  8. [13:01] <MihiraTheTiger> deku's mom has a quirk
  9. [13:01] <MihiraTheTiger> oh wait i misread

  13. [13:02] <Iwamiger> I think it went something along the lines of
  14. [13:02] <Iwamiger> deku's mom was related to shimura, maybe her daughter or the person her son married
  15. [13:03] <Iwamiger> AFO spared her when he killed shimura for whatever reason, maybe she made a deal with him
  16. [13:03] <MihiraTheTiger> i think deku's mom is a bit young to be her daughter
  17. [13:03] <MihiraTheTiger> but alright
  18. [13:03] <Iwamiger> deku was born with a quirk, maybe a quirk that was also in shimura's family or something I don't remember
  19. [13:04] <Iwamiger> and deku's mom was worried that that meant deku might learn about all that and try to go after AfO, or maybe she was just worried about him being a hero in general
  20. [13:04] <Iwamiger> so she went to AfO and got him to remove deku's quirk
  21. [13:04] <Iwamiger> and that doctor made up the whole story about "look at this pinky toe"
  22. [13:05] <Iwamiger> I feel like there's a lot of holes in it probably
  23. [13:05] <Iwamiger> but AfO's doctor does look an awful lot like Deku's doctor for whatever reason
  24. [13:05] <Iwamiger> deku's mom did say some stuff about "I'm so sorry" back when he was a kid and wanted to be a hero
  25. [13:05] <Iwamiger> she DOES share the same hairstyle as shimura OpieOP
  26. [13:05] <Iwamiger> I mean it obviously could be nothing at all
  27. [13:05] <Iwamiger> OR
  28. [13:05] <Iwamiger> it could be something
  29. [13:05] <Iwamiger> that's the "wild theory" part
  30. [13:06] <MihiraTheTiger> but uhhh
  31. [13:06] <MihiraTheTiger> if there was a quirk in the shimura family
  32. [13:06] <Iwamiger> I think the part with deku's dad being missing was that AfO decided to take Deku's mom as his "wife" as another way to strike at AM in the future or something
  33. [13:07] <MihiraTheTiger> wouldn't the mom have it instead of "slightly attracting stuff"?

  35. [13:07] <Iwamiger> you saw how many times it took for endeavor to get the fire-ice quirk passed down
  36. [13:07] <Iwamiger> maybe it was a weaker expression for her
  37. [13:08] <Iwamiger> and deku was able to use it almost like the force or something
  38. [13:08] <Iwamiger> lol

  47. [13:09] <MihiraTheTiger> also isn't quirk-removal actually quite dangerous?
  48. [13:09] <Iwamiger> I assume AfO didn't care about making it gentle for random superheros
  49. [13:09] <MihiraTheTiger> and how would you remove a quirk anyway

  65. [13:11] <Iwamiger> I mean ignore all the off-rail talk I did about shimura quirks and whatever
  66. [13:11] <Iwamiger> the base theory is "deku had a quirk, deku's mom went to AfO tog et it removed, maybe AfO is also deku's missing dad?"

  68. [13:12] <Iwamiger> there's nothing explictly against that with what we have so far
  69. [13:12] <MihiraTheTiger> AfO's quirk removal makes people go into a coma though

  72. [13:13] <MihiraTheTiger> pls

  74. [13:13] <Iwamiger> he didn't have any reason to be gentle about removing quirks when it was ragdoll
  75. [13:13] <Iwamiger> and besides, a kid's mind probably wouldn't be as used to using a quirk as an adult's
  76. [13:13] <Iwamiger> so it wouldn't be as, uh, mind-impacting to have it removed
  77. [13:13] <MihiraTheTiger> quirks are part of the physiology of a person though
  78. [13:13] <MihiraTheTiger> like
  79. [13:13] <MihiraTheTiger> you'd literally need to get bakugo to sweat differently
  80. [13:14] <Iwamiger> well I mean, it's like implants
  81. [13:14] <Iwamiger> people usually get cochlear implants at a young age
  82. [13:14] <Iwamiger> because it's the best time for them to learn how to speak and because there's actually less chance of rejection at that time
  83. [13:14] <Iwamiger> the idea of "kids adapt better than adults" is a thing in a lot of places
  84. [13:15] <Iwamiger> that sounds kind of vague but it's true
  85. [13:15] <MihiraTheTiger> eh
  86. [13:15] <MihiraTheTiger> i don't really like it
  87. [13:15] <MihiraTheTiger> but i guess it could happen if you twist some stuff

  90. [13:15] <Iwamiger> AfO likes breaking down people in his fights
  91. [13:16] <Iwamiger> but we can't really have him facing deku for a good while, even if he survives this fight
  92. [13:16] <Iwamiger> so he'd have to already have something I think
  93. [13:16] <Iwamiger> and what would be better than "Deku, I am your father"
  94. [13:16] <Iwamiger> but like Is aid, all this is a wild theory
