  1. I doubt it. When people talk about assimilation and culture they usually mean has an accent, eats the food, and shares some vague and toothless value system.

  3. No real standards like relative economic parity, voting habits, civic participation, and lack of factionalism. That would be real assimilation.

  5. Of course, it is possible for nonwhites to achieve this but unlikely because different white ethnicities dont even achieve it. Compare English Americans to the Scots-Irish for instance. Wildly different outcomes and habits,

But among whites it is less of an issue, because these differences can be concealed to some degree, and different groups can more easily fill different niches without conflicting loyalties (but not always). The scots-Irish for instance are why the U.S. had a relatively easy time becoming a military power after all. And European nations have many regional identities held together with some common cultural glue, but even then... Catalonia, Scotland, and Ireland prove it isn't everything
