- The archetypical renegade Texas Ranger wages war against a drug kingpin with automatic weapons, his wits and martial arts after a gun battle leaves his partner dead. All of this inevitably culminates a martial arts showdown between the drug lord and the ranger, and involving the woman they both love.
- J.J. McQuade is a Texas Ranger who doesn't exactly follow the rules, is unruly, and prefers to work alone, which earns the nickname, Lone Wolf McQuade. When he discovers some criminals have automatic weapons, he discovers that they were stolen from the military. He tries to handle on his own, as usual, but in the end, an old friend, and a prisoner, whom he was keeping under wraps, are killed. He is then relieved of duty. But then an FBI agent, who also wants to get these guys, offers to help McQuade, and along with a rookie, they track down the mastermind.
- This was, as a whole, a surprisingly good action movie starring one of my favorite martial arts/action stars. The plot was a little... far-fetched; I mean, stealing military supplies, and from convoys, no less, almost makes for a thrilling plot device. For one who happens to be in the military, though, I just had to say "Oh, come on!" Anyway, getting past that, this flick has every single thing a guy needs in an action film, and actually does a pretty fine job of it. Considering that this film has David Carradine as the villain and Chuck driving around in a Dodge Ramcharger with a Supercharger, you can't go wrong. Typical kick butt, shoot 'em up Chuck film with some solid action. This movie's biggest hook, of course, is Chuck Norris vs. David Carradine (Kung Fu), which to me is one of the better straight-up fight scenes in recent movie history. Nothing terribly fancy, but the two sell some wicked-looking kicks and punches.<br/><br/>Norris is at his best in this film, but the supporting cast is just as wonderful. L.Q. Jones (Dakota), is priceless as the old Ranger, and the film is at it's best in the scenes that he is in. Barbara Carrera (Lola Richardson), is fantastic as a hot vixen in over her head. David Carradine (Rawley Wilkes), is an argyle sweater wearing crime lord who kicks butt, somehow it works? The music for this picture is perfect, the open piece is so good it sets the mood for the whole movie.<br/><br/>Overall rating: 7 out of 10.
- Chuck Norris plays one of his most classic rolls. A bad boy Texas Ranger that doesn't take crap from anyone, especially the captain. He has some magical Dodge Ramcharger that's supercharged and OH WOW it can haul some ass. I couldn't help but stop the movie over and over again to watch these terrible action scenes. Oh and not to offend anyone out there but I thought it was hilarious that one of the bad guys was a midget in an electric wheel chair. If you're looking for a good movie to watch, it's not this one. If you're looking for a movie to drink to... this is your best bet. Just drink anytime is does a solo shot of Chuck without him saying anything. Oh, and anytime someone looks through binoculars. I also like to drink during all slow motion sequences.
- This is an action movie. It makes no apology for that. But it's high-style action.
