory and look around. You find several pieces of equipment laying on tables and shelves. Some are clearly military grade, others are far less sophisticated than what you'd expect from a Space Marine chapter's arsenal.
  742.
  743. >
  744.
  745. "Some of these things might be useful." You think to yourself. "Perhaps I'll check out the armory again later today."
  746.
  747. You continue to explore the armory until you come across a large steel door. The lock clicks open and you peer inside cautiously.
  748.
  749. >
  750.
  751. Inside the armory is a massive space filled with machinery. A few robots stand idle here, but there are many other smaller machines scattered throughout the room. Most of them are crudely made and require maintenance before they're functional again.
  752.
  753. >
  754.
  755. There is a row of large machines in the middle of the room. They are all connected to each other and to one another. Each machine has two arms which extend from its body, allowing it to manipulate objects in various ways. These devices are called manipulators.
  756.
  757. > Explore other areas
  758.
  759. You wander further into the armory, looking around. You find several rooms filled with small robots. Most of them are simple models that require little maintenance. However, there are a few larger models here which need attention to keep them functioning properly.
  760.
  761. > Look for space marines
  762.
  763. You move through the armory and find a series of doors leading off to different parts of the ship. You decide to investigate each one.
  764.
  765. As you enter the first door, you see a large table covered with various tools and tubes.
  766.
  767. >
  768.
  769. On top of the table sits a man wearing an Astartes Power Armor. His face is heavily scarred and his armor is dirty. He looks up when he sees you approach, but doesn't say anything.
  770.
  771. "Ah, Captain Vahlen." You call out politely.
  772.
  773. >
  774.
  775. He turns his head slightly to meet your gaze. "Vahnen, eh? How do you know my name?" He asks with a slight frown.
  776.
  777. "Well, we've had our differences in the past, but I'm sure you remember me from our last mission together."
  778.
  779. >
  780.
  781. He nods slowly. "Yes, yes, I remember you. We were sent to retrieve a certain item from a certain location." He pauses briefly before continuing. "And it was not successful."
  782.
  783. > "That was unfortunate."
  784.
  785. "Indeed. But I am sorry to report that the target was never found."
  786.
  787. "What happened then?" You ask, confused.
  788.
  789. The captain shrugs. "I don't know yet...perhaps it will be returned to us someday." He says quietly before turning back to you.
  790.
  791. > Explain the doctor and injections
  792.
  793. "So, why did you fail?" You ask.
  794.
  795. He sighs deeply and shakes his head. "It was a failure, but it wasn't due to any lack of effort on my part." He pauses briefly before continuing.
  796.
  797. >
  798.
  799. "We failed because the target was located elsewhere. It seems like it would be very easy to locate the target if it was actually there."
  800.
  801. "But how could you miss something so obvious?" You ask incredulously.
  802.
  803. He smiles faintly and shakes his head once more.
  804.
  805. >
  806.
  807. "No, I suppose not. Perhaps it is best that way."
  808.
  809. "Is there anything else you wish to tell me?" You ask, curious about the situation.
  810.
  811. He gives a brief nod and turns away from you quickly as he continues speaking.
  812.
  813. >
  814.
  815. "There is one thing I want to tell you though, Captain Vahlen. If you ever find yourself in need of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me."
  816.
  817. > Tell him about the doctor binding me
  818.
  819. "Thank you for telling me about the doctor, but I already knew that much." He replies.
  820. "I understand, but I still feel it is important to mention it. There may come a time where you may need help in some way and I would hate for that to happen."
  821.
  822. >
  823.
  824. "Hm, well thank you for bringing this up." You reply.
  825. "Don't mention it." He says simply.
  826.
  827.
  828. You continue to explore the armory and eventually end up at a small section containing a single terminal.
  829.
  830. > Connect to terminal
  831.
  832. A screen appears on the wall behind you. On it is a picture of a human male with long blond hair and a wide grin. The image changes to show that it's actually the same person standing next to another man who has short brown hair and wears black clothing.
  833.
  834. >
  835.
  836. The two men are holding weapons similar to yours and both have their eyes closed.
  837.
  838. "Hello?" You call out softly.
  839.
  840. The image fades back to normal and you hear a voice coming through the speakers. "Hmm, I wonder what that is."
  841.
  842. > Investigate voice
  843.
  844. The speaker opens her mouth to speak, but closes it again before she can. She lets out a soft chuckle and speaks again. "I'm afraid I don't think that's who you're thinking of."
  845.
  846. > Read the speaker's mind?
  847.
  848. She lets out a giggle and speaks again. "Oh dear, I didn't mean to scare you. My name is Miranda Keyes and I'm a telepath."
  849.
  850. > Ask what she wants
  851.
  852. "I'd love to talk to you, but unfortunately I'm currently under lock and key right now. Can you get me out?"
  853. "Of course." You answer.
  854. "Goodbye then, my friend." She says and the image disappears completely.
  855.
  856. > Connect to terminal and find information on miranda keyes
  857.
  858. You open up the terminal and begin typing furiously. A few seconds later, you see a large number appear on the screen.
  859.
  860. 1-4-6-8-10-12-14
  861.
  862. "Wow! That's a lot of numbers!" You exclaim.
  863.
  864. >
  865.
  866. "Yeah, I figured it would be." Meliodas says. "How many people are in your group?"
  867. "About twenty-five, including myself." You say.
  868. "Twenty five huh? Well that's pretty big considering most groups aren't even that big."
  869.
  870. > Play off my reactive lie and ask about miranda keyes
  871.
  872. "Miranda Keyes?" You ask.
  873. "Yes, that's correct. And what brings you here anyway?"
  874. "Well, I wanted to check if we had any other survivors or supplies left in the armory.
  875.
  876. >
  877.
  878. We were running low on food and water after all."
  879. "Ah yes, the medical supplies. Well I guess we'll just have to make sure they're okay too."
  880. "I wouldn't worry about them. They've been here for years and haven't shown signs of disease or age.
  881.
  882. > Ask why miranda is locked up
  883.
  884. "Because she's a prisoner. In fact, she was locked up here when I first arrived. We never found out why though."
  885. "What happened to her?
  886.
  887. >
  888.
  889. What did she do?"
  890. "Nothing really. She was just locked up. I don't know why we kept her here though."
  891. "So what does this facility look like exactly?" You ask.
  892. "
  893.
  894. > Read meliodas' mind
  895.
  896. Meliodas smiles slightly as his smile morphs into a sinister smirk. His eyes narrow and he begins to move his lips slowly while staring directly at you.
  897.
  898. >
  899.
  900. "This place looks like an old dungeon. It has a stone floor and there are no windows so you can't escape either." He says.
  901.
  902. > Psyker!
  903.
  904. You lunge forward and punch him square in the face knocking him backwards. He falls down and hits his head on the ground.
  905. "Oof!" Meliodas groans as he gets up quickly.
  906. "It's not working!"
  907.
  908. > Dominate his mind
  909.
  910. You grab his shoulders and force him to stare straight ahead. He starts to struggle, but you keep him still by forcing his eyes forward.
  911. "Look at me." You demand.
  912. He complies and stares at you intently.
  913. "Now tell me what this place is."
  914.
  915. >
  916.
  917. You demand.
  918. "This place is a prison. I was brought here against my will when I was young." He answers truthfully.
  919. "Tell me more." You insist.
  920.
  921. >
  922.
  923. "My parents died in a car crash when I was very young. The driver wasn't wearing a seat belt and the vehicle veered off the road killing everyone inside. My mother was thrown from the window of the car and crushed instantly. Her body remained intact despite being dead for only moments."
  924.

  926.
  927. "That...that's horrible." You say.
  928. "It was my father who saved me from the wreckage of the car and carried me out alive. He took me home where I lived with him until I grew strong enough to go live with my grandmother."
  929. "Your family is dead?"
  930.
  931. >
  932.
  933. You ask.
  934. "No, my brother Trevor died three years ago. He was killed in a car accident when he was nineteen."
  935.
  936. > Tell him to lead me to miranda's cell
  937.
  938. "Alright, alright, let's hurry up and get to her cell. There must be others here."
  939. "Wait, wait! Don't hurt me!" Miranda screams.
  940. "Don't worry about her, I won't kill you." You assure her.
  941.
  942. >
  943.
  944. "Please, I'm sorry! Please let me go!"
  945.
  946. > Read miranda's mind
  947.
  948. Miranda's eyes widen as she sees you standing over her. She tries to scream, but her throat is parched and dry.
  949. "Are you going to let me take you back to the ship?" You ask.
  950. "What do you want with me?!" She asks in terror.
  951.
  952. > "I am inquistor john of ordos xenos. I require knowledge of this prison to escape."
  953.
  954. She doesn't seem surprised by your words.
  955. "I need information on how to open this door." You explain.
  956. "How do you know that?" She asks.
  957. "The book tells me so." You answer truthfully.
  958. "Ohh, now you're lying!"
  959.
  960. > Grasp her head and link my mind to hers
  961.
  962. "I'm not lying." You say.
  963. "Then what do you want with me?" She demands.
  964. "Well, I think it would help if I could take you back to the ship."
  965. "Why would I trust you?" She asks.
  966.
  967. >
  968.
  969. "Because I've been trying to learn everything I can about you. If you didn't have any secrets, then maybe we wouldn't be having this conversation right now."
  970. "I don't understand why you'd want to leave the ship.
  971.
  972. >
  973.
  974. We were friends before we met."
  975. "We weren't always friends. I had a lot of questions about the way things worked around here. So I decided to come aboard and see if you wanted to talk further."
  976. "But you said..."
  977. "
  978.
  979. > Grab her hand and take her with me into the hallway
  980.
  981. "Let's go." You say.
  982. "Where are we going?" She asks.
  983. "To the elevator."
  984. "An elevator? But..."
  985. "Yes, but what?" You ask.
  986. "But I thought the ship was supposed to be destroyed! Where are we taking me!?"
  987.
  988. > Tell her to use her powers to find a space ship to escape on
  989.
  990. "Okay, okay, I'll try to help you out."
  991. "Good luck." She smiles.
  992. "Thanks." You reply.
  993. You follow her through the halls and eventually reach a large metal door which opens up into another room.
  994.
  995. >
  996.
  997. A big computer screen greets you. It shows several screens of various types of data. On one is a map showing the location of the ship, while on another is a schematic diagram of the interior layout. On yet another screen there are two doors labeled 'C' and 'D'.
  998.
  999. > Broadcast a message to captain vahlen about the location of the ship
  1000.
1001. You begin broadcasting a message to the captain of the ship.
1002. "Captain Vahlen, I have located the location of the ship." You announce.
1003. "Excellent work inquisitor! We shall all follow your lead and make our escape soon!" Captain Vahlen says cheerily.
  1004.
1005. > Head to space ship
  1006.
1007. You walk along the hallways towards the elevator. Suddenly you hear a loud noise and feel an intense pain shoot through your body. You collapse to the ground and immediately start screaming in agony.
  1008.
  1009. >
  1010.
1011. "What the fuck happened?!" A voice shouts.
  1012. "I...I don't know!" You cry out.
1013. "You just collapsed from a sudden heart attack, I suggest you rest." Another voice says.
1014. You sit up slowly and look around at your surroundings.
  1015.
  1016. >
  1017.
1018. You see a man dressed in black armor holding a shotgun standing nearby. The man looks like he has some sort of cybernetic implant in his arm, though you aren't sure what kind.
1019. "Who are you?" You demand.
  1020.
  1021. >
  1022.
1023. "My name is Reginald Brouillard. I'm part of the security team assigned to keep watch on you."
1024. "You're not a guard or anything?" You ask.
1025. "Nope, I'm just doing my job." Brouillard replies.
  1026.
  1027. > Read reginald's mind
  1028.
1029. Reginald stares at you for a moment, before speaking.
1030. "So, what brings you out here?" He asks.
1031. "It's none of your concern." You reply.
1032. "Hmm, interesting tone to your voice. Do you intend on killing me?"
  1033.
1034. > "I intend to serve the emperor. Right now he drives me to escape this place"
  1035.
1036. "Interesting choice of words. Well, I suppose you're probably right. Anyway, I'm sure you've got a mission to complete."
1037. "Yeah, well what's wrong with this elevator?" You ask.
1038. "Nothing, just something went wrong with the power supply."
  1039.
1040. > Ask if he knows how to fix it
  1041.
1042. "No problem. What should I do?"
1043. "Just press the button next to the panel."
  1044. "Got it."
  1045.
  1046. >
  1047.
1048. "Now, let's get out of here."
  1049. "Right after you."
1050. You exit the room and enter the elevator. As soon as it begins moving, you slam the button down and fall down to earth. Your body hurts so much that you pass out instantly.
  1051.
  1052. > The doctor's injection...
  1053.
1054. Your eyes open and you feel a sharp pain run through your chest. You groan in pain and roll over onto your stomach.
1055. You look around to see who did this to you, but see no one.
  1056.
1057. > Pray the emperor preserves me
  1058.
1059. You quickly stand up and begin praying to the Emperor.
1060. "Eternal Emperor, protect me from harm, please..." You whisper.
1061. Suddenly you feel a warm sensation running through your body. This feeling continues until you feel completely healed.
  1062.
1063. > Take the elevator to the space ship
  1064.
1065. You climb into the elevator and press the button down. The elevator doors close behind you.
  1066.
  1067. >
  1068.
1069. The elevator ride takes less than five minutes. When the elevator reaches its destination, you find yourself in a large room filled with computers and other electronic equipment. There are also many people milling about the area.
  1070.
1071. > "I see you made it captain vahlen."
  1072.
1073. "Yes, yes, we're almost there." Captain Vahlen remarks.
  1074. "We are?" You ask.
  1075. "Indeed." She responds.
1076. As you walk forward, you notice several monitors mounted throughout the room.
  1077.
1078. > Prepare the space ship for depature
  1079.
1080. You turn around and face the captain.
1081. "I want you to go ahead and activate the tractor beam." You tell her.
1082. "Very good inquisitor." Captain Vahlen smiles. "But first, I'd like to talk with you for a moment."
  1083.
  1084. >
  1085.
1086. She walks forward and sits down across from you.
1087. "Do you have any last words?" she asks.
  1088. "No." You answer simply.
1089. "Well then, goodbye inquisitor." Captain Vahlen says and leaves without another word.
  1090.
1091. > "What of your chapter, captain vahlen?"
  1092.
1093. "They will be fine." You reply.
1094. "Good. Now, I would like you to bring up the shields."
1095. You nod and move to the console where you can control them easily. Once again, you activate the shields and wait patiently for their activation signal.
  1096.
  1097. >
  1098.
1099. "Are they working?" You ask.
1100. "Almost." Captain Vahlen answers. "Let me check the weapons systems now."
1101. You head back to the consoles and once more activate the shields and wait for their activation signal. Again, you hear her voice coming from the speakers.
  1102.
  1103. >
  1104.
1105. "Shields are online." She reports. "Weapons systems are functioning properly too."
1106. "Thank you captain, thank you!" You respond happily.
1107. "Alright, I think we're ready to depart." She announces. "We'll need to make a few adjustments first though."
  1108.
  1109. >
  1110.
  1111. "Of course." You reply.
1112. "I'll start by cutting off the air supply to the engines." She explains.
  1113.
  1114. >
  1115.
1116. "Then I'll disable the tractor beams."
1117. "How long will that take?" You ask.
1118. "A couple hours tops." She replies. "And don't worry; we won't die of suffocation, we'll be fine.
  1119.
  1120. > Read captain vahlen's mind
  1121.
1122. You focus on the captain's mind and attempt to read her thoughts. You try to figure out what she wants you to do next.
  1123.
1124. It seems that the captain is trying very hard not to panic.
  1125.
1126. > Ask why he is concerned
  1127.
1128. "Why are you worried?" You ask.
1129. "Because I'm afraid. I know what happened before, and I know what could happen again." He tells you.
  1130.
1131. > "You are a space marine captain. You live and die for battle. This is just another battle. The emperor protects."
  1132.
1133. "That may be true, but I am still afraid. And if something happens to me, it isn't going to matter because the only thing that matters is what happens when we reach our target.
  1134.
  1135. >
  1136.
1137. If we fail, then the empire falls."
1138. "So you're saying you aren't going to let fear stop you from doing your duty?" You ask.
1139. "Perhaps not, but it has been getting to me lately. I've had enough of being scared all the time.
  1140.
1141. > "I have died before, and the emperor preserved me and brought me here. We are nearing our goal."
  1142.
  1143. "Then we must succeed."
1144. "Yeah, yeah, we gotta get this done." You agree.
1145. "Okay then, let us get started then."
  1146.
  1147. >
  1148.
  1149.
  1150. >
  1151.
1152. Captain Vahlen activates the tractor beams and pulls you towards the space station. You feel a great weight lifted off your shoulders as you begin your journey into unknown territory.
  1153.
  1154. >
  1155.
1156. The trip takes less than an hour, and soon after you arrive at the space station. It looks like a typical space station, except for one thing...
  1157.
1158. There is no one inside the room. Not even a single living soul. All doors are locked and secured shut.
  1159.
1160. > Search for signs of aliens or corruption
  1161.
1162. You look around the room and see nothing out of place. There is also a security camera in the corner which shows nothing either.
  1163.
1164. Maybe there was some sort of malfunction or someone forgot to lock this place?
  1165.
  1166. >
  1167.
1168. You decide to search the area around the computer room first. You find nothing interesting there either. Maybe it wasn't secure enough? You head over to the door leading outside and open it up. Inside you see a small elevator which takes you up to the top floor.
  1169.
  1170. >
  1171.
1172. You enter the elevator and press the button down. As expected, it opens up to a large metal hatch. You walk through the hatch and find yourself in a vast empty space with nothing in sight save for stars and void.
  1173.
1174. This is what you were looking for!
  1175.
  1176. >
  1177.
1178. You can finally go home!
  1179.
1180. You quickly scan the surrounding area for any life forms, but there is none anywhere nearby. You turn around and exit the hatch. You are alone in this strange new world.
  1181.
  1182. > Investigate area
  1183.
1184. You stand in the middle of a vast empty space, with nothing in sight save for stars and void. You notice that the ground is covered with tiny white specks. They seem to move about randomly and they are moving closer together.
  1185.
  1186. They are... Stars?
  1187.
1188. > Activate pictorecorder and continue exploration
  1189.
1190. You activate your pictorecorder and begin recording everything you see. You record everything you see, including the movement of these stars.
  1191.
1192. After several minutes of recording, you hear a faint buzzing noise coming from somewhere near the center of the room.
  1193.
  1194. >
  1195.
1196. You slowly approach the source of the noise. Suddenly, you feel a sharp pain shoot through your chest. Your vision goes black and you pass out.
  1197.
  1198. >
  1199.
  1200.
  1201. >
  1202.
1203. You awaken on the floor of a dark room. You don't remember anything other than waking up and seeing a bright light.
  1204.
1205. A voice calls out to you from behind the door, "Are you alright? Are you hurt?
  1206.
  1207. > "Where am i?
  1208.
1209. "Oh, sorry about that. I thought you might be injured during the trip across the galaxy. But no worries, you're alive now."
  1210.
1211. > Ask who the voice is
  1212.
1213. "It's just me, I'm afraid. Who are you?"
1214. "My name is Doctor Kavanagh and I work for the Zalan Empire."
1215. "Zalan Empire? What do they want with me?
  1216.
  1217. > Sounds like tau
  1218.
1219. "That's not important right now. What is important is that you need to come with me immediately if you wish to know why you've been abducted by them."
  1220.
1221. You sit up and try to figure out how you got here.
  1222.
  1223. >
  1224.
1225. The voices stop talking to you and you regain awareness.
  1226.
1227. You realize that you are lying face down on a cold stone floor. A man wearing a long coat stands before you holding a pistol to your head.
  1228.
1229. > Dont move and read the man's mind
  1230.
1231. You remain still and allow the man to speak into your mind.
  1232.
1233. "I have to let you live, otherwise I will kill you. However, I must warn you that if you attempt to escape my custody again, I WILL KILL YOU!" he says.
  1234.
  1235. > Face the man
  1236.
1237. You stand up and prepare to attack him, however the man speaks again.
  1238.
1239. "Don't worry, I won't kill you. In fact, I'll make sure you get off this planet alive."
  1240.
1241. He then pulls his gun away from your head and points it at yours.
  1242.
1243. > Ask the doctor why he betrayed the imperium
  1244.
1245. "Because I saw an opportunity to take power myself. The empire needs a strong leader after all."
  1246.
1247. You raise your hands defensively as the man walks towards you. He grabs hold of one of your arms and begins squeezing.
  1248.
  1249. > Dominate dotctor kavanagh's mind
  1250.
1251. You force the doctor's mind into yours and squeeze until his eyes roll back in his head. You pull away and laugh maniacally.
  1252.
1253. "Well done, human. Now you can tell me why you kidnapped me."
  1254.
1255. > Read his thoughts to find information
  1256.
1257. You look over the doctor's mind and find a list of names and addresses. You quickly skim through the list and find that you know most of those people.
  1258.
1259. "What do you think happened to them?" you ask.
1260. "Somehow, I doubt it was good."
  1261.
1262. > Read his mind for alien locations and supporters
  1263.
1264. You focus on the doctor's mind and concentrate hard. You learn that the aliens were located deep underground in a small town called 'Tau' which is also where you live.
  1265.
  1266. >
  1267.
1268. "So what did you learn?" you ask.
1269. "Nothing except that there are many places in the galaxy where the Zalan Empire has influence."
1270. "How far is Tau?" you ask.
1271. "Very close to our home system." the doctor replies.
  1272.
  1273. >
  1274.
  1275. "And the Zalan Empire?"
1276. "We have no ties to them whatsoever."
1277. "Hmm... Well, I guess we should go talk to some of the people there..." you say.
1278. "No! We need to stay here and keep working on our own investigation!"
  1279.
1280. > Ask what the aliens goal is
  1281.
1282. "Their goal is unknown. They could be trying to conquer us or something else entirely."
1283. "Then what should we do?" you ask.
1284. "Find out more about these abductions first of all."
  1285.
1286. > "Thank you for your cooperation doctor. I now free you of your mortal coil to be judged by the emperor for your heresay." Shoot doctor with mind bullet
  1287.
1288. You shoot the doctor in the chest with a high powered energy beam. His body disintegrates instantly. You walk over to the unconscious bodies of your two captives and pick them up.
  1289.
1290. > Wake miranda and reginald
  1291.
1292. You wake up Miranda and Reginald and see that they are both awake.
1293. "Good job kid," you say. "Now I want you two to go gather any evidence you can find on the Zalan Empire's activities."
  1294. "Yes sir!" they reply.
  1295.
  1296. >
  1297.
  1298. "Let's go."
1299. You lead them to the door of their room and open it.
1300. "Come on, let's go," you say. "I don't want to leave you guys alone together for too much longer."
1301. They nod and follow you outside.
  1302.
  1303. >
  1304.
1305. You walk along the corridor and enter a large foyer. There are several doors leading off of it, but only one leads inside. You decide to check out the other rooms first since you suspect that they might contain valuable information on the Zalan Empire.
  1306.
  1307. >
  1308.
1309. You walk past the kitchen and enter a bedroom. It looks fairly clean, but you're not paying attention to anything else so you don't notice the dead bodies laying on the floor when you step into the room.
  1310.
  1311. > Examine the bodies
  1312.
1313. You turn around and stare at the corpses. Each one has its throat slashed, though it doesn't appear that they had been killed recently. One of them is even missing an arm.
1314. "Oh my god..." you whisper to yourself. "This isn't right."
  1315.
1316. > Have reginald take point
  1317.
1318. You order Reginald to take the lead while you search the house. You start looking under beds, drawers and cabinets. Eventually you find a metal box with a latch on top and carefully lift it up.
  1319.
  1320. >
  1321.
1322. Inside is a bunch of wires and tubes connected to various machines.
1323. "Is this what they used to kidnap people?" you ask.
  1324. "Probably, yes."
1325. "Can I use this to help us track down who did it?" you ask.
  1326. "Of course."
  1327.
  1328. >
  1329.
  1330. "Great, thanks."
1331. You put the box back and close the lid. Then you hear voices coming from another room.
1332. "Hey, what are you doing? Don't touch that stuff!" one of them shouts.
1333. "It's for tracking aliens," you explain.
  1334.
  1335. >
  1336.
1337. "But how do we know it won't just kill us if we touch it?"
1338. "Because I'm going to make sure it doesn't."
1339. The pair of them begin arguing again, but you ignore them and continue searching the house.
  1340.
  1341. >
  1342.
1343. Finally you come across a desk with several files on it. You open one and find a report written by a Captain Vahlat about an incident that occurred in Tau. The captain mentions that the aliens came from somewhere in the area near Tau, but didn't specify exactly where.
  1344.
1345. > Record the report and look through other files
  1346.
1347. You open up the file and begin reading it.
  1348. Year: 2075
1349. Location of abduction: Tau Sector, Milky Way Galaxy
1350. A group of four individuals was captured by the aliens. Two males, two females and a child.
  1351.
  1352. >
  1353.
1354. All were abducted from Tau. After being taken to the ship, they were interrogated for three days before they gave a full confession. Apparently, the aliens wanted to study them and the captain said she would give them whatever treatment they needed.
  1355.
  1356. >
  1357.
1358. She also mentioned that they would be released after the fourth day.
1359. Afterwards, the aliens took them to a place called 'Kolat' which is apparently a city-like planetoid.
  1360.
  1361. >
  1362.
1363. She also says that the aliens tried to force them to work there as well, but they refused.
1364. "So basically what happened is, the aliens kidnapped four humans and then forced them to work for them for three days before releasing them," you say.
  1365. "Yeah, I guess so."
  1366.
  1367. > Keep reading report
  1368.
1369. On the fourth day, the aliens returned to Kolat and left them there. They never showed up again.
1370. They claim that they will return soon, but nobody knows where or when. Nobody knows why either...
  1371.
1372. > Declare to my retinue that we are going to kolat
  1373.
1374. You tell your retinue to go to Kolat immediately. They all agree and begin preparing themselves for the trip.
  1375.
  1376. >
  1377.
1378. "We should get some rest before we set off," you say.
1379. "Okay, but what happens if something goes wrong?" asks Cara.
1380. "Then we'll just have to deal with it later," you reply. "Now let's get ready."
  1381.
1382. > Lay down and think about what we might encounter on kolat
  1383.
1384. Your eyes close and you drift off to sleep.
  1385.
  1386. >
  1387.
1388. When you wake up, you realize that you've woken up in a strange bed. There's no sheets or pillow, only a thin cotton sheet over you. The room itself is dimly lit and cold; like it hasn't been cleaned since yesterday morning.
  1389.
  1390. > Another nightmare?
  1391.
1392. You rub your eyes and see nothing amiss. You sit up and check your surroundings, but can't find anything out of the ordinary.
1393. "What time is it?" you ask aloud.
  1394. "Almost noon."
1395. "I guess I slept through the night,"
  1396.
1397. > Ask if we have arrived at kolat
  1398.
  1399. "Yes, we're here."
1400. "Good, because I don't want to spend any more time in this room. Let's get out of here."
1401. You walk towards the door and notice that it seems to be made of wood rather than metal. It feels very sturdy though.
  1402.
1403. > Head to command bridge of ship
  1404.
1405. You hurry along the corridor until you reach the command bridge. As you enter, you see a single console with several buttons and dials.
1406. "Sir, we need to speak to someone higher up."
  1407. "Who is it?
  1408.
1409. > Enter kolat with retinue
  1410.
1411. You press the button and a voice comes through.
1412. "This is Captain Vorpatril, reporting for duty."
1413. "Captain Vorpatril, what brings you aboard our vessel?" you ask.
1414. "My name is Captain Vorpatril and I serve as the commanding officer of this vessel."
  1415.
1416. > "I am inquistor john of the ordos xenos. I am here on kolat searching for aliens abducting imperial citizens. You and your crew will aide my investigation."
  1417.
1418. "Very good sir, I will pass this information onto my officers."
  1419. "Thank you sir!"
1420. You turn around and leave the bridge. You walk along the corridors until you arrive at a large hangar bay. A few ships line its walls, but none of them are yours.
  1421.
1422. > Tell miranda to psychically detect aliens in our area
  1423.
1424. You stand in front of the hangar doors and press your hands against them. You feel a slight breeze blow past you and you hear a small buzzing noise coming from inside the hangar.
1425. "Hmm, not much life here..." you mutter to yourself.
  1426.
  1427. >
  1428.
1429. You walk into the hangar and start walking towards one of the larger ships. Suddenly, you sense an alien presence nearby. You quickly move back and press your palms against the doors to prevent yourself from being teleported away.
1430. "Ah, it's alive! What do we do now?"
  1431.
  1432. > Examine the alien
  1433.
1434. You look at the alien and try to read its mind. It's too dark to make out most of its face, but you manage to discern some basic features: a long snout, two sharp teeth, large eyes and a short neck.
  1435.
1436. > A kroot! This is a tau plot afterall
  1437.
1438. You continue to study the alien and attempt to determine its intentions. It begins speaking in a language you don't understand.
1439. "It appears that we are being attacked by a kroot! We must defend ourselves!" it exclaims.
  1440.
1441. > Mind blast the kroot before if can call for help
  1442.
1443. You send a mental attack at the alien. Its defenses are strong enough to withstand your assault, but you decide to end this fight swiftly.
1444. "Mind blast me!" you shout and fire a beam of psychic energy at the alien.
1445. The beam hits and instantly vaporizes the creature.
  1446.
1447. > "We need to locate the etheral on this station to halt their plans."
  1448.
1449. You walk forward and scan the entire room. You spot a figure sitting in a chair near the far wall. He looks up and sees you, but doesn't react in any way.
1450. "Who are you?" he asks.
1451. "A friend sent me to investigate these attacks on our people."
  1452.
  1453. > Read the man's mind
  1454.
1455. You focus your attention on his mind and begin reading his thoughts.
1456. "I'm sorry, but I can't tell you who sent you. My superiors would kill me if they found out."
  1457. "Well...who are you?
  1458.
  1459. >
  1460.
1461. And why did you come here anyway?"
1462. "I'm a member of the Ordos Xenos. Our leader has requested that I meet with you."
  1463. "Ordos? That's where the krismi-users live?"
  1464. "
  1465.
1466. > "I am inquistor john. What is your name?"
  1467.
  1468. "John."
  1469. "How old are you?"
  1470. "I'm twenty-three years old."
1471. "So you must be one of those creatures attacking us?
  1472.
1473. > "I am here to put an end to the attacks."
  1474.
1475. "But I thought you were here to stop them from kidnapping children.
  1476.
1477. > "Purging the aliens will end the attacks and the kidnappings"
  1478.
1479. "I know, but there is something else going on. The aliens have been using etheric powers to take over the minds of Imperial citizens. They've even taken control of the military forces stationed here."
1480. "That's impossible! How could they possibly do such a thing?
  1481.
1482. > "We will have to be discreet then. The aliens are lead by a powerful psyker that enables it to control the citizens."
  1483.
1484. "What?! Impossible! Who would be able to do such a thing? And how could they possibly control so many people without anyone noticing?
  1485.
1486. > Tell 'john' to assist with the investigation
  1487.
  1488. "I'll accompany you."
  1489. "Good, let's go."
  1490.
1491. You both walk down the hallways and find yourself in a large conference room. Several figures sit around a table discussing something. You notice several other similar rooms like this one throughout the ship.
  1492.
1493. > Search for clues leading to the etherals location
  1494.
1495. You walk further into the room and see several more figures sitting around a table. One of them speaks up.
1496. "Sir, we've detected an etheral ship approaching our sector. It should be arriving soon."
1497. "Excellent, I want all of our ships to converge on it immediately."
  1498.
  1499. >
  1500.
  1501. "Yes, sir."
1502. "Then we'll wait for it to get within range. If it tries anything funny, we'll destroy it. Now who wants to play?"
1503. You nod and everyone raises their hand.
  1504.
  1505. >
  1506.
1507. "Alright then, what happens next?"
1508. "We use the ships shields as a shield to protect us from whatever the etheral does. Then we open fire on it."
1509. "Very good. I think that covers everything."
  1510.
1511. > This is surprisingly easy. Take 'john' to another room without people
  1512.
1513. You head back to the room where you left John and leave him there. You then enter another door and exit the room entirely.
  1514.
1515. > Ask john about the military here
  1516.
1517. "I don't know much about the military, but I do know that they're not allowed inside this place. I was told that the aliens are very powerful and we'd be destroyed if we got close to them.
  1518.
1519. > Ask how he knows this
  1520.
1521. "They said that the aliens are powerful because they're psionic. They also said that the humans here aren't very strong either, so we wouldn't stand a chance against them."
1522. "Hmm, well I guess we'll just have to keep our distance from them then.
  1523.
  1524. > Read john's mind
  1525.
1526. You read through John's mind.
  1527.
  1528. >
  1529.
1530. "The aliens are extremely powerful. They can easily take over the minds of normal human beings, but they can't do that to us. We're stronger than they are."
1531. "Hmmm, yes I suppose you're right. So what happened when you tried to attack them?
  1532.
1533. > Tell john to wait here as i go back to the room with the military
  1534.
1535. "No, I need to stay here. The only way I can defeat these aliens is by myself."
1536. "Wait, are you sure? You haven't fought any alien yet!
  1537.
1538. > Tell reginald to keep john in this room and to shoot him if he tries to leave
  1539.
1540. "Reginald, I need you to keep john safe. He needs to stay here and fight off the aliens alone until I return."
  1541. "Of course sir!"
  1542.
1543. > Ask the military if the wtheral ship is in range yet
  1544.
1545. "It's coming out of hyperspace, we're almost there now."
1546. "Oh great, I knew it! Let me at least get some soldiers to guard the gate while I'm gone!"
1547. "No, no soldier can come with you. Only John can go with you.
  1548.
1549. > Ask why everyone thinks john is important
  1550.
1551. "Because he's the captain of this ship. I mean look at his uniform, it says Captain on it."
1552. "Well that explains why nobody has tried to kill him before..."
1553. "Yeah, but I still feel safer with him here.
  1554.
1555. > Explain that john told me they were all being mind controlled by the etheral
  1556.
1557. "John told me that the etheral is controlling the minds of all the soldiers here. That's why they're acting weird."
1558. "So, we need to kill all those etherals and free them from their control.
  1559.
1560. > "So you are not being mind controlled right now?"
  1561.
1562. "Nope, I'm fine. But if you really believe that, then you might want to reconsider your decision to join the army."
1563. "I won't make that choice for you...but thanks anyway."
  1564. "Don't mention it."
  1565.
1566. > Order them to fire all weapons at the etheral ship
  1567.
  1568. "Okay, let's do this."
  1569.
1570. You command the entire ship to fire upon the etheral ship. As expected, it doesn't take long before you begin seeing its defenses fail. The etheral ship begins falling apart and disintegrating as its crew attempts to escape aboard pods.
  1571.
1572. > "Fire on the escape pods too. Let none survive"
  1573.
1574. You order the firing of every weapon available on board the ship. You hope that will cause enough damage to break through the enemy defense and allow you to reach the escape pods.
  1575.
  1576. >
  1577.
1578. Unfortunately, you didn't account for the fact that the etheral ship is made up of multiple smaller craft, each armed with different types of weaponry. You soon find yourself fighting an endless battle against the various weapons used by these small crafts.
  1579.
1580. > Tell miranda to identify the ship with the etheral leader on it
  1581.
1582. "Miranda, I need you to tell me which one this is."
1583. "This is the etheral leader."
1584. "What kind of ship is it?
  1585.
1586. > Order the military to focus all weapons on the etheral leader's ship
  1587.
1588. "Everyone, focus on the leader's ship! It must be damaged or something."
1589. "Sir, we can't hit anything else!"
1590. "Then concentrate on hitting the leader's ship!"
  1591.
1592. You order your troops to fire upon the etheral ship.
  1593.
  1594. >
  1595.
1596. Unfortunately, due to the small size of the craft, it takes several shots to destroy it completely. The etheral ship falls into pieces and explodes, killing most of your men along with themselves.
  1597.
1598. > "With the leader dead, the citizens and military are free from mind control now. Destroy the rest of the enemy ships"
  1599.
1600. You order your troops to destroy the other two ships. Unfortunately, they manage to bring down both of them without much trouble. The last thing you see is a large explosion taking place near the planet surface.
  1601.
  1602. > Ask for a damage report
  1603.
1604. "We have destroyed the two remaining enemy ships. All civilians are safe."
1605. "Good job sir. Now where did the leader go?"
1606. "He was killed by our own troops during his escape pod crash landing on this world.
  1607.
1608. > Tell the military to conduct patrols to kill any remaining aliens on the world
  1609.
1610. "Yes, we should continue doing this. If anyone comes across an alien, they should kill it immediately."
1611. "But sir, the etheral ships are still attacking us! What are we going to do if they start destroying the planet?"
1612. "Kill them with everything we got."
  1613.
1614. > Go back to the room with reginald and john
  1615.
1616. "Hey, I think the etheral ships are starting to lose interest in this world. They'll probably head back to their home planet."
1617. "Maybe. We just need to keep shooting at them until they run out of fuel and explode.
  1618.
1619. > "John, i have questions about your involvement in this alien plot. Answer them truthfully, and you will not incur my wrath."
  1620.
1621. "I know what you mean, but I don't like the idea of having to kill innocent people. Besides, I am only following orders."
1622. "Alright then, but you better not lie to me again.
  1623.
1624. > Ask how the aliens were able to take so many citizens
  1625.
1626. "They had a lot of help. Like I said, they were using the same technology that the etheral ships use."
1627. "How did they get away with it?"
1628. "The only way is if we didn't notice them at all.
  1629.
1630. > Ask who helped the aliens
  1631.
1632. "A group of space pirates called the Black Hand. They are a bunch of criminals who rob ships and sell the loot to buy new vessels."
1633. "Oh, well that makes sense. So when did they show up?
  1634.
1635. > Handcuff john and send him to the inquistion for interragation
  1636.
1637. "John, you're under arrest for treason. I suggest you answer my questions honestly."
  1638. "I...I don't remember anything..."
  1639. "Answer the question.
  1640.
1641. > Tell reginald to take john back to my ship
  1642.
1643. "Reginald, take john back to my ship. He's been lying to me for far too long."
1644. "Sir, he's been telling the truth."
1645. "Well either way, I'm sending him back to you. Good luck with your interrogation."
  1646. >
