  11. (Free Racial) Tough: passive; Earth ponies take 1 additional hit before becoming helpless as well as 1 extra wound once they become helpless, for a total of 6 hits and 6 wounds without other modifiers. They can also lift, carry and move heavier objects than unicorns and pegasi.
  12. (Racial) Earth Pony Way: Being born without a horn or wings has taught you how to spend more time and effort in the things you do. You can pick one skill and gain a +1 bonus. This does not include non-skill actions like melee attacks or recovering from helplessness. (Hot Irons)

  27. Gift Wrap is a female Earth Pony. Her fur is a creamy, almost eggnog color; has a poofy, vermilion and white striped mane and tail; and a shining set of peppermint green eyes. Gift Wrap the winter season. This is partially due to her birthday being on the day known as Hearth's Warming Eve. However, Gift Wrap never really saw this day as her birthday, as she prefered to celebrate the holiday over her day of birth. Ever since being exposed to it's tale when she was a filly, she was fascinated with the idea of gift exchanges. Thus, she made it her personal duty to make sure everyone she knew got gifts on her favorite holiday.
  28. This charitable hobby of Gift Wrap, however, was not without cost, and Gift surely did not come from a particularly wealthy family. Thus, she took up taking multiple part-time jobs at a local mall to make enough money to fund her present presenting. One particular job that she enjoyed immensely only came during the winter seasons, and shared the same name as herself: gift wrapping. It was at this job that two important events happened to Gift Wrap. The first, was her gaining her cutie mark. At this she was ecstatic, and only wished to work harder after learning gifts were her calling in life. The second important event was the discovery of her tail's unique ability.
  29. It was on one extra busy day at the mall, the day before Hearth's Warming Eve. Shoppers frantically darted from store to store, buying last minute gifts for their family. Gift Wrap felt fortunate that she had already been able to buy her gifts before hand, but she was still quite anxious. The cause of this anxiety was the 40+ line of ponies standing in front of her stall, impatiently waiting for their gifts to be wrapped by the one young mare. While extremely talented at her work, Gift could not wrap her her head around how she could possibly help all the ponies before the store closed in one hour. She persevered, working harder than she ever had before. Oddly enough, she began to notice wrapped gifts that she didn't remember wrapping. Turning around to see if a coworker had snuck into the booth unnoticed, Gift Wrap was shocked to see her tail half-way through tying a bow around one such gift. She was initially shocked and confused, but a disgruntled shopper prevented her from thinking much further on the situation for the time being. Getting back to work, she and her tail plowed through the job with even a 15 minutes left to spare at the end.
  30. After that day, Gift Wrap decided to figure out the full capabilities of her prehensile tail. Although unable to control it's seemingly sentient movement, she eventually learned to control it after a few weeks. Fast forward several years later, Gift Wrap has grown into a perky adult mare, now taken to adventuring. She has now mastered her tail's unique ability, even learning that it can channel magic. Her philanthropic attitude stuck with her into her adventuring days, and is friendly and generous towards those she travels with. However, she isn't afraid to defend herself if confronted with danger, her friendliness going only so far.
