A vision on the slopes
'Our group has reached the top of the mountain. Up here the snow reflects the sun so brightly, one begins to see all sorts of unlikely things...'

Mirages?
'The visions are common to all, sometimes. Sometimes, I seemed to be experiencing something unique...'
The shared hallucinations were perhaps born of shared fears. Bears, wolves and snow-leopards materialised in the fractured light as branches shifted under their heavy loads of snow.
What I saw, though, were scenes from Europe: Alpine scenes, as if I were transported back to those heights and to a much younger self. Could I blame the sunshine alone for this?
