- so. this quarter is gonna be a wild fucking ride. one class in particular is ETC405 Lab, which is the lab session for Construction Planning and Scheduling. I took the lecture last quarter, and was unable to take the lab (but this was one of those rare examples where they weren't corequisites for some reason). Prof says "do fine in this class, you should be able to easily take the lab on its own next quarter, no problem".
- flash forward to this quarter, im taking that lab. new prof says he crafted his lesson plans and curriculum such that the lecture would easily flow into the lab, with assignments being assigned in lecture then being done in the lab, as well as lecture based quizzes being *taken* in lab
- so im only taking the lab. this poses a rather large issue. I _would_ easily just take the lecture, if i didn't have a glaring schedule conflict at the exact same session time. so i talk to the professor after class and i ask him "look, here's what i was told, i dont want to fuck up your entire plan but what should I do? i'm graduating at the end of spring, there's gotta be a way to make this work"
- much to my surprise
- he stops, thinks for a minute, then says "i really am sorry you were given some shit advice. but.... because of that, i really dont want you to get screwed because of it. ill see what i can do. ill help you out."
- so i come in tonight (im writing this during class by the way, ill get to that) and find out what "ill help you out" means. and its pretty damn fine. because i am unable to take lecture (and already took it anyways), hes not faulting me for the homework. additionally, i literally dont even need to take the weekly quizzes, because they're based on the lecture notes. on top of THAT, he said i can straight up do the previous week's lab work ***in class*** or just show up an hour and a half late for the second half of the lab session when we actually start doing work.
- this class is gonna be a breeze.
