- Honestly, I'm kind of leaning about 60:40 on this match. I think both contestants are doing roughly the same thing in basically the same way, but are just going about arguing it slightly differently.
- To leverage some criticism at Ame, I noticed many, many weak arguments for the Batmech and Tim throughout this round. "Terry can take super lightning magic, source: he gets incapacitated by sci-fi doohickeys" and "The Batmech shreds with batarangs, source: a scan where like 50 of them fail to kill a mummy" are not stunning arguments when paired with their scans. I, similarly, found the pairing of "Tim will fight while invisible based on this one scan where he's sort of invisible for 2 pages" with "Prove your team will like, use useful magic in contextually appropriate scenarios" to be kind of obviously hypocritical, and FoD did a good job pointing this out.
- > Side-note: As a point of advice for FoD, if I were writing your "Other Stuff" section myself, I think it would also do good to point out that Tim is literally visible in every single scan Ame provides wherein Tim is in combat, rather than framing it as "There's just one scan given where he is invisible". This points out not just that there's scant evidence for the claim, but also that there's strong counter-evidence (I.E., that Tim seemingly never uses invisibility in combat).
- Ultimately, I ****think Ame wins**** for the sole reason that FoD is largely too conciliatory. In particular, quote "my entire argument is 'donβt get hit', this is my entire argument" is not a good thing to say in a debate, lol. This makes it seem as though you agree that Tim and the Mech have many methods of tapping out your team, and are largely dependent on evasion to win. This is still a winnable argument, sure, but this would need to be paired with some form of quantification or explanation as to why your team's evasive ability is obviously good enough to pull off their wincon, which I just don't think is very present outside of bringing up that movement options are there at all.
- To be more specific - and this is directed at FoD - I think your team was "stronger and faster" than Ame's, and based on the scans presented I think they would be likely to have "esoteric" options that TimMech aren't good at handling (off the top of my head, I think "being stuck in a tornado fighting an opponent who controls the ground" is something that on its own could negate a like 5:1 advantage).
- Furthermore, there was no reason to rest the argument of a speed advantage solely on teleportation/air stepping magic. Ame's argument for "being fast" was, in order: 1) "it kept up with a slow jet" and 2) "check out this page with a big red streak on it". I'm not going to say that Teacher has some obviously quantifiable speed feats that were overlooked or anything, but like, again off the top of my head:

- I literally don't see a difference between the second scan in the first album (posted for Tim's speed) and the fourth scan in the second album (posted to evidence Teacher's teleportation, though they appear to just be flipping around in there). Both are "guys moving really far and fast while fighting a bigger opponent in combat", and I think (barring extra quantification to either) it would've been easy to argue "Teacher has peer speed, and then movement magic on top of that makes them effectively higher" rather than just "Movement magic alone carries".
- Again, Ame wins this round, but I think it could've easily tipped by either paying more attention to a broad win condition or by just antifeat posting (which I don't think requires more than just opening the scans on some of these). A lot of the scans for Teacher seemed just as good, if not better, than those posted for TimMech (barring maybe in durability), and I think many of the counter-arguments here were essentially self-defeating if more attention was called to the scans themselves. I don't expect you to read a zillion Batman comics or anything, but I do think you can point out "Many of the scans shown for the Mech's capabilities show those capabilities failing or not being used at all". Similarly, I feel like "the internal damage punching spell" probably could've been brought up more in the context of killing a VIP who is a normal guy protected by a suit (specifically, the durability of the suit is irrelevant, Oscillation should one-shot Gordon through it).
