In my religious habit, I often went all but unnoticed, and the Khan did not usually send watchers to follow me. I learned of the ambitions of Prussia and of the alliances of India. I heard that the Teutonic people in Russia were at war with the Slavic people in Romania. Much of it was probably nonsense, but I noted it all down for later evaluation.
