TIFU by almost tearing a hole in my septum

I [23F] think it was about December I had a blocked nose so I used a nasal spray as per usual. But it didn't go away so I just kept buying nasal sprays and it got to the point where I couldn't sleep and would wake up not being able to breathe unless I used the spray and it just became habit

Fast forward to today where I had been using nasal sprays for about 5 months for a blocked nose and finally decided to go to the doctor. Doctor said I had inflamed my nasal and throat glands and if i kept using the sprays for another couple of weeks, would have torn a hole in my septum.

I now can barely breathe out my nose but am not allowed to use the sprays to help and have to take steroids and antihistamines for the next week or so to combat the damage I did. I cannot believe i was so stupid

Tl;dr TIFU by using nasal sprays for 5 months causing me to almost tear a whole in my septum
