- Things in the Banjo Kazooie TAS that are TAS only or too difficult to reasonably get consistently RTA:
- QUICKCLIMBS - I am fucking serious people, STOP DOING THEM. Each one only saves .2 if you do it PERFECTLY, and to do that you need two frame perfect inputs. Most people do them too quickly as well; you need to space them out like is done in the TAS. If you beak bust too late and regrab the pole where you started it, congratulations, you just lost a whole second. STOP!
- Midair jumps just about anywhere - this is frame perfect and still too difficult to do consistently even in places where it saves several seconds.
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Lair
- Talon trot jumps for the MM witch switch jiggy - This is possible and people have gotten it many times RTA but it doesn't save enough time to go for and is very inconsistent.
- Bubblegloop Swamp witch switch skip - clipping through the neck is really dumb and requires specific camera angles that don't always work. It's not worth the time save for the inconsistency.
- Second lair beak bomb in FP lobby - this doesn't save too much time and not hitting the wall is really hard to do.
- FF Tile skip - Your coordinates need to be within about 5~ pixels for this to work.
- Grunty fight - double beak bust on Grunty is extremely difficult and only works with certain heights and hitting her at a specific spot.
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Spiral Mountain
- Beak barges off the boulders - this only saves a handful of frames and is very precise
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Mumbo's Mountain
- Jiggy overlap by Conga - to set this up the termite needs to be near the brown ramp and you have to kill it while facing a certain direction. This is really unlikely and the skip only saves a few seconds
- Damage cancel - the grublin is almost never near the jiggy in the current route to do this trick
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Treasure Trove Cove
- Beak bust + damage into Blubber's hull - you have to land perfectly on the edge of the wooden grate to smash it and take fall damage at the same time
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Clanker's Cavern
- The jump at the beginning from one side to the other - midair jump is one frame and it's very hard to space it correctly as well.
- Jumping off the rings except the first one - it's worth it to roll jump off the first ring but other than that the tiny rings are too small to consistently jump off.
- The TAS bolt cycle - no way in hell anyone is getting this RTA. The entire section after the bolt jiggy has to be absolutely perfect to make it.
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Bubblegloop Swamp
- The second to last hut jump - this is pretty dumb and barely works, don't try for it.
- Landing on the tiptup jiggy when it spawns - this is extremely precise and requires yellow last. The jump to it is frame perfect and the positioning is very finicky.
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Gobi's Valley
- ------Now here I would have said the maze switch cutscene skip, but Stiv manages to get it in runs about half the time. It's reasonable if you practice it a lot.
- Rubee Early - This trick is obsolete anyways due to FFM.
- Puzzle jiggy damage cancel - This requires that you keep the mummy alive the entire time you complete the puzzle and then perform a frame perfect trick. This saves about 2 seconds.
- Jumping off Rubee's head - MAYBE you could practice this and get it to save a bit of time but it's very hard to time cancelling text correctly also while moving in talon trot like this.
- Most other stuff in this route is obsoleted due to having beak bomb.
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Mad Monster Mansion
- -----Napper jiggy skip is not unreasonable actually and is worth it to try for in my opinion. To get it you have to let go of the stick as you are approaching Napper's jiggy and press B to leave talon trot. This way banjo is facing away from the jiggy. Then jump with no joystick input and attempt to land on the very edge of the flight pad. As you land press right and A at the same time and if done correctly will use the pad and turn Banjo towards the jiggy, extending his hitbox enough to collect the jiggy and skip the dance.
- Jumping out of windows - This is ONLY useful on the last pumpkin window. How jumping out of windows works: For one frame leaving certain windows, you have 1 frame to jump. However the game sets a default camera angle for this frame before it shifts to the actual camera position of where the window is. This default angle corresponds to the level entrance. So if you leave the pumpkin window with Loggo in it, you can actually just hold left and down a little bit and go in general enough in the right direction you need to go. However when you leave the honeycomb window you have to hold right for one frame, and then left immediately after that. For the banjo windows up above, it is too risky to screw up the jump and fall down.
- Pot egg bounces from far away - egg bounces are RNG and can easily not work if camera shifts or RNG just does not go in your favor.
- Landing on top of the church weathervane after grabbing the jiggy - Doesn't save very much time and it's pretty hard to land up there consistently.
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Freezeezy Peak
- Pipe jiggy beak bomb after yolo star - doing this requires you to do buttons + snowmen in the same flight section which can be awkward for people. The beak bomb is doable, but not realistic. By association...
- Double button + snowman - If you think double button is hard, this is that times 10. This is the most precise thing I had to TAS in the entire run.
- Boggy race strats - The TAS uses slightly different race strats to collect as many notes as possible. This many is definitely not realistic for a human. What Stiv collects in his runs is typically the limit. You can squeeze out an extra note by Wozza if you have good movement but it is risky, as losing the race there loses you a full minute or so.
- Snowman jiggy damage cancel - Too hard to set this up with eggs and get it consistently.
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Rusty Bucket Bay
- ------Staying in talon trot on the ramps - definitely doable if you practice this.
- The entire first half of the route up to the first blue box is not feasible. Clipping out of the ramp isn't too bad, but the C up input at the propellers is frame perfect. Miss it and you die. Then you must do a midair jump back onto the boat and a 2-3 frame window for the ratatat rap in order to complete the route.
- Engine room strats - Lol don't try it.
- Captain's Quarters damage cancel - This is extremely precise and saves about 4 seconds. I would honestly be surprised if anyone got this on console even once.
- Pooping eggs to break the 2 windows from above - really dumb and dependent on RNG.
- Beak bombs in the honeycomb room - This is barely possible and it is even harder when trying to control flying movement.
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Click Clock Wood
- Moving during the spring switch cutscene - Almost impossible to do this and get the dragonfly to charge at the same time.
- Clipping out of bounds while blooming the flower in spring - Do I even have to explain this?
- Jumping up leaves in talon trot in Summer vertically - the collision for this is very weird and it's too easy to fall.
- Fall route - This requires that you clip out in the bramble at the end which is extremely difficult, and like Gobi Clip, you can die trying for it.
- Beak bust recoil for the snarebear notes - very easy to get hit doing this and just wastes time and 2 health.
- Clipping through the nest with Eyrie - This isn't necessary but saves time with this route, and requires a relatively precise spot.
- Winter route - this entire route revolves around setting up the clip quickly and reducing flight sections. The winter house beak bomb is ridiculously hard.
