  1. Cause I haven't made a pastebin in a while. :^)
  2.
  3. On a more serious note, I believe that there is no better time than now to finally accomplish this goal that has eluded me for who knows how long. The year 2016 has easily been one of if not the best years of my life so far, as many good/great things have happened. In addition to that, I am now more motivated than ever to really give my stream the attention necessary for it to grow (hopefully above and beyond my expectations). With that being said, lets get started.
  4.
  5. Q: --- What is the TRUE road to 250 subs? ---
  6.
  7. A: The TRUE road to 250 subs is essentially me putting forth a better effort to reach the goal of hitting 250 subs.
  8.
  9. Q: --- Why 250 Subs? ---
  10.
  11. A: The system that twitch has in place rewards streamers with more emote slots based on the number of subs they have at once (so yes, the number can go down over time). At 250 subs a streamer has a total of 10 emote slots, 2 more slots than the 8 allotted at 100 subs. The next goal after that is 500 subs, which gives you a more generous 5 additional slots.
  12.
  13. Q: --- When's the road to 500? ---
  14.
  15. A: Lets see if I can actually get this one first...
  16.
  17. Q: --- Why are you doing this? ---
  18.
  19. A: I'm doing this primarily because my outlook on streaming has changed to some degree over the years. I tend to have a somewhat difficult time expressing myself when it comes to this question, so it's best that I put it all here. When I first started streaming back in 2012, I never would have imagined that this hobby of mine would turn into a source of income. Initially the primary source of income that I receive from streaming (which is sub revenue) made me feel a bit uneasy admittedly, but over time my experiences both on and outside of Twitch have given me a different perspective on it. I've met a number of cool people, a lot of passerby chatters, and twitch members who enjoy the stream to such a degree that they support the stream financially (if/when they can). I have and always will be greatly appreciative of those who have helped my stream grow over the years, whether that be from a monetary standpoint or not. I've realized that there are a number people who truly love the content that I provide through my twitch stream, and I want to give streaming an honest shot for once. However, on a platform where there's no obligation to spend money yet the option is there I prefer to be transparent about my goals. There are streamers on twitch who care nothing of the revenue that can be generated from their stream, some who care only about generated revenue, and some that are in-between. I'm somewhere in-between, I enjoy streaming for both what it brings to the table on the interactive and monetary side. The only thing that I ask of the people who want to provide monetary support to the stream is only do it when you comfortably can, that's the main thing that bothers me with what I see in other chats and in mine. (Example: OMG I'm sorry <insert streamer here> my sub ran out! When I get my next paycheck I'll sub as soon as possible! <insert crying kirby here>) There is and never will be an obligation to show monetary support on my stream to be treated better than the next guy or gal, I have no desire for a separation of chat as I call it (none of that plebs bullshit). While I do show appreciation for the gesture of subbing, I like to assume that the reasoning is that you dig the stream and have the means to support it monetarily (or maybe you just want the emotes...or both, both is nice). I hope this at least kind of gives you more insight on why I do the things I do.
  20.
  21. Q: --- Alright, so what are your plans for this TRUE road to 250 subs?
  22.
  23. A: My plan is to provide my stream with the attention necessary for it to grow. For the most part it will be what you have always seen in my stream, but I want to give more from me as others have decided to give to me. The individualistic aspect of subbing is covered through Twitch's system, and I'd prefer to keep it that way (i.e. sub emotes and sub badge + ad-free stream viewing). Therefore I plan on streaming a lot more hours a week and having incentives as subs are achieved, but the idea is that those who support in this fashion will also benefit the entire stream (in other words, spread the love). How I decide to do this might change over time (and I'll make edits to the pastebin if need be), but for now I'll be brainstorming ideas as well as looking for feedback on some of the things that I can do. I want to set up something that I can do for whenever the daily sub goal is hit on a given day (5/5) and for some progress goals (totals subs hit 150, 175, etc). At the moment there is only one incentive, and it benefits anyone who watches my stream.

  29. ----------------------
  30.
  31. I've been all over the place when it comes to streaming, but over the last 4 months I've done a TON of thinking and have a much clearer mindset about it. With that being said, this is the moment that I feel at least a few people may have hoped for. In the event that the support seems to be to such a standard that pursuing full-time streaming might be a viable option, then I will go for it. However, for the time being I will still be applying for other jobs in case things don't go in that direction (I saved money responsibly from my last job, so I'll be good for a while =]). If I make it to 250 subs before something else comes up, then I'll shift my focus over fully to streaming.
  32.
  33. So there you go, and if you read the whole thing then congratulations! Huge thank you to those who have supported me in the past, continue to support me in the present, and choose to support me in the future! Have a nice day~ ^_^
