- Install Composer
- Laravel utilizes Composer to manage its dependencies. First, download a copy of the composer.phar. Once you have the PHAR archive, you can either keep it in your local project directory or move to usr/local/bin to use it globally on your system. On Windows, you can use the Composer Windows installer.
- Installation - Windows#
- Using the Installer#
- This is the easiest way to get Composer set up on your machine.
- Download and run Composer-Setup.exe, it will install the latest Composer version and set up your PATH so that you can just call composer from any directory in your command line.
- Note: Close your current terminal. Test usage with a new terminal: That is important since the PATH only gets loaded when the terminal starts.
- Open Command Prompt/ Terminal in Windows:
- Run the following Line:
- php -r "readfile('https://getcomposer.org/installer');" | php
- Create a new composer.bat file alongside composer.phar:
- echo @php "%~dp0composer.phar" %*>composer.bat
- Close your current terminal. Test usage with a new terminal:
- composer –V
- For global:
- php composer.phar global require fabpot/php-cs-fixer:dev-master
- We will now use Composer to install the dependencies of the project. If you don't have a composer.json file in the current directory please skip to the Basic Usage chapter.
- To resolve and download dependencies, run the install command:
- composer init
- If you did a global install and do not have the phar in that directory run this instead:
- composer install
- Or you can update with the following code
- composer update
- Install Laravel in Xampp
- Run command prompt or Terminal with the following instruction
- Go to start menu and type run -> cmd hit enter for terminal
- And then Go to htdocs folder in xampp with prompt / terminal: c:\XAMPP\htdocs
- Via Composer Create-Project
- You may also install Laravel by issuing the Composer create-project command in your terminal:
- composer create-project laravel/laravel --prefer-dist
- Configuration
- Laravel needs almost no configuration out of the box. You are free to get started developing! However, you may wish to review the app/config/app.php file and its documentation.
