- I can't run Darivol anymore.
- I've been trying my best to enjoy it, and figured over time it would get better.
- I've lied to myself, and to you guys, saying I've been enjoying the sessions.
- I don't think I even enjoyed the first session. There's been some good *moments*, sure, like the war beginning, or feeding Takrak, but they're just that: moments.
- I haven't been able to force myself to prep before sessions for a month or so, instead prepping during the sessions, and I've been doing my best to throw in random bosses to stretch out the sessions to make shit feel like there's still some semblance of a session ready-even though there's not.
- I can't do it anymore.
- I can't do this to you guys.
- I know that some of you like Darivol, but I honestly hate running this campaign.
- The setting isn't fun to me, the party doesn't seem to mesh well at all (we NEED to do a session 0 next campaign) with a few exceptions, the plot is completely misguided and boring, and I'm just out of it.
- If any of you are ever interested in the setting, I'll give you all my notes, and GM permissions on Darivol, but I cannot run the campaign.
- I'm going to be taking a break from DMing for 3 or 4 weeks, and spend that time prepping Al'Naar, so we actually have an enjoyable campaign to play.
- I'm sorry to those of you who really liked Darivol, but I'll be trying my best this time.
- No more half-assing up sessions and hoping it somehow fixes itself.
- No more lying to myself that everything is fine.
- And, I'm sorry, but you won't be able to change my mind.
- I tried fixes for several sessions, and it never changed how much I enjoy it.
- For the weeks I'm not DMing, someone can either host a shortpaign or some oneshots if they want. I might be a player in them, but I won't be spending too much time on a backstory or something, so I can spend time on Al'Naar.
- Thank you for understanding.
- You're free to ask me more about this if you want; we're all friends, after all, and I value each and every one of your opinions.
