  4. [OUTPUT: Is this your last saved game: http://pastebin.com/tfs27ekd]
  5. >Y
  6. [OUTPUT: Loading game....]
  7. [OUTPUT: Loading...]
  8. [OUTPUT: Game loaded successfully. Please enter command.]
  9. Hmm
  10. >Continue leaving ship
  11. >Towards where you were before
  12. [OUTPUT: You leave the ship. In fact, you make it all the way back to the ravine unchallenged.]
  13. [OUTPUT: Please enter command.]
  14. >Go to the door you went to
  15. Contemplate attaching something to gem that makes it more easily retrievable
  16. [OUTPUT: You head back through the door. You can still see the blood-ash stains on the ground.]
  17. [OUTPUT: Similarly, whose gem, and why?]
  18. [OUTPUT: Regardless, shall you head onwards?]
  19. >Yes
  20. [OUTPUT: The two of you march into the unsightly abyssal hall.]
  21. [OUTPUT: Passing several large parted roots in the wall, you meet an intersection. There are only two forks this time. Right and left.]
  22. >Peer down the left path.
  23. >Examine
  24. [OUTPUT: At the end of the left path, you can quite clearly see dancing blue flames upon the walls.]
  25. [OUTPUT: Down the right, merely deep purple lights.]
  26. [OUTPUT: Of the circular variety.]
  27. >Right
  28. >Right
  29. [OUTPUT: You head right.]
  30. Oh
  31. God
  32. Why
  33. [OUTPUT: Entering the room, you look around.]
  34. [OUTPUT: It appears to be a long hall of stone bricks, all ascending along a linear stair-path.]
  35. [OUTPUT: The lights, predictably, were those of what appear to be the plasma rifles of some goblins.]
  36. [OUTPUT: "Nice... nice work."]
  37. [OUTPUT: Cyan doesn't seem to be able to fully muster sarcasm in this affair.]
  38. >Attempt to hide both you and Cyan
  39. >Mmmmaaybe they didn't notice you yet? Go back, quickly!
  40. [OUTPUT: You dodge behind the bend once more, pulling Cyan by the hand.]
  41. [OUTPUT: Congratulations. Check failed.]
  42. [OUTPUT: The goblins notice you, but they cannot directly fire at you.]
  43. Hell.
  44. [OUTPUT: They will have to walk past the bend to get a direct shot.]
  45. [OUTPUT: That should take some time.]
  46. [OUTPUT: Please enter command.]
  47. >splash water on ground
  48. [OUTPUT: You splash some regular water on the ground.]
  49. [OUTPUT: You suppose you might be able to use this as a trap?]
  50. [OUTPUT: If that's what you had in mind.]
  51. [OUTPUT: The left path is still open to entry.]
  52. wait what're we gonna do with the water AC?
  53. Bug Zapper
  54. Ah. That was my first guess.
  55. [OUTPUT: You know, water only conducts electricity well when there is an ionic compound dissolved in it.]
  56. [OUTPUT: Among other things.]
  57. [OUTPUT: Regardless, shall you proceed, or flee?]
  58. >Do we have any salt?
  59. [OUTPUT: Ylahrthuian Salt, but that isn't the same thing.]
  60. [OUTPUT: In any manner whatsoever.]
  61. well this is a fine pickle
  62. [OUTPUT: There's never any shame in bailing.]
  63. Guess this falls on me then.
  64. We are a hydrokinetic
  65. What, are we going to water-punch them from below when they walk through that nice puddle there?
  66. Bail it is.
  67. >It's the bail, it never fails.
  68. [OUTPUT: You flee down the left pathway.]
  69. I suppose we could drown them
  70. [OUTPUT: The first goblin slips on the water, and falls, blocking the others from noticing you leaving.]
  71. [OUTPUT: You head down the left path, toward the blue flames.]
  72. [OUTPUT: After a minor descent, you pop out in what appear to be high-ceilinged underground chambers with makeshift wooden stairs heading in a variety of directions.]
  73. [OUTPUT: The room is vast, and you cannot quite make out what the sources of the flames are.]
  74. [OUTPUT: Please enter command.]
  75. >directions of stairs?
  76. >Take a random stair
  77. [OUTPUT: Log staircase number one goes left. Log staircase number two heads right. There are several other log staircases on the other side of the wall.]
  78. >Right
  79. [OUTPUT: You think you might be able to make out what the flames are coming from if you strained your eyes...]
  80. >look closer
  81. [OUTPUT: You peer across the chasm.]
  82. [OUTPUT: Cyan does the same, and the sudden grip on your wrist informs you that this might be quite bad. If you couldn't see it already, of course.]
  83. >What?
  84. Fucking eldritch tricks
  85. [OUTPUT: It appears to be a ritual procession of goblins, all carrying blue-flamed torches, with plasma rifles on their backs. They all seem to be holding up ends of small wooden platforms carrying what appear to be ash-coated wolfish... creatures.]
  86. [OUTPUT: They are all speaking a phrase repeatedly, in unison.]
  87. [OUTPUT: Please enter command.]
  88. >What's the phrase?
  89. [OUTPUT: "Shrouded by night, but with steady stride. Colored by blood, but always clear of mind."]
  90. We are gonna need more gun
  91. >Count goblins
  92. [OUTPUT: They don't appear to notice you.]
  93. [OUTPUT: 48 and counting.]
  94. ...remember how many were on the left path.
  95. More DAKKA
  96. [OUTPUT: The beasts on the platforms have all been clearly slain at the hands of the goblins.]
  97. [OUTPUT: There were about fourteen back there.]
  98. >Go back there
  99. [OUTPUT: You turn around, only to see the goblins heading down the right path. You're trapped.]
  100. So are the left goblins here now
  101. [OUTPUT: They are about to be here.]
  102. [OUTPUT: They are not quite here yet.]
  103. wat
  104. Oh right
  105. [OUTPUT: The left goblins do not appear to be hostile, though.]
  106. >Right Goblins: Notice the 48 extreme-leftist goblins across the chasm and start shouting obscenities at them (joke command)
  107. Hmm.
  108. We should fight the right goblins.
  109. Anyway the right goblins probably are hostile, while the left goblins are more concerned with their rituals.
  110. [OUTPUT: It should also be noted that bloodstains are prevalent on the clothing of the left goblins.]
  111. [OUTPUT: Of course, you can fight, or once more flee downward, if you so wish.]
  112. It may be best to handle the Right Goblins here while there are no other threats immediately present.
  113. >Fight the right
  114. >Fight Right Goblins
  115. [OUTPUT: You engage in combat.]
  116. [OUTPUT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE]
  117. >Observe
  118. [OUTPUT: Forest Knight: 15/15 HP x14. NOTES: An emaciated husk of a goblin holding up a long-range plasma rifle in one hand.]
  119. >scream "WAAAAAGH! after your first attack
  120. [OUTPUT: Are you sure you want to do that? That might alert the left goblins to your presence.]
  121. >Don't
  122. [OUTPUT: You don't do that. It is still your turn.]
  123. >Azure: Splash mercury water mix across as many of the goblins as possible
  124. >Cyan: Form a plasma shield between the goblins and both of you
  125. >Cyan: Prepare a shield to ward off the future onslaught of plasma rounds.
  126. [OUTPUT: You strike five of the goblins with mercurial water, poisoning them horribly.]
  127. [OUTPUT: Cyan forms the shield.]
  128. [OUTPUT: ENEMY TURN.]
  129. [OUTPUT: Fourteen full plasma rounds strike the shield. The force alone actually forces the two of you back to the edge.]
  130. [OUTPUT: YOUR TURN.]
  131. [OUTPUT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE]
  132. Damn...
  133. >BOTH: Circle strafe around the goblins slowly to a more advantageous position? (Would this consume our turn)
  134. [OUTPUT: What sort of command would that be?]
  135. Fair question, actually. Hrm.
  136. [OUTPUT: Fair note: utilize is still a thing that exists.]
  137. Right
  138. [OUTPUT: And checking your inventory is a free action.]
  139. >Azure: check inventory
  140. Actually, both
  141. [OUTPUT: AZURE INV: Medkit x3, Water Vial, Mercurial Water Vial, Undulating Water Vial, Welding Equipment, Cthk'aryvt's Blessing/Curse x4, Gem Fragment x3, Ylahrthuian Salt x3, Amalgam Interface, Flipside Elixir, Gluon Destabilizer x2, Potion of the Nine, Bottle of Water x2, Draught of Tears, Plasma Rifle.]
  142. [OUTPUT: CYAN INV: δ-ψ-φ-Bioschema, Deactivated Vitae Canister, Medkit x3, Gluon Destabilizer x2, Laser Pointer.]
  143. >Azure: Gluon Destabilizer. Aim at the non-poisioned goblins, if at all possible.
  144. >Cyan: Renew plasma shield
  145. [OUTPUT: Very well.]
  146. [OUTPUT: Cyan renews the shield just after you toss a primed Gluon Destabilizer at the unpoisoned goblins.]
  147. [OUTPUT: You don't wonder if you're far away enough from the blast to be safe until the thing goes off.]
  148. [OUTPUT: Check: succeeded.]
  149. [OUTPUT: The force of the explosion MERELY forces the two of you off the edge, given the shield. You have a moment to react.]
  150. The edge of what
  151. [OUTPUT: Your half of the chasm.]
  152. [OUTPUT: As opposed to the ritual goblins' half.]
  153. Is the chasm bottomless
  154. [OUTPUT: Bottomless things don't exist. Still, you can see no real end.]
  155. >Azure: Use water to slow and cushion fall
  156. [OUTPUT: What will it be.]
  157. We need a depth gauge
  158. hm, maybe cyan could point her shield downward as well
  159. Wouldn't that evaporate the water
  160. What if we can't get back up
  161. [OUTPUT: It is still an entirely feasible course of action to carry yourselves back up, you know.]
  162. [OUTPUT: Like, you've only just fallen.]
  163. Oh
  164. Do it
  165. [OUTPUT: How?]
  166. >Make a platform of condensed water
  167. naturally, water tends to collect at the bottom of chasms since it is a point of low ground. thus, we can use the water at the bottom of the chasm to make a platform.
  168. >So yeah, water platform.
  169. I mean, we have water.
  170. Also that :V
  171. [OUTPUT: You land on a platform of superdense water. In lieu of just falling down, you use the platform to pull you back up, away from the doorway.]
  172. I was practicing my asinine logic skills.
  173. [OUTPUT: ENEMY TURN.]
  174. Doorway?
  175. [OUTPUT: The right goblins step out onto the platform, looking your way.]
  176. [OUTPUT: The intersection of the left path and this chasm, yes.]
  177. Drop them?
  178. [OUTPUT: It is not your turn.]
  179. [OUTPUT: Several goblins across the chasm carefully place their oaken platforms on the ground, breaking their chant.]
  180. [OUTPUT: "Behold, southward!"]
  181. Terrible
  182. [OUTPUT: The chanting ceases.]
  183. [OUTPUT: The leftist goblins pull out a number of rifles, and...]
  184. [OUTPUT: They absolutely annihilate the right goblins with bursts of deadly flesh-melting plasma.]
  185. Reee tankies.
  186. I knew it.
  187. [OUTPUT: They all proceed to shoulder their weapons, pull up their platforms, and continue the procession.]
  188. Well then.
  189. Yay
  190. [OUTPUT: The chant returns.]
  191. >Loot right goblins
  192. Bigotry
  193. [OUTPUT: You get another fourteen plasma rifles! Hooray.]
  194. [OUTPUT: Just what you wanted.]
  195. Bigotry saves the day
  196. >Go right
  197. [OUTPUT: What, the right path, or the right staircase?]
  198. Right path
  199. [OUTPUT: You return to the room on the right. The room terminates on a raised stone area with a pedestal bearing a hand symbol in the center. ]
  200. [OUTPUT: There are no further doorways from there.]
  201. >Hand the hand
  202. [OUTPUT: You place your hand to the hand. Immediately, a vial tinted rose is revealed by a sliding panel in the side of the pedestal.]
  203. A...vial...tinted rose?
  204. [OUTPUT: Yes.]
  205. [OUTPUT: Shall ye take it?]
  206. It is clear to me now. Consumption of this concoction will result in you seeing things as if they were better than they really are.
  207. [OUTPUT: Or examine it, perchance.]
  208. >Examine
  209. [OUTPUT: I was referring to a color.]
  210. >Examine
  211. [OUTPUT: Draught of Tears: A corked vial of rose quartz, filled with some sort of unknown substance. You haven't any idea what this thing does. That which is dead can eternal lie, o'er altar grave and incensed sky.]
  212. Heals gems
  213. ...we already got one.
  214. [OUTPUT: Indeed you did.]
  215. [OUTPUT: Here is another.]
  216. good stuff
  217. [OUTPUT: Shall you take it?]
  218. Too obvious
  219. >Ye
  220. [OUTPUT: +1 Draught of Tears.]
  221. [OUTPUT: Oh, but you weren't here for the improper ritual parameter command when they tried to use it, champion.]
  222. What
  223. [OUTPUT: What indeed.]
  224. We need three, to be brief.
  225. [OUTPUT: Where now?]
  226. >To the left
  227. [OUTPUT: You head back to the left chasm.]
  228. [OUTPUT: ...]
  229. [OUTPUT: The procession is still producing yet more goblins.]
  230. ...it's producing goblins?
  231. [OUTPUT: It is figurative language.]
  232. Ah.
  233. >Right staircase
  234. [OUTPUT: You traverse the right staircase.]
  235. Goblins are born in hallways
  236. [OUTPUT: The two of you proceed for what is at least three minutes until you reach the bottom.]
  237. So
  238. [OUTPUT: The end of the depths is rather horrific, you think.]
  239. [OUTPUT: Oaken crosses on the earthy ground bear burnt beasts akin to those on the platforms, nailed to the things.]
  240. Should we get Strangelove to examine the Draughts?
  241. [OUTPUT: Should you?]
  242. You should read the log.
  243. [OUTPUT: Or, more accurately, have you already.]
  244. >Ignore them, look around
  245. [OUTPUT: Both you and Cyan shudder, then look about some more.]
  246. [OUTPUT: There appear to be hazel-wrought doors in the earth, all sealed. There are no windows, though there are certainly incense-filled lanterns lining the narrow walls.]
  247. Hmm.
  248. >Wonder if exploring here will annoy the goblins above
  249. [OUTPUT: They appear to ignore you in every instance, so probably not?]
  250. >Open hazel door
  251. [OUTPUT: You pull open a hazel door to reveal standard living quarters.]
  252. [OUTPUT: All seems to have been thrown about hastily inside, as if an evacuation was made not long ago.]
  253. >Indulge kleptomania anyways
  254. [OUTPUT: Nothing of value appears to be within, save for some water mixed with ash in a bottle.]
  255. >Leave room
  256. >Count hazel doors
  257. [OUTPUT: You exit the room, counting exactly twenty-four hazel doors in this particular stretch, though the place seems to open up to a larger area further down.]
  258. Thannks
  259. >Go through all of them, looting everything of note, unless any aren't living quarters
  260. [OUTPUT: They all appear to be houses. There's absolutely nothing different about them from the first in any manner, save for just how much of a disarray the rooms are.]
  261. Also Strangelove is my favorite asshole
  262. Did we take the ash water?
  263. [OUTPUT: You did not.]
  264. Also, any loot?
  265. >Take ash water
  266. [OUTPUT: +1 Ashwater Serum. Would you like to examine?]
  267. >Examine
  268. damn, I dıed
  269. [OUTPUT: Ashwater Serum: Shrouded by night, but with steady stride. Colored by blood, but always clear of mind. The first medical line of defense against the Ashen Plague beneath the trees. One cannot tell whether it was the source or the treatment, quite frankly.]
  270. Oooh
  271. [OUTPUT: The only other thing of note to loot is a large jar of incense in house fifteen.]
  272. >Take
  273. [OUTPUT: +1 Incense Jar.]
  274. Could Strangelove create an antidote?
  275. [OUTPUT: You don't know.]
  276. >Examine jar
  277. [OUTPUT: He is rather... preoccupied at the moment, though.]
  278. [OUTPUT: Incense Jar: Glass jar of herbal incense from the old days. Said to ward off the beasts of the Plague.]
  279. [OUTPUT: Please enter command.]
  280. Huh...
  281. >Go to larger area
  282. [OUTPUT: You head to the larger area.]
  283. [OUTPUT: You both emerge out on what appears to be a stone balcony overlooking a massive carven chamber, lit up near the bottom by magma ducts and incense lanterns. There is an elevator on the balcony platform itself.]
  284. [OUTPUT: There are a great deal of shapes moving down in the room below.]
  285. >Does the elevator go up or down
  286. [OUTPUT: Down.]
  287. >Examine shapes
  288. [OUTPUT: They are the goblins from the procession, it seems. The same chant rings up at least a hundred feet into your ears.]
  289. >Go down
  290. [OUTPUT: They all appear to be taking the oaken platforms down to a large bonfire, where they are tossing the beast corpses within the flames, and parting from the group, into side-chambers.]
  291. >Wait until they clear out
  292. [OUTPUT: The flow is unending. The night of the hunt is long and unchanging, after all.]
  293. Well then.
  294. >Consider waiting until day.
  295. [OUTPUT: You look at your phone, Cyan craning over your shoulder to examine it. The time is about nine forty PM.]
  296. >Alright, go down
  297. [OUTPUT: You descend.]
  298. [OUTPUT: Reaching the floor of the area, the goblins all seem to ignore you, focused on their task instead. You have free reign, it seems.]
  299. >Look about
  300. [OUTPUT: There are a few alleyways leading to more houses, as well as two staircases heading further downward.]
  301. [OUTPUT: One on the left side of the room, the other on the right.]
  302. >Right
  303. >Are goblins in the houses?
  304. [OUTPUT: You pass through the ground, holding Cyan's hand to keep you from separating in the mass crowd.]
  305. [OUTPUT: Likely so.]
  306. [OUTPUT: There is more chatter here.]
  307. [OUTPUT: Heading down the right stairs, you note that the place is rather silent.]
  308. [OUTPUT: Too silent, perhaps?]
  309. >Be ready for a fight
  310. [OUTPUT: Regardless, the chamber leads onwards, magmatic slits in the walls providing light. There is a door at the end of the hall.]
  311. >Open
  312. [OUTPUT: You open the door, revealing a cubic room with exactly two other doors in it, side by side. One has naught but a single pentagonal carving in the center, the other possesses a hand with three navy hashes.]
  313. >Open hand door
  314. [OUTPUT: You unseal the hand door, cautiously peering within. Cyan's grip on your hand grows a bit tighter.]
  315. [OUTPUT: There is a pedestal on the other end of the room behind the door. A silver chandelier hangs from the ceiling, unlit.]
  316. >Examine pedestal
  317. [OUTPUT: The two of you quietly rush down the room to reach the pedestal.]
  318. [OUTPUT: It is covered in Rodarbi inscriptions, most unreadable.]
  319. >Read those that aren't
  320. [OUTPUT: One in particular is the most interesting. "Seek the altar grave at the summit of the Manufactory. There you will find your escape." The only other one you can find is "Splintering gems best not succumb to the Plague."]
  321. ... How specific
  322. >Try the other room
  323. [OUTPUT: Probably, given the pictograms of monoliths and large carven citadels on the walls.]
  324. [OUTPUT: You move to head back, but the chandelier rattles against the walls, of its own accord.]
  325. >Prepare to fight?
  326. [OUTPUT: You ready your weaponry.]
  327. [OUTPUT: An inscription is just above the door, actually. "Ye will smell them as an odor before they descend. Beware the blades of the afflicted."]
  328. >Do you smell anything?
  329. [OUTPUT: Something vile, indeed. Rotted flesh, and ash.]
  330. [OUTPUT: Pungent indeed are the fumes.]
  331. >Make shields pointed upwards
  332. [OUTPUT: You defend yourselves just in time, as a hideous wolflike creature leaps from the chandelier, landing before you.]
  333. [OUTPUT: It snarls madly.]
  334. >Fight
  335. [OUTPUT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE]
  336. >Observe
  337. >Observe
  338. [OUTPUT: Ashen Horror: 15/15 HP. NOTES: Beasts, succumbed to the ashen plague of Aft'mathai. It sickens you to think these were once living beings with conscious goblin thoughts.]
  339. >Does it have blades?
  340. [OUTPUT: Claws, certainly.]
  341. [OUTPUT: Razor-sharp teeth, yes.]
  342. [OUTPUT: Blades? Not really.]
  343. [OUTPUT: Perchance it was a metaphor, or something else entirely.]
  344. >Azure: Use mercurial water to force the horror away from the two of you
  345. >Cyan: Fire plasma beams at the horror
  346. Shields are still up, yea?
  347. >If not, don't do that
  348. [OUTPUT: Yours is.]
  349. Right...
  350. >Cyan do something else
  351. [OUTPUT: You pierce the thing through the chest. It howls, and is forced into the wall next to the open door.]
  352. [OUTPUT: What shall 'else' be?]
  353. >Cyan: Launch electricity at the horror
  354. Uh oh, my internet is dying I think.
  355. Finally.
  356. Dinner woes.
  357. [OUTPUT: She nearly misses, but manages to strike the thing in the foot. It shrieks as electricity races up its limbs, to its heart.]
  358. [OUTPUT: ENEMY TURN.]
  359. [OUTPUT: The shambling thing leaps forth, and immediately kicks Cyan in the chest with beastly strength, and hind legs.]
  360. [OUTPUT: She screams, sails backwards, and strikes the wall.]
  361. [OUTPUT: Luckily, she takes no hit to the head.]
  362. Oh... Was her shield not up even if she didn't use plasma?
  363. [OUTPUT: You didn't move the shields so that they weren't pointing to the ceiling, you know.]
  364. ... whoops
  365. [OUTPUT: Hah.]
  366. [OUTPUT: YOUR TURN.]
  367. [OUTPUT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE]
  368. >Both: Move shields to face horror. Azure, remake shield using mercury water as well.
  369. [OUTPUT: You both do so.]
  370. [OUTPUT: ENEMY TURN.]
  371. [OUTPUT: The beast claws at the shields, and gets nothing but plasma burns and mercury poisoning.]
  372. [OUTPUT: YOUR TURN.]
  373. [OUTPUT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE]
  374. >Observe
  375. [OUTPUT: Ashen Horror: 7/15 HP. NOTES: Beasts, succumbed to the ashen plague of Aft'mathai. It sickens you to think these were once living beings with conscious goblin thoughts.]
  376. [OUTPUT: Cyan Amaranthine: 6/10 HP.]
  377. Alright.
  378. >Azure: Send poison water into the horror's mouth
  379. >Cyan: Send a lightning strike... Or something at it
  380. [OUTPUT: The thing swallows the poison whole, and shudders uncannily, before being struck by a bolt of sparks. Cyan's quite new at this. She isn't some sort of thunder mage.]
  381. [OUTPUT: ENEMY TURN.]
  382. [OUTPUT: The beast claws once more at the mercury-water shield. This time, it breaks through entirely. You are grabbed at by hideous mercury-stained claws.]
  383. [OUTPUT: It proceeds to grab hold of you, breaking your concentration.]
  384. [OUTPUT: Then, it flat out tosses you into the plasma shield beside you.]
  385. [OUTPUT: Your back strikes the thing, and you absolutely freak out, hot tears of pain streaking down your face. Cyan quickly deactivates the shield, before anything can get much worse.]
  386. [OUTPUT: YOUR TURN.]
  387. [OUTPUT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE]
  388. >Observe
  389. [OUTPUT: Ashen Horror: 3/15 HP. NOTES: Beasts, succumbed to the ashen plague of Aft'mathai. It sickens you to think these were once living beings with conscious goblin thoughts.]
  390. [OUTPUT: Cyan Amaranthine: 6/10 HP.]
  391. [OUTPUT: Azure Lapis: 5/15 HP. ]
  392. >Azure: Use medkit
  393. >Cyan: Remake plasma shield to cover you both
  394. [OUTPUT: You shakily manage to inject yourself with the medkit syringe's pale green fluid, and Cyan pulls up the shield, muttering apology upon apology to you for having the shield up earlier.]
  395. [OUTPUT: ENEMY TURN.]
  396. [OUTPUT: The beast does not attack. It knows the burn of the plasma.]
  397. [OUTPUT: YOUR TURN.]
  398. [OUTPUT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE]
  399. Is the poison water still in it?
  400. [OUTPUT: It is. Along with some mercury.]
  401. [OUTPUT: Speaking of that, the slices from the mercury-stained claws on your body were still a thing. Who knows if the medkit dealt with it?]
  402. >Azure: Take any Mercury on you and send it at the horror
  403. >Cyan: Zap the horror
  404. [OUTPUT: You spear the thing through the face, and Cyan sends an arc of electrical discharge at the thing, breathing heavily.]
  405. [OUTPUT: It drops to the ground, dead.]
  406. >Check injuries
  407. [OUTPUT: You're one hundred percent fine, thanks to the medkit. Cyan, on the other hand, is not as much so.]
  408. >Cyan: Use medkit
  409. >Regather and separate waters
  410. [OUTPUT: Combat is over! You cannot control Cyan.]
  411. >Suggest to Cyan she use a medkit
  412. [OUTPUT: You recollect your water, regardless.]
  413. [OUTPUT: She winces at your speaking, rubbing the back of her neck with a hand. "Uh, are you sure? I don't want to waste them." She cringes from what is likely pain.]
  414. >sure
  415. >"I'm sure."
  416. [OUTPUT: She uses one of her medkits. You can clearly see relief spread across her face as she does so, the pain fading with the injuries.]
  417. [OUTPUT: Now what?]
  418. >Consider looting horror
  419. [OUTPUT: You could probably do it. It doesn't have any pockets, however.]
  420. >Search it anyways
  421. [OUTPUT: It has nothing.]
  422. Don't know what I expected
  423. >Leave, try other door
  424. [OUTPUT: You both leave, and examine the other door.]
  425. [OUTPUT: It appears to be exactly the same as the one the Venator opened back in the ravine.]
  426. >Can you open it?
  427. [OUTPUT: You have one of the devices the Venator used to unseal it, yes. A Sanguine Keystone, your gem tells you.]
  428. >Use
  429. [OUTPUT: You open the door.]
  430. [OUTPUT: There's nothing inside, save for a stone tablet bearing an unrecognizable eldritch symbol, and some carvings on the walls.]
  431. well
  432. unfrıended hım
  433. >Examine carvings
  434. [OUTPUT: There's another picture of what you assume is the Lambda Manufactory, and the visage of the horrid Plague Doctor, beneath which Rodarbi text labels him Aft'mathai the Horrible.]
  435. He created ashen plague?
  436. [OUTPUT: It appears so. It would fit in with Topaz's ailment, certainly.]
  437. [OUTPUT: The symbol on the tablet seems familiar to you.]
  438. [OUTPUT: Somehow.]
  439. >Recall?
  440. [OUTPUT: You ponder it.]
  441. [OUTPUT: A sudden recollection from nowhere draws forth a conclusion.]
  442. [OUTPUT: WВЕРУ-ПЕИЫЦТ.]
  443. [OUTPUT: That was it.]
  444. [OUTPUT: It seems important.]
  445. ...
  446. >Ask Cyan if she knows what that is
  447. [OUTPUT: What, WВЕРУ-ПЕИЫЦТ?]
  448. Yea
  449. [OUTPUT: She looks at you oddly. "... You can read that?"]
  450. Hold on, I'm translating.
  451. "No... I just. Remember it from somewhere?"
  452. 'Magic water place'. Aklo.
  453. [OUTPUT: "Hmm. What do you know about it?"]
  454. how the hell did you figure that out
  455. I have an Aklo dictionary saved to my phone.
  456. aklo?
  457. >"Uh... Something to do with magic water place?"
  458. [OUTPUT: "..."]
  459. [OUTPUT: "Sounds like you're taking it too directly, to be entirely honest."]
  460. >"Maybe... "
  461. "I think that's just the most direct translation, yeah."
  462. >Look up what it is
  463. [OUTPUT: ERROR: Tongue of the ancients detected. Level 451 clearance required.]
  464. I thought levels that high were classified?
  465. [OUTPUT: Nah, they appear when reached. The number of levels is classified.]
  466. Ah
  467. >Respond to Cyan:"...Yeah, I think that was just the most direct translation. It definitely could be interpreted any number of ways."
  468. [OUTPUT: "Yeah."]
  469. >Try having your water touch the symbol?
  470. [OUTPUT: "I mean, a water place, or whatever, would probably either be a body of water."]
  471. [OUTPUT: Nothing happens in response.]
  472. [OUTPUT: "Or some kind of storm, maybe?"]
  473. Storm...
  474. >Try making a storm with your powers combined or whatever
  475. [OUTPUT: You do so, touching the tablet to no avail.]
  476. >"Or some place where 'magic water', whatever that might be, is made or stored. Who knows."
  477. [OUTPUT: "Hmm, yeah. Magic body of water. Occult Sea? Recondite Ocean? Maybe just Magic Bottle, or something. I don't know many more synonyms of magic, really."]
  478. >Try pouring rose water?
  479. [OUTPUT: "Water."]
  480. [OUTPUT: Tears, saliva, whatever it may be.]
  481. Are those not water
  482. >Try the ash water?
  483. [OUTPUT: Nothing happens.]
  484. [OUTPUT: You have yet to comprehend the meaning, let alone what this is.]
  485. >Retrieve
  486. Oh
  487. [OUTPUT: You take the Ashwater Serum back.]
  488. >Leave?
  489. [OUTPUT: The door is sealed.]
  490. [OUTPUT: It closed behind you.]
  491. Hmm
  492. [OUTPUT: Would you just like to start spouting possible meanings at the thing, or something else?]
  493. >... Sure
  494. [OUTPUT: "Mystic Vial. Um. Occult Bottle. Eldritch Sea?"]
  495. [OUTPUT: "Recondite Sea?"]
  496. [OUTPUT: "... Arcane Lake."]
  497. [OUTPUT: Cyan's eyes widen, as if she hadn't meant to say that, yet she did.]
  498. [OUTPUT: The symbol before you is burned into the minds of all within the room. Would you like to examine it within?]
  499. >Yes.
  500. [OUTPUT: Large bodies of water serve as a bulwark guarding sleep. Astral communion of consciousnesses in sleep is entirely possible for those attuned to the dripping.]
  501. [OUTPUT: The door opens behind you.]
  502. Hmm.
  503. >Leave
  504. [OUTPUT: You exit the Arcane Lake chamber.]
  505. [OUTPUT: Your phone rings with a text from Strangelove.]
  506. >Checj
  507. Check
  508. [OUTPUT: "SOMETHING APPEARS RATHER WRONG. OUR PATIENT APPEARS TO BE UNDERGOING SOME SORT OF REPEATED SEIZURE, ACCOMPANIED BY SCREAMING AND POSSIBLE BODILY DIFFUSION. AID REQUESTED."]
  509. >Run back
  510. [OUTPUT: You rush back to the ship. It still takes five minutes.]
  511. >Examine scene
  512. [OUTPUT: When you enter the thing, Topaz appears to be curled up on the ground, hands covering her face. She is definitely crying, though the look in her eyes is quite distant. Dull, perhaps?]
  513. >Show Strangelove Ashen Water
  514. [OUTPUT: "INTERESTING. SCANS SHOW THIS IS UNADULTERATED, HOW SHOULD I SAY THIS, PLAGUE JUICE."]
  515. >"Can you... Reverse engineer a cure from it?"
  516. [OUTPUT: "NEGATIVE. I MAY BE ABLE TO REVERSE-ENGINEER IT TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE DISEASE, BUT IT APPEARS THAT SOME SORT OF OCCULT METHOD WILL BE REQUIRED TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE DONE."]
  517. >Offer him the serum
  518. [OUTPUT: Strangelove accepts a sample. "COULD YOU AID THE PATIENT WHILE I ANALYZE THIS?"]
  519. >Aid her?
  520. [OUTPUT: How?]
  521. >Try talking to her
  522. [OUTPUT: What shall you say?]
  523. >"... What's wrong
  524. holy shıt
  525. ... That's terrible, but idk.
  526. 10/10 relationship skills
  527. "Do you need anything? How can I help you?" (sound good?)
  528. ... is there some sort of list of things you shouldn't say or
  529. I don't have personal experience in this.
  530. [OUTPUT: Very well.]
  531. [OUTPUT: Topaz blinks a little, looking up to you, light returning to her eyes.]
  532. [OUTPUT: She winces at the light in the ship. "I-I. Uh. Don't worry about me. I'm... I'm f-fine."]
  533. Yeah, I'm just... Not going to say anything
  534. >Turn off the lights?
  535. [OUTPUT: You turn off the lights.]
  536. Sorry, work.
  537. Someone else pick up the slack.
  538. [OUTPUT: Would you like to save your game, and return to this conversation at a later date?]
  539. yes
  540. [OUTPUT: Saving...]
  541. [OUTPUT: Saving...]
  542. [OUTPUT: Game saved successfully. Would you like to quit?]
  543. >y
  544. [OUTPUT: Game quit. Have a nice day.]
