I did my best to profit from the Interpreter's knowledge, and took extensive notes. As I read them now, I saw that I hadn't written about the ambitions, the desires, the jealousies and the rivalries that drove the people with these titles to advance.

The trouble was, while all ambition is alike, it's also as individual as the people that harbour it.
