- - Started the game!
- - Professor Kukui took me to Iki Town
- - Kahuna was nowhere to be found, so I followed Lillie to a bridge
- - Nebby got away from Lillie's bag and was attacked by Spearows in the bridge
- - When I tried to save Nebby from the Spearows, Nebby unleashed some power that broke the bridge, causing us both to fall
- - We were rescued by Tapu Koko, who also dropped a Shining Stone that Lillie passed over to me
- - We returned to town and met the Kahuna, who gave me my first Pokemon, Tony the Jolly Litten, from among the three starter choices
- 2016/11/22
- - As I was leaving, a kid named Hau (apparently the Kahuna's grandson) came and challenged me to a battle with his Rowlet
- - I beat Hau and then the impressed Kahuna borrowed my Shining Stone, supposedly to figure out what Tapu Koko saw in me
- - I came home to introduce Tony to Mom; Mom really adored Tony
- - The next day, Kukui invited me to come to Iki Town for the festival, while also showing me how to catch Pokemon on the way
- - I battled Hau at the festival and beat him again
- - The Kahuna returned my Shining Stone, now as an Island Challenger thingy
- - The next day, Lillie came and brought me to Kukui's lab (which is also where Lillie herself lived)
- - Kukui had Rotom possess my Pokedex
- - Lillie then guided me to the School to begin my education
- 2016/11/23
- - At the school, I beat all four Trainers and then the Teacher
- - Lillie then guided me to the Hau'oli City. We met a Tauros on the way, whom I tried to pet, but it left
- - In Hau'oli City, I burned all my money on clothes and a haircut
- - At Marina Harbor (in Hau'oli City still), a pair of Team Skull dudes tried to attack Ilima, a Trial Captain
- - After beating the Team Skull dudes, Ilima challenged me and lost
- - I left Hau'oli City, checked out the Cemetery nearby, and then headed north further
- - The same Team Skull dudes tried to bully a Berry Guy, but I beat them again and they ran away
- - I then found and captured the second addition to my main party: V the Bold Cutiefly
- 2016/11/24
- - Found Ilima in front of Verdant Cavern and started up my First Trial!
- - Had to find three hiding mons. After finding two Rattattas, I got attacked by Team Skull, who then helped me corner the third mon: Raticate
- - Finally, I went to get the Z-Crystal and fought a Totem Raticate
- - With the Z-Crystal (Normalium-Z), I headed off to Route 3, looking for Lillie who was missing
- - I found Lillie at Oricorio Meadows, trying to get Nebby (as usual)
- - After bringing Nebby back and leaving Oricorio Meadows, I got challenged by Hau
- - After beating Hau, I continued down until I reached Iki Town, and challenged Kahuna Hala
- - His Crabrawler used a Z-Move, but V had 4x resistance and survived, wheeee
- - After beating him, I gained the Ride Pager, which lets me summon Tauros, yay
- - With Tauros, I managed to charge south to Ten Carat Hill, where I found the third member of my party, Adil the Naughty Rockruff
- 2016/11/25
- - Re-explored various parts of Melemele Island with Tauros
- - In particular, I found the entrance to the Seaward Cave in Oricorio Meadows and picked up some items there
- - After exploring, I returned to Hau'oli City and visited Ilima to beat him up again
- - Finally, I met Kukui, Hau, and Lillie at Marina, and joined them on the ship to Akala Island!
- 2016/12/06
- - Upon arrival at Heahea City at Akala Island, we were greeted by Captain Mallow and Kahuna Olivia.
- - When heading out to Route 4, I met Dexio and Sina, who gave me a Zygarde Cube.
- - Route 4 then connected to Pamiola Town, where I met Hau and fought him there.
- - North of Pamiola Town was the Pamiola Ranch, where I met Captain Mallow, who gave me a Stoutland pager to sniff for items.
- - Up ahead in Route 5, Hau just lost to a guy named Gladion, who challenged me after that. Apparently Gladion is some dude who enjoys battling with his Type: Null, and does some work for Team Skull.
- - Further ahead, at Brooklet Hill, was Captain Lana, who gave me a Lapras pager to investigate some splashes in the water, which were all caused by WishiWashi.
- - Eventualy, I arrived at the Totem's Den, discovering that this was actually Lana'sTrial, and I need to beat up the Totem Wishiwashi.
- - Totem Wishiwashi was really difficult to beat, since only V from my main party was not weak to Water. It took a while but I finally beat it, albeit with some luck: I scored a single crit, and the Totem spent two turns on Soak (which allowed V to resist Water Gun!) and Growl.
- - V also evolved from the battle, into a Ribombee! The timing couldn't be more fitting.
- 2016/12/07
- - With the Fishing Rod that Lana gave me, I then went fishing in the Totem's Den, only to find the fourth member of my main party, Lloyd the Modest Wishiwashi!
- - Upon leaving Brooklet Hill, I went south towards Route 6, where I saved a Drifloon from the same pair of Team Skull Grunts I encountered from Melemele Island, before heading to the Royal Avenue.
- 2016/12/10
- - At the Royal Avenue, I met Hau and Gladion, and we we had a four-way battle along with a mysterious masked person (Kukui?). After the battle, Captain Kiawe came and expressed how impressed he was with the battle, and asked me to challenge him at Wela Volcano Park.
- - Captain Kiawe was, indeed, waiting for on top of Wela Volcano and I began the Fire Trial, which involved watching Marowak dances and identifying the difference between them. At each time, the different component battled me, starting from the Marowak, and then the Hiker, and finally, the Totem Salazzle, which fell easily to two of Lloyd's Scalds.
- - Captain Kiawe granted me both the Firium Z and the Charizard pager, which allows me to fly anywhere! The Firium Z also granted me access to Route 8, allowing me to advance further.
- - Upon entering Route 8, I was greeted by Colress, who gave me a Flame Charge TM. Further ahead was a Wimpod that tried to run away, but Tauros caught up to it. I caught it with a Quick Ball on turn 1.
- - I then headed to Lush Jungle for the final trial of the island. Captain Mallow asked me to bring several ingredients, all of which had Fomantis traps. She then called Lana and Kiawe to bring more stuff to cook the meal that attracted the Mega Lurantis, which got rekt by V's Bug Buzz.
- - After getting the Grassium Z from Mallow, Professor Kukui came and asked me to come with him to the Dimensional Lab in Heahea City. It was here that I met Kukui's wife, Professor Burnet, who explained how she found Lillie and Nebby unconscious on the beach about three months ago. She also said she's investigating Ultra Wormholes, something about alternate dimensions with legends about Ultra Beasts coming from the sky and being defeated by the guardians.
- - When leaving the Dimensional Lab building, I observed a thin but definite crack in the sky. I wonder what it could be...
- 2016/12/13
- - I headed south towards Diglett Tunnel, where Kahuna Olivia told me to come to Konikoni City. Further ahead, I met some members of the Aether Foundation, who are apparently trying to maintain peace and order, but are annoyed at Team Skull activities. Speaking of which, a pair of Team Skull grunts attacked me when I was about to exit the tunnel. Hau showed up at the time and we beat them up.
- - After collecting the tenth Zygarde cell, I got a call from Sina informing me that it's 10% complete, and I should go meet them to find out what that means.
- - Konikoni City was a nice lively place, with good shopping selection, TM shop, and daily happiness massages. At Olivia's shop, a Probopass came to give me a letter, informing me that Olivia is waiting for me in the Ruins of Life, which is past Memorial Hill.
- - As I was passing through Memorial Hill, a pair of Team Skull grunts were trying to kidnap a poor Slowpoke. A pair of Aether Foundation people were trying to stop them, but were unwilling to fight, so I had to step in and beat them up.
- - Afterwards, as I neared the Ruins of Life, a Team Skull Admin, Plumeria, came and challenged me. I won, obviously.
- - Finally, in front of the Ruins of Life, I met Lillie, who said Nebby was drawn towards the Ruins of Life for some reason. Olivia then arrived and challenged me to her Grand Trial!
- - After the battle, Hau showed up and told us about the Aether Foundation setting something up in Hano Grand Resort and that I should check it out. Lillie seemed uncomfortable when she heard of the Aether Foundation, so maybe it bothers her somehow? Now that I think of it, those white guys chasing Lillie in the game opening did seem like they might be from the Aether Foundation...
- - At the Hano Grand Resort, aside from a short side job of tossing Pyukumunu (or however it's spelled) back into the ocean, I met up with Faba from Aether Foundation. He invited me and Hau to visit Aether Paradise.
- - Upon entering Aether Paradise, it was explained about how Aether Paradise is meant to protect Pokemon and maintain peace. I can't help but be skeptical about this supposed "Paradise". Anyway, the employee (Wicke) escorted us to President Lusamine, who looks like she might be related to Lillie. She didn't say anything noteworthy, besides claiming to be a loving protector of all Pokemon. But then...
- - ...all of a sudden, there was a big tremor, and a portal opened up in the sky. A mysterious white creature came out of it, which I fought and defeated (PokeBalls are disabled in the Aether Paradise btw). The creature then disappeared and Lusamine showed an evil grin while she expressed her desire to obtain that creature. She clarified that this creature was an Ultra Beast from another dimension that appeared from an Ultra Wormhole (like what Professor Burnet said) and that her affection and protection for Pokemon extends even to these Ultra Beasts.
- - After all that, Wicke escorted us back to the ship, and gave us some parting gifts (big malasdas for Hau, TM Psychic TM for me; interesting contrast) before the ship took us to the third island: Ula'ula Island!
- - Oh, and Hau challenges me almost immediately upon entry to the island, and loses.
- 2016/12/16
- - Before checking out Ula'ula Island, I flew back to Konikoni City to see if I could fight the Captains. I found Mallow's house next to the shop, where she told me to come to Lush Jungle for a battle. After she left, her brother came in looking for her, telling me to make sure she brings his Wimpod back.
- - Flying to Lush Jungle, I found Mallow and her Wimpod, and I beat the former in a battle!
- - Lana's house was a bit harder to find, but evidently she was living in Konikoni City too, and the house near the pier. Upon entering, I found two little girls wanting to battle me. After beating them both, Lana came in and asked me to come outside (in front of the water) for a battle! I beat her too. By the way, her imoutos were very adorable~
- 2016/12/18
- - Me and Hau went to meet Professor Kukui in Marie Garden, where he was amazed to learn that we encountered an Ultra Beast.
- - I then headed out to meet Lillie, and then encountered none other than... PROFESSOR SAMSON OAK! Anyhow, Lillie wanted to go to the Library to learn more stuff, so I followed her.
- - At the Library, a mysterious girl named Acerola guided Lillie to a Book that wrote a story about two legendary Pokemon. From my understanding, one of them appeared from a whole in the sky, called the Moon and defeated the tapu mons who challenged. The other one was the king of Alola who acknowledged the new Pokemon. The two of them then gave birth to a new life...?
- - After that, I checked out the Cape at the north. I beat the President of the Recycling Facility, who passed his role down to his son after his son showed the guts of challenging despite watching his father lose.
- - I then headed to Route 10, towards the Bus Stop. There were a pair of Team Skull thugs there, but I beat them up and Kukui came in to join me in the bus to Mount Hokulani.
- - At Mount Hokulani, I met Molayne, who challenged me to a battle to check if I was worthy of challenging Captain Sophocles' Trial.
- 2016/12/26
- - I entered the Hokulani Observatory to meet Sophocles, who challenged me to his Trail. It involved trying to identify various audio tunes and fighting Charjabugs before facing off against Totem Vikavolt, which was destroyed by Adil's Rock Slide.
- - Sophocles and Molayne both congratulated me on the victory. Apparently it was not the kahuna, but Molayne, who selected Sophocles as a Captain for some reason. In addition to receiving the Electium Z from Sophocles, I also obtained the Steelium Z and Royal Mask from Molayne, the latter of which I was to hand to Kukui.
- - Upon returning to Marie Garden, Kukui was confronted by the Team Skull boss, Guzma. I went ahead and beat him up, before returning the mask to Kukui, who said he'd "pass it on" to the masked dude. Kukui then gave me Incinium Z for Tony.
- - I then headed to Routes 11 and 12 towards Tapu Village! At Route 12, I met the lady with the Mudsdale, who offered to let me page Mudsdale to traverse through the rocky areas of Route 12.
- - On my way to Tapu Village, I met Hau and... Gladion. Gladion said that Team Skull is looking for a Cosmog (Nebby!), which can call out a legendary Pokemon. Me and Hau tried to play dumb, but Gladion instructed us to protect Cosmog from Team Skull at all costs.
- 2016/12/27
- - Up ahead at Route 15, I came into Aether House with Hau, when two little girls attacked us. After that, Acerola arrived and revealed that she is a Trial Captain! I can't believe I didn't see that one coming!
- - Upon leaving Aether House, I found a Team Skull dude trying to steal Lillie's bag due to noticing that the bag moved. I fought off the Team Skull Grunt, and Lillie thanked me with some Luxury Balls, which she said she bought for me. Acerola then arrived and led me to the trial site.
- - The trial site was... an abandoned supermarket. Apparently the Tapu destroyed the supermarket that was built there. Anyhow, the trial simply involved taking pictures of ghost Pokemon that hovered around areas with weird things happening (conveyor belt moving on its own, floating dolls, etc) and observing a Pikachu wandering around. Eventually I was led to a small storeroom, only to discover the Totem Mimikyu right behind me! Tony's Darkest Lariat took care of it though.
- - Upon clearing the trial and obtaining Ghostium Z, I headed back to Aether House only to find Acerola and Hau fighting some Team Grunt thugs. I went to help them and ended up facing Plumeria, but she told me that if they want to retrieve the stolen Pokemon (they apparently stole a Yungoos from an Aether House kid), I need to visit them alone in Po Town.
- - On the shore of Route 15, I also met Grimsley who flipped a coin. I wagered that it was Tails, and he admired my courage, giving me the Sharpedo Pager!
- 2016/12/28
- - With Sharpedo, I was able to break rocks in the water at Route 15, making my way to Route 16. That was when I met Sina and... the other guy in a trailer, where they explained to me that the Zygarde Cores and Cells could be used to reconstruct Zygarde! I used 10 Zygarde Cells to construct Tyler the Adamant Zygarde-10%, the latest member of my main party!
- - I moved onwards to the red Oricorio Meadows, and checked out the Lake of the Sunne on the side. It was a long passage that led to some big altar, but nothing actually happened so I assume this will be relevant later (along with the Lost Ruins in Akala).
- - Moving on, I headed to Route 17, towards Po Town. I found a police station but... it was filled with Meowth and no humans inside. Did Team Skull take over the police station too...?
- - Po Town was guarded by a pair of Team Skull grunts. Upon entering though, it seems Po Town was a complete mess, and there were Team Skull grunts everywhere with barricades. Even the Pokemon Center was manned by Team Skull grunts who charged 10 pokeyen for a party heal.
- - Up at the end of Po Town was the Shady House, which is kinda like the Team Skull HQ, I guess? It was pretty fun navigating through it and finding Team Skull dudes chilling around. The password was also pretty nice, requiring me to give the three correct answers and then reply "No" when the guy asks if I'm sure of my answers. Finally, I made it to Guzma and asked him to return Yungoos, before beating him up. I also claimed the Bugunium Z that he left behind, though the fact that he possesses it makes me wonder if he used to be a Captain...
- - Upon leaving the Shady House, I met this old police officer who seemed really familiar. Acerola showed up and addressed him as Uncle Nanu, praising him for being stationed near Po Town to watch for Team Skull troublemakers.
- 2016/12/29
- - Me and Acerola returned to Aether House with the Yungoos, only to find Hau and the kids really worried and upset. Hau explained that Plumeria came back and captured Lillie, who refused to allow Nebby to save her this time. Plumeria also called Lillie a thief.
- - Gladionn barged in immediately, surprised that the Cosmog (Nebby) was with Lillie and angry that we couldn't protect her. He fought me in a rage, but I beat him. Still furious, he demanded that we both go to the ferry at the pier to rescue Lillie.
- - I flew to the pier at Marie City, but Hau didn't arrive yet. Officer Nanu showed up, however, and revealed that he was actually the kahuna. After beating him, he told me to head on my way (to rescue Lillie) but that I should try not to trash the whole place.
- - Hau finally arrived, and Gladion took us both to... Aether Paradise! I knew there was something shady going on over there! Though I didn't think they'd be working with Team Skull, but I suppose that's not confirmed yet.
- - The three of us reached the elevator, but can't access the lower levels. When we went up to the entrance, we were greeted by Branch Administrator Faba. He seemed to know Gladion really well. Anyhow, I beat him up, and Gladion then got him to unlock the elevator so we can reach the lower levels.
- - At the lowest level, Gladion split up from us to Secret Lab A. He told me that there's nothing there, but that this was the place he was familiar with in the past. He described himself as being like an ornament to his mother, doing exactly what she wanted him to do, and that Type:Null was similar in that it was specifically designed for one purpose.
- - Me and Hau checked out Secret Lab B, beating up the employees there but not finding Lillie or Nebby. We did, however, find some reports detailing about how Professor Mohn discovered a different dimension beyond the Ultra Wormholes which have Pokemon-like life dubbed as Ultra Beasts. Furthermore, it seems Cosmog is suspected of being an Ultra Beast from the different dimension, named Ultra Space, and that Cosmog reveals the power to create and open Ultra Wormholes when under sufficient stress in order to escape from suffering. And the Aether Foundation is building a device to manipulate those Ultra Wormholes...
- - Gladion grumbled about how Faba probably knew this would be a dead end, and then ran off. With Gladion out, I checked out Secret Lab A and learned some stuff there. It seems Type:Null was originally meant to be a Beast Killer named Type:Full that would run a special RKS system that was developed with 18 special memories (18 types?). However, the three models of Type:Full all rejected the RKS System and went berserk. They were then fitted with control masks to keep them under control and were supposed to be cryogenically frozen for eternity. Some blog posts from a person named F (Faba?) revealed that they developed a device to restrain a dangerous lifeform (Type:Null's mask?) and that the family of F's superior (Gladion, the son of Lusamine?) stole the results of their research (one of the three Type:Null models?) and ran off.
- - Back to the Entrance Level, a bunch of Aether Employees tried to stop us but the three of us beat them. Miss Wicke showed up on our side, addressing Gladion as Young Master, healing our Pokemon, and informing us that Lillie is with Lusamine but they were locked out. We headed for the door anyway, only to find Faba trying to have his revenge. He had the key too, so if he just continued hiding then we'd have been stuck, as Hau pointed out.
- - Across the door outside, we found... a bunch of Team Skull thugs. Gladion couldn't beat Guzma, but I went ahead to beat him up instead. I entered the building, only to find Lusamine and Lillie. Here it was revealed that Lusamine was Lillie's mother (no surprise there) who stole Cosmog (oh, wait, F was actually talking about Lillie?), but Lusamine does not acknowledge Lillie as being her daughter
- - Further ahead, we all got together to a big room where poor Hau was shocked to discover that Lillie and Gladion were Lusamine's children. Anyhow, Lusamine used poor Cosmog (trapped in some box) to open not just one Wormhole, but multiple Wormholes all over Alola. There was a nice scene where Kahuna Hala encounters an insect-like Ultra Beast and then Tapu Koko arrives to fight it off. Back in my location, Gladion approached the Ultra Beast (same as the one that appeared last time in Aether Paradise) with Type:Null that was designed to slay them while Hau was dealing with Guzma, leaving me to deal with Lusamine.
- - After defeating Lusamine's entire party with just V alone, Lusamine refused to back down and wanted to capture the Ultra Beast. At this point, it seemed that the Ultra Beast was disappearing... possibly returning to its own dimension? Both Lusamine and Guzma pursued the Ultra Beast and disappeared with it. Although we no longer had to deal with Lusamine and Guzma for now, the damage was already done. We recovered Nebby, but it changed into a new forme and wasn't moving at all. At this point, we decided to put our hope in the legendary Pokemon, and Gladion gave me a Sun Flute, stating that the legendary Pokemon could supposedly be called using both the Sun Flute and the Moon Flute. Despite everything that happened, Gladion and Lillie still wanted to save their mother from the Ultra Space. Lillie insisted that she sleep on the same bed that she once slept with her beloved mother a long time ago.
- - Upon waking up and getting out, I found Lillie in a whole new state. She was wearing new clothes, had her hair tied back into a ponytail, and sounded a lot more excited and determined, as opposed to the shy and nervous Lillie we knew before. Gladion apologized for leaving her behind with Lusamine long ago, but insisted that he needed to save Type:Null. Along with Hau, the four of us took the ship to the last of the four islands: Poni Island!
- 2016/12/30
- - Before that, I decided to fly to Ula'ula Island to see if I could fight some Captains. But... I talked to both Acerola and Sophocles (and Molayne too) but neither of them seemed interested in battling. I did, however, check out Haina Desert, realizing that I only needed to clear the Ghost Trial to unlock it. It was super confusing to navigate, which definitely did not follow normal area connections, and even had an infinite loop when heading west at some point! Anyhow, I did manage to find a Psychium Z at an altar, which makes me wonder if this used to be a trial site in the past. I also found the Ruins of Abundance, which was blocked by big blocks, just like the Ruins of Life in Akala. There wasn't much else of note in Haina Desert.
- - I then flew to Melemele Island, to see if Kahuna Hala would say something about his encounter with an Ultra Beast. But nope, he seemed to act as if none of that ever happened. I did, however, find a Zygarde Core at his place, which allowed Tyler to learn Thousand Arrows!
- - Back to Seafolk Village at Poni Island, me and Lillie met up with the village chief, who apparently didn't know anything about a kahuna. He did direct us to Hapu's house though, which seemed to be the only building standing outside the village.
- - When we finally reached Hapu's house, she claimed that there was no kahuna. Yeah, right, I'm pretty sure she's the kahuna of the island herself. She then invited us to follow her to some ruins. After she left, her grandma arrived, pleased to see that Hapu made some friends. She then added Machamp to the Ride Pager! When exploring Hapu's house, I found another Zygarde Core, something which I've only found in the locations of other Kahunas, now that I think about it. Furthermore, when I try to go north to Vast Poni Canyon, a guy blocks me, telling me that they need the Kahuna's permission to let me through.
- - Before following Hapu, I decided to re-explore areas with Machamp. At Ten Carat Hill, Machamp led me to an altar with Flyinium Z. At Lush Jungle, Machamp led me to an Energy Ball TM. At both the Ruins of Life and the Ruins of Abundance, I came across identical rooms with a raised altar and a statue. Touching the statue did not trigger anything, but I suspect that these might be the areas where I can encounter the respective Tapu guardians later on.
- 2017/01/02
- - I headed to the Ruins of Hope along with Lillie who was hoping that Tapu Fini would be able to help Nebby. We didn't find Tapu Fini, nor did Nebby react at all inside the ruins, but we did witness Hapu at the altar and receiving some small item. She revealed to us that the kahunas were chosen by the respective island guardians, and that she started exploring Alola in order to be worthy of inheriting her grandfather's title as kahuna. Hapu was now the kahuna of Poni Island!
- - Under Kahuna Hapu's directions, me and Lillie went to Exeggutor Island to retrieve the Moon Flute. It started raining there, so the two of us took shelter under a shade. While waiting for the rain to subside, Lillie recounted a dear memory of when she went out in the rain, and then her mother joined her when she saw how happy Lillie was. The two of them caught a cold, but Lillie never left her mother's bed. Apparently Lusamine was a wonderful mother before she changed and became obsessed with Ultra Beasts.
- - We retrieved the Moon Flute and then headed towards the Vast Poni Canyon. However, a bunch of Team Skull thugs were waiting there, demanding us to bring Guzma back. After beating them up, Plumeria came in and asked them to withdraw. She explained to us about why Guzma followed Lusamine, because she was the only one who seemed to acknowledge his strength. Plumeria entrusted us to bring Guzma back so that he can make amends, and she gave us the Poisonium Z as an apology for her own actions.
- - Before entering Vast Poni Canyon, Kahuna Hapu challenged me to a battle, as her first ever Grand Trial. After I beat her, she gave me a Groundium Z.
- - While climbing up the Vast Poni Canyon, there was a long bridge pretty high up. Lillie tried to overcome her fear of heights and faced her first trial of crossing the bridge. Despite the Murkrows getting in her way, she was able to cross it! She seemed really proud of herself for passing this trial.
- - Further ahead, I came across a wandering artist named Mina, who is technically a captain in Poni Island, but she keeps traveling around to pursue her artistic interests and doesn't really conduct trials. She gave me the Fairinium Z and walked away.
- - Eventually, we reached the end of the canyon and found an open trial gate. I crossed the gate and found an inscription indicating that this is the trial site, so I began the trial despite no Trainer being present. I could feel intense eyes glaring at me as I walked towards the pedestal, being assaulted by a Jangmo-o and then a Hakamo-o. Finally, at the pedestal, the Totem Kommo-o arrived from above. After taking it down, I claimed the Dragonium Z, clearing the final trial!
- - Hapu and Lillie congratulated my victory as we approached the altar. Me and Lillie climbed up the stairs and positioned ourselves accordingly to play the flutes. I played the Moon Flute while Lillie played the Sun Flute. This caused the altar to activate, and a beam of light was generated. Lillie's bag (containing Nebby) was drawn towards the beam of light, and Nebby then evolved... into Lunala! Nebby itself turned into the Legendary Pokemon!
- - Nebby then took both me and Lillie to the Ultra Space, where we found Guzma. Guzma tried to capture the Ultra Beasts but end up getting possessed instead. He said it was the first time he ever felt fear. After he eventually snapped out of it, he was terrified of the Ultra Beasts. He told us that Lusamine was too far gone already.
- - We went further ahead, only to find Lusamine, where she expressed how happy she was to be in this world with the beautiful Nihilego (those Ultra Beasts). She was furious about us intruding in here, and mocked our plan of "saving" her by pulling her away from the world the loved. Lillie finally mustered up the courage and confronted her mother directly, declaring that she and other people and Pokemon were all alive, scolding her mother for treating them as tools or ornaments. Lusamine was infuriated by Lillie's audacity, declaring that Lillie used to be adorable once upon a time but then she started rebelling against her mother. Lusamine turned her attention to me, accusing me of poisoning Lillie's mind and transforming her into this state. Enraged, she took out a special PokeBall to call out a big Nihilego which descended and... fused with her! The fused Lusamine then attacked with a Pokemon battle!
- - After Lusamine lost the battle, she seemed to start losing control over her fused form. Lillie gathered her resolve and called Lunala for help, who arrived and surrounded the fused Lusamine by some light. This caused the Nihilego to separate from Lusamine and return to its ball, while Lusamine collapsed to the ground. Lillie rushed to her mother who used the last of her strength to feel Lillie's face affectionately and mumbling "When did you... start becoming beautiful?", before losing consciousness.
- - The rest of the Nihilego went crazy, but Nebby showed up and got us (me, Lillie, Guzma, and the unconscious Lusamine) out. Hapu as waiting for us, really worried. She asked Guzma to take Lusamine and then left me and Lillie with Nebby. Lillie then talked to Nebby, interpreting his reactions to realize that he wanted to continue joining the both of us. But given Nebby's current state as the Legendary Pokemon, she felt it would be more appropriate if he were to explore the world alongside a strong trainer, and she requested me to face Nebby.
- 2017/01/21
- - I confronted Nebby, and captured him! Nebby the Rash Lunala has joined my party, but possibly not for my main team.
- - Lillie had a hard time parting with Nebby, giving him all sorts of motherly advice before she finally left. It was really sweet~
- - After she left, I found Nanu waiting for me near the altar. He was impressed by my battle with Nebby, and told me that I'm ready to face the final trial: facing all four Kahunas in the Pokemon League at Mount Lanakila!
- 2017/01/24
- - When trying to enter Mount Lanakila, I was challenged by Gladion, who wanted to show me how strong he got with the Z-Ring that was given by an old man (Kukui?). He was grateful for what I did for Lusamine and Lillie. On that note, I'm starting to think that Kukui (or rather, his Masked persona) is going to be the Champion for this game.
- - After the battle, he informed me of how Lillie is taking care of Lusamine in the Foundation and how she thinks of me as the "best Trainer in the world". As he leaves, he points out that while we're not friends, we're also not enemies.
- - Mount Lanakila seemed pretty short (nice music) and straightforward. Despite being all frozen and icy, there were surprisingly no ice puzzles.
- 2017/02/22
- - As I neared the Mount Lanakila peak, Hau finally caught up to me. He challenged me to a final battle, only to get solo'd by Tyler. He told me about how it would be great if he could've pulled off a comeback at this stage (which I'd have to agree with, tbh) and that I better win in the League now. He left, saying that he's going to keep getting stronger, until he can beat me and his grandfather... wait, he still hasn't beaten Hala after all this time?
- - And now, time for the ELITE FOUR! Kukui talks about how he fought Lance in Kanto's E4... wait, what? Could it be possible that Kukui = Red? Or Kukui = Gold? That would be amazing!
- - I checked out the E4 without saving. Hala and Olivia come back for second battles. Nanu felt obligated to serve Ula'ula Island but couldn't care less about the E4, so Acerola came in his place. Finally, Kahili is the only new character here, a golfer that used to be the champion years ago.
- - After lots of trial runs without saving (note that No-Deaths-No-Items means I only have one chance of actually clearing the E4, so I can only save when I'm sure it's a victorious run), I finally took them on for real:
- - Kahili: I took her on first because three of her mons (Mandibuzz, Oricorio, and Crobat) abuse confusion status, so I wanted to get the chance-based retrying over with. Tony FlareBlitz'd Skarmory with a Shell Bell to help endure the recoil, and then Adil killed everything else with Rock Slides. Needed plenty of retries to ensure that Adil gets lucky enough to overcome confusion / activate Quick Claw / get hit by something weak like Air Slash from the three confusers.
- - Acerola: Went with her next because of confusion status too, but only from Frosslass this time. V opened up with a clean OHKO on Sableye (got Faked Out, but not flinching from it), Adil overcame his confusion while OHKOing Frosslas with Rock Slide, Lloyd OHKO'd Palossand while being faster too (wow), and Tony 2HKO'd each of Dhelmise and Drifblim while Shell Bell helped keep him alive from their attacks.
- - Hala: I saved him for after Acerola so that V could be at full health after this. Yup, you can imagine how I dealt with Hala. V solo, starting with Quiver Dance x 2, and then Dazzling Gleam / Draining Kiss to kill everything while maintaining full health. Easiest E4.
- - Olivia: Somehow, my earlier trial runs didn't anticipate just how annoying her Lycanroc-N would be. She sends it out right after V EnergyBalls the opening Relicanth (because the Relicanth is super annoying without a Grass OHKO, and yes, I deleted Pollen Puff for now since my trial scouts indicated that I won't need it for the Champion), so I couldn't get a Dragon Danced Tyler against Lycanroc-N without getting hit first (unboosted 1000 Arrows not good enough). Instead, I decided to save before the fight and keep retrying until Lloyd activates Quick Claw to OHKO Lycanroc-N with Scald before it could CONTINENTAL CRUSH. Yes, I resorted to Quick Claw scumming, that's how desperate I was. V EnergyBall'd Golem because the Golem seems to abuse ThunderPunch (no Rock moves???), Lloyd used his bulk to tank Carbink (which is why it was critical that Lycanroc-N didn't get to injure Lloyd), and Tyler destroyed the Probopass which wasted its Sturdy free turn to lolSandstorm. Hardest fight in the League for me because of that annoying Lycanroc-N. Fun fact, Lycanroc-N is the only Pokemon species used in the League that was also in my main party (Adil). As for why I really needed Tyler to be at full-health, well...
- - Alright, the Champion isssssss... okay, I was actually expecting him with the mask but still Kukui! Most of my party was in bad shape, except the full-health Tyler and V. But it was Tyler who... actually... solo'd Kukui! I am not kidding. A Level ~59 Tyler (Zygarde-10%) solo'd Kukui with no items. Opened with two Dragon Dances (eating a Crunch from the Lycanroc-D who wasted its first turn on Stealth Rock), and then proceeded to fire 1000 Arrows or Rock Slide to OHKO everything. Except Magnezone, because of Sturdy, which meant that Tyler had to eat a Flash Cannon... AND SURVIVE WITH ONLY SIX HP! TYLER YOU ARE SO AWESOME YOU KNOW THAT!?
- - Aaaaaaand I became the Champion, yay! Party up at Iki Town, with everybody dancing and stuff... even Nanu, heh. Lillie took me out to cross the repaired bridge, reminiscing about when we first met, before entering the ruins and telling Tapu Koko about our experiences. Wait a minute, I have a bad feeling about this... ORAS had us fight the rival during the ending cutscenes and while I wouldn't mind fighting Hau again, I don't think I'm ready to confront a...
- - OH SNAP YOU DO HAVE TO FIGHT TAPU KOKO! Thankfully Tapu Koko used its first turn on Agility (lol, as if I have anything faster to begin with), allowing Tyler to score a clean OHKO with Thousand Arrows (instead of getting rekt by some Fairy move; I'd have to redo the Kukui fight if Tyler died here...).
- - The pics in the credits were neat, and the BGM was decent too. Poor Lana... Also, the only relevant character whose name I forgot is the Poni Island Captain... welp, she (he?) didn't leave much of an impression in her only appearance so far, I guess.
- - Post-credits, Lillie is leaving for Kanto... does this mean I won't be seeing her or Lusamine in postgame...? That's sad... And what about Gladion, did he join them or...?
