  1. Maertock would spread his arcanium plated arms in cheer as he barked out in ambient cheer, the Captain of the Deep Company clearly in higher spirits than yesteryear. The funeral was obviously good for the man; he was ready to focus on what actually mattered.
  2.
  3. The pursuit of currency.
  4.
  5. "Greetings and salutations elder scientist my dead brother hit on, strangers, Miss Aertas. I am here simply because I am bored, and there is not much happening exactly at this moment. I was stabbing boars on the beach and thought..."
  6.
  7. The reaver would gesture through the air with his massive palms.
  8.
  9. "Let's bring my spice to Achyon."
  10. (Maertock Reave)
  11. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  12.
  13. With a slow and careful nod, Freda raised up her robotic arm and gave an 'ok' hand gesture with it. Tossing an eyebrow up along her facial expression at the mention of the oh so fabulous fishy brother.
  14.
  15. "I don't have any problem with your presence..."
  16.
  17. But a laugh soon left that stoic and confused look of hers, a small one. But still a sign of emotion.
  18.
  19. "Knew it! Either he was attempting some kind of psychological warfare through flirtish writings or for some reason. He was really into.."
  20.
  21. "This."
  22.
  23. And there stood the old-tired robot woman, puffing back on the cigar between her two fingers.
  24. (Freda Von Bohm)
  25. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26.
  27. Leaning on one of his servants, Nidaz would slowly turn back towards the benches. His eyes calmly traced the path to the figure that had caught the attention of the others..
  28.
  29. A siren, a very famous one to tell the truth.. The captain of the pirates! Interesting..
  30.
  31. Raising his left hand in the air, he would wave to Reave, "Welcome to Achyon my friend, I'm sure you will find what to do around here.. There are always things to do in this city.." His voice would sound very weak, probably due to the experiment he had just conducted.
  32.
  33. Creating life was never easy after all.
  34. (Nidaz)
  35. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  36. Nidaz asks, "..Who are you again?"
  37. Lenalla says, "I'm sure Captin' will provide plenty o entertainment for you lot, but fer now, Enki...ya promised trainin, and I wanna bet know that ya showin off coins."
  38. Enki exclaims, "Let's head just down south then!"
  39. ] And then he would turn to Lacus, arching his eyebrow as he looked at the man.. Was he a delirious drunk? Most likely.
  40.
  41. "I don't know what you're talking about pal, you must have confused me with another person." He would respond quickly, before falling silent again.
  42.
  43. There was always one of those out there, Nidaz should get used to it.. But it was complicated.
  44. (Nidaz)
  45. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  46. Maertock would bob his head steadily as he clicked his rows of serrated teeth together; the Captain of the Deep Company nothing if not the cheerful sort when it came down to it. Speaking of his brother and the memories they shared helped him progress past his malaise.
  47.
  48. "Yes, as much as Murtock was a sucker for psychological warfare, in that case he simply found mature women intoxicating. Depending on the one, of course. Perhaps he found your metal parts to remind him of a ship's rigging. I'd ask him were he here, but he'd probably not give the true answer."
  49.
  50. The captain would nod glumly at that, tapping at his serrated teeth as he mulled upon the matter with a sense of lightheartedness with a bit of cloudiness. The sadness was still there, but at the least it was lesser. Day by day, he moved on.
  51.
  52. "Everyone has their tastes. He was more of a womanizer than myself in truth. I'm oft too busy focusing on black magic and pursuingbusiness opportunities. It certainly doesn't help that my smile isn't famous for its beauty."
  53.
  54. The captain would flash his serrated rows of teeth in a wide grin, barking out in cheer at that. It was his look, and he owned it. The shadow shark.
  55.
  56.
  57. (Maertock Reave)
  58. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  59.
  60. Maertock Reave says, "I've also admittedly been looking for an enchanter."
  61. Freda Von Bohm says, "I can- Help with that."
  62. As expected, just an misunderstood. Great! Nothing much from there, Nidaz could return to his slow death after giving so much energy to his creation..
  63.
  64. Waving the man with his hand, he would respond in a calm tone, in fact it was more like a weak weak tone, "No problem, this tends to happen with great frequency, don't worry much about it.."
  65.
  66. Well turning his attention to something else.. What the pirate was talking to Freda Oh... Oh dear.
  67.
  68. "And I here thinking that my creations that are strange.." He would mutter, just the thought of someone flirting with Freda already gave him chills down his spine!
  69. (Nidaz)
  70. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  71.
  72. "We've only met once or twice. Perhaps he was enticed about my anger on Alpha destruction, maybe a woman who's been confirmed as dead once in her life and fitted with enough mock organs to make a synthetic unit laugh... Maybe he was just into crazy old ladies who sit in their laboratory producing a number of false-humans and warmachines.."
  73.
  74. Chewing on the butt of her cigar, Freda withdrew a decent enough hit from it before spitting off to the side. Leaving a nasty black gunk on the floor. Not that that she was worried about cleaning it up.
  75.
  76. "Much as I would of liked to 'get with the' scales in my younger years, I didn't have the heart to tell him that I'm a taken lady already, Fourty years and going."
  77.
  78. Almost disheartened, She took out a simple gold ring that was hanging around her neck and under the robes. Revealing it to the Reave.
  79.
  80. "It was funny seeing my husband get all flustered after I showed him that rather lusty letter your brother sent me."
  81. (Freda Von Bohm)
  82. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  83.
  84. Freda Von Bohm says, "Show me what needs touching up, I'll do it for free."
  85. Nidaz says, "..Weak, weak machine.."
  86. Maertock would slowly click his rows of serrated teeth together as he whistled in thought, contemplating for a time how so much had changed since his arrival to Esshar. A young reaver he was no longer, no...at twenty six? He was a grown man and pirate. He'd certainly lost enough to have been forced to age.
  87.
  88. "These are all a variety of possibilities. Murtock enjoyed passion, anger, and was mostly synthetic himself by the end of it all. At the end of the day, he favored the bold, so perhaps he considered you such."
  89.
  90. The captain would nod lightly as he took a solemn drag from his cigar, considering then if one day, smoking might actually kill him.
  91.
  92. Probably. Hopefully. No fear.
  93.
  94. "I'm sure he would have been appropriately haunted by your rejection. This is the way of things. I've found solitude has led to zero women attempting to kill me, which is so far a good ratio."
  95.
  96. At the mention of the enchantment, the Captain of the Deep Company would remove his fancy pirate hat with a flourish, offering a wink to the crowd of necromancers, technomancers, and Amelia's with a chuckle.
  97.
  98. "Why, I just need this cursed pirate hat I pulled off of an ancient skeleton made more powerful. My linen shirt as well, though I'm not picky. In truth, I also came here to seek Miss Aertas; I've some projects in mind her insight might very well aid."
  99. (Maertock Reave)
  100. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  101.
  102. {Item} You drop Saltspite's Hat.
  103. Bruno pyr Aertas says, "......"
  104. Bruno pyr Aertas says, "Sister."
  105. Bruno slides up closer to Amelia, despite his wounds from the battlefield he seemed all too focused upon but a single thing.
  106.
  107. "This is the man who leads those pirates, correct?"
  108. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  109. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  110.
  111. Maertock Reave says, "The one and only."
  112. Amelia Locke pyr Aertas asks, "Mh?"
  113. Bruno pyr Aertas says, "I see."
  114. Amelia Locke pyr Aertas says, "Oh, the captain, yes."
  115. {Item} You picked up Saltspite's Hat. Dropped by Maertock Reave..
  116. Bruno's motions took little to no time as his beloved Babushka was on the verge of commiting a mistake. Feet brought him closer to her as he spoke up. A tad louder than usual.
  117.
  118. "Aid this man and you will be found a traitor, Babushka. He is part of the group in which the one known as 'Cyril' hides; one full of traitors who aim to harm the Empire, according to their own words.
  119.
  120. It is no help we should provide them, but the death sentence."
  121.
  122. Perhaps the occultist was getting a bit emotional. Who would have thought this was possible?
  123. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  124. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  125.
  126. Maertock would sigh as he redoffed his hat, the Captain of the Deep Company taking a light drag of his cigar with a sigh as he clicked his rows of teeth together. He didn't appear dramatically bothered by Bruno's statement, but then, he understood how one could get when it came to lost brothers. He empathized.
  127.
  128. "Is that how your sister spun it? Here I thought she just immediately attacked Cyril and called him a traitor when he didn't want to leave with her. It was a strange affair, of that I cannot deny."
  129.
  130. The Captain would nod lightly at that, taking a drag from his cigar as he crossed his arms, rubbing a bit of sand out of his eyes with a hum.
  131.
  132. "Irrelevant, he only stayed long enough on the beach to lose her scent before departing. There's not a single other Achyonite in my crew."
  133.
  134. Maertock would shrug at that.
  135.
  136. "However considering the Docros welcomed me here, I fail to see how poor Freda here wouldbe considered a traitor for...helping me?"
  137. (Maertock Reave)
  138. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  139.
  140. Just as a curious hand reached out for the hat in question, Freda was halted as a voice riled up behind her. Familiar, but with more.. Pizass to it, or emotions.
  141.
  142. Yoinking her hand back, Freda tilted her head over a shoulder. Fulfilling her suspicion on the voice behind it.
  143.
  144. "I see. Well... I won't be stepping on any toes, But if you have business to attend to with Maertock here. Then I won't get in the way! Thank you for updating me on the situation at hand though.."
  145.
  146. Slooowly, She side stepped out of the firing line.
  147. (Freda Von Bohm)
  148. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  149. Maertock Reave says, "Ask your questions, you'll get your answers. I'm vibing."
  150. Enki arrived defeated, no one found in his little adventure throughout the land, his steps pausing beside Maertock as he offered a grin towards the Captain as he spoke.
  151.
  152. "Aaaand. I am back."
  153. (Enki)
  154. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  155.
  156. Maertock Reave says, "Hey kid."
  157. Maertock would ruffle the youth's hair affectionately.
  158. (Maertock Reave)
  159. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  160.
  161. Bruno took little to no time to draw his weapon forth. Final Answer found its maw all too ready to bite off Maertock's head and send his company sinking deep under. His lips parted, his own demeanor in complete contrast with the pirate's own.
  162.
  163. "Negative. The Docro's vast invitations extends to their manor. No order was given to allow you within our walls. The fact that you keep a traitor of ours as company and that I assume you won't deliver him to us makes you an obstacle.
  164.
  165. Surrender peacefully or you may find yourself more damaged than necessary behind bars."
  166. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  167. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  168.
  169. Enki exclaims, "Oh, bad timing!"
  170. Nidaz says, "..Heh."
  171. Lyndis says, "Nidaz."
  172.
  173. Maertock Reave says, "Oh hey Lyndis."
  174. Maertock Reave says, "Nice to see you again."
  175. Lyndis says, "I'd...like to know what is going on here."
  176. Maertock Reave says, "This young man is assaulting me for answering the Docro's invitation."
  177. Maertock Reave says, "I believe he may be a little bit...frazzled."
  178. Enki exclaims, "Old age does that!"
  179. Nidaz says, "Probably.."
  180. Nidaz says, "I will talk with Don later, no worries."
  181. Maertock Reave says, "Indeed. I can wait here contently enough. Assuming this is about following orders, and not just him disobeying them to assault me."
  182. Maertock Reave says, "That'd be bad."
  183. Maertock would simply shake his head at that, clicking his rows of serrated teeth together as he yawned before shaking his head. The Captain of the Deep Company was in high spirits, so he would simply shrug at that. Snapping his fingers, he'd take a seat contently upon a manifested seat of shadows, yawning lightly at the matter at hand with a smile.
  184.
  185. "No order was given to not allow me within these walls either. Quite the opposite, the Don's regards were offered and the same deal maintained that my brother shared with him. This is the way of things, misunderstandings happen."
  186.
  187. The Captain would remain in place, yawning lightly at that.
  188.
  189. "I'll remain here until Don Docro arrives then. As fun as it is to get arrested for answering an invitation because your....brother left Achyon? Left my crew too....probably left Esshar. These things happen."
  190.
  191. The Captain would shrug, reclining contently.
  192.
  193. "I do not resist, nor attempt to leave the city. I'd prefer this straightened out so I can go back to small talk and working on projects."
  194. (Maertock Reave)
  195. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  196.
  197. Silver hues look toward the Reave. Remembering their previous encounter with one another. She had entered Deep Company territory once before and they did not rob her or hurt her. Morals would indicate that she'd do the same to him, of course.
  198.
  199. But..she was a soldier who followed orders. If he was not allowed to be in the city, then she'd follow such order.
  200. "I'd recommend we wait for the Don before complying to any unnecessary action. My recommendation is to keep him in custody, not fully arrest him. If the Don is unavailable in the present moment, i'd recommend you leave the city until we are able to straighten things out, as they say. Invitation or not, we do...not take kindly to visitors often. Especially those that harbor traitors.."
  201.
  202. She'd neglect mentioning how ironic it was that they were giving him such a terrible welcoming party. Given her own trek to the Deep Company was rather...pleasant. But alas, such were her orders and her programming. It was just...the way things were.
  203.
  204. (Lyndis)
  205. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  206.
  207. He was tired, very tired.. What Nidaz wanted was just a quiet night, maybe being beaten up by a synth afterwards would make him pass out, thus sleep a bit.. But for now, he would have to see what was going on.
  208.
  209. Walking towards them, he would yawn and start speaking with a very tired voice, "Bruno.. By orders from Luca pyr Docro, the Pirates are currently considered neutral towards us and not enemies.. Friends. Do not do anything that will harm the Don's image..
  210.
  211. Just.. Leave him alone, he's not doing any harm, quite the contrary! He was providing entertainment for us." He would stop, exchanging glances between the two, "If he does something, I will take full responsibility for such acts, as a member of the Council.
  212.
  213. Understood? If you have a problem, you can also talk to Luca later, as soon as he wakes up.." Finally he would nod firmly, before remaining silent.
  214.
  215. Luca had business with the pirates, where Nidaz being part of the family, should not allow something bad to happen with them! It was his job..
  216. (Nidaz)
  217. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  218.
  219. ] "Negative. Under orders of Councilman pyr Docro, Councilwoman pyr Aertas, Captain Docro, and Captain Aertas the invitation extended by the Don span no further than the reaches of the manor. To enter Achyon without permission is in clear violation of neutrality. Our gates are not open to those who aid traitors." Bruno states, amassing enough name to fill a notepad worth of merit on their own.
  220.
  221. "You will be escorted to a cell and will await Councilman Docro in that location. Your weapons will be seized and restraints will be put upon your person until you no longer need to be detained.
  222.
  223. Should the individual known as 'Cyril' have betrayed your crew as well there should be no action taken."
  224.
  225. A glance is given towards Lyndis. A stare. One long enough to make anyone uncomfortable - as if her leniency was not welcome.
  226.
  227. Then back to Maertock.
  228.
  229. "Comply with such and you will be in the Don's hands rather than mine."
  230.
  231. Which was obviously a greater option.
  232. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  233. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  234.
  235. ] Entertainment never ceased to end it seemed as of late, as soon as he arrived beside Maertock, there was already someone coming around to arrest the priate.
  236.
  237. Amazing!
  238.
  239. Enki's upper-body dipped forward, to stare past the larger shark and instead peer over towards Bruno as he hummed, briefly examining the white locks atop his scalp.
  240.
  241. "Well this sucks. Does this mean I won't be able to come around achyon anymore, gaaah."
  242.
  243. Palms grabbed onto the side of his head as she shook, such a terrible ending for the recently inducted swabbie.
  244. (Enki)
  245. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  246.
  247. Lyndis simply tilts her head to the side in response to Bruno's stare. TO her, it felt...unnecessary to keep him in chains as a prisoner. But alas, she wasn't given any orders from a superior to capture him. Hence forth, she didn't seem it necessary..
  248. "Nidaz. You are part of the Council, right? That would make it so you have understanding on the various rules on who is and who is not allowed in Achyon? If so, i'd like to request what you think about the situation."
  249.
  250. "Personally, I feel as if Meartock should be escorted out of the city. Misunderstandings occur. And it is very well possible that the Don just did not inform Maertock that he is not allowed into the city."
  251.
  252. The Synthetic fiddles with her glove. Silver hues looking toward Maertock as she did so.
  253. "I'd rather not argue about this. Maertock. You are to leave the city immediately. We will speak with Luca about your neutrality at a later date."
  254.
  255. While she says this, she knew Bruno was rather...trigger happy. Locking the shark up was probably what he wanted to do more than anything. Or...maybe the Synthetic was just too lenient.
  256.
  257. He was deemed neutral. Not an enemy. She...wasn't so lenient when it came to her enemies...
  258. "Nidaz. Shall I commit the arrest with Bruno? Or would you rather him walk out of the city?"
  259.
  260. "You're choice."
  261. (Lyndis)
  262. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  263.
  264. Freda Von Bohm says, "Nidaz, This is on you. "
  265. Freda Von Bohm says, "I- Am not stepping on any toes. "
  266. Freda Von Bohm says, "Welcome to council hell."
  267. Maertock would tilt his head in mild confusion at the reaction, though he did not appear particularly phased by the implications the man offered. He'd respect the sheer bureaucratic leveling offered forth, a light click of his teeth all he needed to grant before he offered a smile and a bow.
  268.
  269. "Strange, it was Captain Docro who invited me here. The same with Don Docro. I'd also discussed plans to work on a project with your older sister there. That's, what, three councilors? If we count my mentor Trik, who taught me necroratsy; blessed art that it is."
  270.
  271. The captain of the Deep Company would nod steadily at that, yawning as he shrugged lightly with a sense of ambient cheer as he nodded.
  272.
  273. "That said, if the councilor here desires me to leave? I will follow his orders, and depart. I am at your leisure gentlemen, take your time to digress. I wonder where that old rat is...I miss the fellow."
  274. (Maertock Reave)
  275. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  276.
  277. Bruno pyr Aertas says, "Trik is no longer part of the council."
  278. Maertock Reave says, "A shame. He was a good rat. Though he always said he hatred politics."
  279. Maertock Reave says, "So it makes sense."
  280. Bruno pyr Aertas says, "Some of his ideas were of poor taste."
  281. Maertock Reave says, "Ohohohoh, I have a feeling I'd know."
  282. …
  283.
  284. So many people gathered in such a short amount of time, it frazzled Enki's mind as he looked around, before finally he started to back pedal slowly, pivoting on a heel to casually depart from the scene and head out.
  285.
  286. A faint windy whistle leaving his lips as hands slid into pockets.
  287.
  288. "Good luck with getting arrested Captain! I am going to... slowly leave now!"
  289. (Enki)
  290. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  291.
  292. Maertock Reave says, "Yes no fear Enki, live life to the fullest."
  293.
  294. He would look at Freda one last time, with a look as if 'asking for help'. He has recently joined the Council and was already having to deal with it, pain.. Well, it was his job so he would do it!
  295.
  296. "As I said, as far as I know, from what Luca said directly to me, the Pirates do have access to the city as long as they don't cause any problems.
  297.
  298. Where in case I'm wrong? I will handle it myself." He would say, waving his hand in the air, "Besides, I remember that Trik, before passing his position on to me, was dealing with the Sirens, about our relations.. And also that he had found a new student.. And well, here he is!" He would point at Murtock at the end, confirming what he was saying.
  299.
  300. In fact, before everything happened, Trik was trying to make peace with the pirates or something like that.. It was very difficult to understand the old Razuka.. Well, one thing was clear, he had started teaching Fleshcrafting to one ofthem..
  301.
  302. Giving a cough to clear his throat, he would soon go on, "So, my dear, dear, Bruno. This is an order, let him go.. I will be taking full responsibility for him. For since he was a student of Trik? Now he is my student.
  303.
  304. Besides, he has business with Don, so it's not something you should meddle with." Finishing up, he would nod, hoping that this would solve the problem.
  305. (Nidaz)
  306. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  307.
  308. Bruno may not have liked the current outcome but he was not one to disobey orders. The moment it was properly given his weapon was withdrawn with all of the vile darkness that was held within, and fastened behind his back.
  309.
  310. "Understood. Shall I inform the aforementioned council members and Captains that under your orders anyone who is not our enemy is welcome within our walls following the orders of two council members not to allow neutral parties within our walls, or will you do it yourself?"
  311.
  312. Bruno's question dripped with burried emotions. Stiffled by his desire not to show any sort of weakness following his brother's betrayal. He turned to Nidaz, if only to await his answer. He had etiquette, after all, and allowing the fleshcrafter to know that he was going against the terms set by two of his equals would certainly be interesting.
  313. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  314. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  315.
  316. Nidaz says, "I admire your work and professionalism, Bruno, but I will do it! And Freda will come with me when the time comes. So you can go rest now, we have things to do soon.. You will need all of your strenght."
  317. Bruno pyr Aertas says, "Understood."
  318. Nidaz says, "If you need any medical attetion or any other soldier, let me know."
  319. Nidaz says, "Also, take some of my.. Undeads, with you next time, to help."
  320. Bruno pyr Aertas says, "I am stable. I remain undefeated upon Starfall."
  321. Nidaz exclaims, "I was not so lucky.. So far. But I'm sure that Mistakes will do better than me!"
  322. Nidaz says, "You will see him in action.. Soon."
  323. Lyndis smiles. But...only for a moment.
  324. (Lyndis)
  325. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  326.
  327. Bruno pyr Aertas says, "I hardly look towards your abominations, with all due respect."
  328. Maertock would cross his arms formally behind his back as he smiled at the sensation of the pistol against his head. It made him nostalgic, honestly. The pirate hadn't had a gun to his back since before he'd mastered shadow magic. Those days, a bit of grapeshot to the back was a brother's friendly greeting.
  329.
  330. How he missed Murtock and Caddock. The latter had fled to the ocean in sorrow upon hearing of the former's death, leaving the reaver lord of the south coast all on his lonesome.

  332. Well, beyond alcohol. He always had that.
  333.
  334. However, upon hearing the Councillor speak up, the Captain would offer a respectful bow to his deference, taking a considerate drag from his cigar as minty smoke ambiently rose from his dry, reddened gills.
  335.
  336. "Ah, Trik's star student. I was wondering why you were so handsome; a manly vigor with certainty permeates from your being. A robust necroratser's soul."
  337.
  338. The captain would nod slowly.
  339.
  340. "My medical studies are complete, I see I've found a proper tutor for my practical studies with cadavers. Truly, a blessed visit to the city, everything was for a purpose! Friends we are."
  341.
  342. The Captain would smile, clicking his serrated teeth together once more.
  343.
  344. "I respect you Bruno. Takes stones to hold your ground."
  345.
  346. The Captain's eyes would at last flick to Lyndis and Zash as he hummed, a shadowy tentacle lowering down to clasp the pungent tuna as he marveled at it, before in a moment it disappeared in his cloak of inky darkness.
  347.
  348. "A thoughtful gift, Murtock would have eaten it here and now to make a point. While I lack the appetite, it is thoughtful."

  353. {LONG DISTANCE TO: Amelia Locke pyr Aertas}: Dear Councillor Aertas,
  354.
  355. I don't think your brother likes me very much. A shame, I found him rather amusing. Took up a bit too much time sadly, but I've an interesting project involving all manners of black magic and cursed materials coming together. Your expertise and company would be my pleasure on this venture.
  356.
  357. But, that can wait til next time. Do stay healthy, I'll try to avoid getting shot before our next chat.
  358.
  359. Fondly,
  360. Captain Reave
  361.
