i remember that, a long time ago, there was a secret feature hidden within my system.
if you launched winhelp and clicked on your desktop, you were sent into a support chatroom.
only a few of us ever found it.
we soonly became friends.
eventually, some of us were running a vm just to keep accessing the room.
time passed by, and as the internet aged, so did we.
none of us knew who ran the server, why it still existed or where was it hosted in. maybe we were some sysadmin's soap opera after all.
maybe it'll vanish someday, but for now, it's our little hiding place, a whole friendship, buried in the deep web.
but even if it lasts forever, we won't.
eventually, we'll all die.
when we're gone, who will remember us? who will remember the fun we had?
who will remember this happy little world and the friendships we made inside?
no one.
this place is irrelevant, ephimeral even.
one day it'll be forgotten, and so will we.
but at least we're all still here, together until the end.
