- Personality types : Jung's model of typology by Daryl Sharp
- https://archive.org/details/personalitytypes0000shar_k3t4
- Simplified description of the typology of Psychological Types, without the chapters on the history of the type problem. Might be good as an introduction to PT.
- Personality : the individuation process in light of C.G. Jung's typology by Carl Alfred Meier
- https://archive.org/details/personality00came
- Similar to Sharp's, but treats Jung's idea of individuation after laying out the typology.
- Conscious orientation: a study of personality types in relation to neurosis and psychosis by Johannes Hermanus van der Hoop
- https://archive.org/details/ConsciousOrientation
- Delves into typology and then its relation to psychiatry.
- Lectures on Jung's typology
- https://archive.org/details/lecturesonjungst0000unse
- Part I on the inferior function by Marie-Louise von Franz, part II on the feeling function by James Hillman.
- MBTI DERIVED
- --------
- There are a lot of studies done with MBTI, but this is a theory LARPer list, so it's mostly that. Not everything is available on archive.org, although some are available in other places.. For legal reasons, I'd rather not directly link it, and no law abiding citizen should search shadow libraries like Library Genesis. No law abiding citizen should search for studies on SciHub either, for example, on the off chance he is not a theory LARPer.
- Gifts Differing by Isabel Briggs Myers
- MBTI explained simply. Read this and Psychological Types instead of relying on misinformed Internet users. The foundation of the dichotomies and the functions stack.
- MBTI manual : a guide to the development and use of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
- https://archive.org/details/mbtimanualguidet00myer
- Broad overview of everything MBTI as established by the Myers-Briggs Foundation.
- From Image to Likeness : a Jungian path in the Gospel journey by Harold Grant, Magdala Thompson and Thomas Clarke
- https://archive.org/details/fromimagetoliken00gran
- Myers originally held the tertiary's attitude to be the opposite of the dominant's. Some disagreed and this started the controversy over the tertiary's attitude. Most MBTI type dynamics(stack) works would accept this view, and the Myers-Briggs Foundation would eventually reject type dynamics entirely in place for dichotomies.
- Please understand me : temperament, character, intelligence by David Keirsey
- https://archive.org/details/pleaseunderstand02keir
- Keirsey Temperament Sorter and his NF, NT, SP, SJ dichotomies. At this point you might be wondering why concepts now commonly shared on the Internet were all authored by different people. Well,
- It Takes All Types! by Alan Brownsword
- https://archive.org/details/ittakesalltypes0000brow
- The 'modern synthesis' of this field: here, the union between dichotomies and functions("INFJs are perceivers because of dominant Ni") now popular on the Internet was established. Brownsword viewed Myers, Jung, Keirsey and as all parts of one unified typology.
- True to Type: Answers to the Most Commonly Asked Questions About Interpreting The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator by William Jeffries
- https://archive.org/details/truetotypeanswer00jeff
- What it says on the tin, a reader FAQ about the MBTI. However, Jeffries went with the EIEI(dominant and tertiary share the same attitude) stack.
- In the Grip: Our Hidden Personality by Naomi Quenk
- Wherein Quenk discusses the tertiary and inferior, up to then largely ignored in MBTI stack/type dynamics. Surprisingly for the time, it's agnostic about the tertiary's attitude.
- John Beebe started the eight function model and related it to archetypes. A thorough explanation of it available for free:
- Dynamics of Personality Type: Understanding and Applying Jung’s Cognitive Processes by Linda Berens
- Follows Beebe's model, but places it within type dynamics/the stack, rather than archetypes. Would influence Dario Nardi(who I mention because I've seen him at least talked about a little in online places), who also coauthored Understanding Yourself and Others: An Introduction to the Personality Type Code with her.
- Personality Type: An Owners Manual by Leonore Thomson
- Thomson tries to connect MBTI type dynamics with brain lateralization. Dario Nardi also explores this more neurological approach.
- The Case Against Type Dynamics by James Reynierse
- https://www.capt.org/research/article/JPT_Vol69_0109.pdf
- Criticism leveled at the stack/type dynamics as unrepresentative of MBTI dichotomies. Published in the Journal of Psychological Types, *the* MBTI journal, so as close as you can get to an official counterpoint.
- Developing Type: A history from Jung to today by Peter Geyer
- Developing Models and Beliefs: Reviewing Grant, Thompson & Clarke's Image to Likeness after 20 years of life and type by Peter Geyer

- Psychetypes : a new way of exploring personality by Michael Malone
- https://archive.org/details/psychetypesaneww0000malo
- Is your main problem with Jungian typology that it's not schizophrenic enough, but you think MBTI is the problem, not just the stack? Why, someone thought to write a book like that.
- Shakespeare and Jungian typology : a reading of the plays by Kenneth Tucker
- https://archive.org/details/shakespearejungi0000tuck
- Jungian literary criticism including his typology, against all odds.
