- So recently (feb16) I just added the "Drugs" content disclosure for my channel.
- This may very well notify you next time you come by my livestream (I'm not entirely sure how it works, or what exactly it does)
- It's funny because back in the days, I never smoked. When I first started Twitch'ing, I was often seen as a pothead/scatterbrained sort of type I guess? (But I think this is better said to have had most to do with me being a blond.) Oldbois will remember the "boomStoneD" emote, which never really had anything to do with being or getting stoned- rather, just a funny picture that was taken where the sun was dominating my eyes at the top of a hike with friends, and named after the "Stone D. [dragon]" in Yu-gi-oh Forbidden Memories, for no reason overly compelling.
- What I intend to do with adding this disclosure, what it means going forward, and why I'm taking it so seriously all of a sudden.
- I did have a handful of streams over my time on Twitch where I had smoked just beforehand (marijuana), or maybe a few hours beforehand but in the same day and was still feeling the influence-marijuana AND/or tobacco-, which is to say, bringing a kind of "version of myself" that wouldn't have appeared organically, or entirely soberly. Even these days I'm careful about caffeine, as it is a stimulant, and while most of us in America (probably) are somewhat numbed to its effects/simply don't consider it a "drug" - if a few days have passed with no caffeine, then I drink an energy drink, I believe I do feel more stimulated than normal which also can alter my behavior.
- So yeah, as it has ended up, I love plant medicine. Let's not get that twisted. However there seems to be a most uncertain combination of plant medicines, and social media, that can put one in a most curious position of unprofessionalism live on camera, which is something I think almost everybody really would prefer not to see, and arguably is regulated in ways we aren't fully told ^^;
- What I am tired of feeling like is that two things on my agenda CONFLICT with one another: Streaming on Twitch, and medicating using legal plant medicine. I don't believe there should be any conflict at all, and evidently, the law says I am doing nothing wrong. I think this is a mistake I have made: where often I tell myself, Alright, can't stream today 'cos I smoked some bud. As a streamer, talk about shooting myself in the foot with a harpoon. Yowch.
- One thing I never intend to do is actually take an inhalation of any smoke DURING a livestream. That's just not it for me. Some do it, I've seen it done, some maybe can't help it. Not for me: simple. Furthermore, I don't smoke every day, so drug influence to my personality may not at all be present for the majority of my streams, still. Unless you count "It would show up in yo pee; your body's still influenced." (I sooner subscribe to the theory that most of us know "when we've sobered up" and don't need science to inform us of anything we didn't already know about ourselves.)
- Indeed, much of my life could be described as perpetually holding back, as I know my potential rises with the assistance of beautiful plant medicine, but feel uncomfortable somehow to behave at those maximums, to anyone really at all, let alone a live internet audience, vulnerable to the judgments beginning with but not limited to myself judging myself 😂 .
- For now, I'll publish this 'bin, but I have every intention of returning to revise and edit it until it stands for a fully proper drug statement disclosure by my own personal and *high* standards. (Hehe, get it?)
- A few more questions come to mind . . .
- What is the point of medicine if one is to shy away under its influence (from its effects)? This sounds less like medicine and more like voluntarily poisoning oneself.
- And, what is more recreational than social media? Like hello??
- But for now, one final thing to say: This pastebin also (for me) serves to put an END to this discussion-- not a beginning. This is my way of putting some of my outstanding anxiety to rest, and moving forward, unconcerned. Furthermore, unless you're my psychiatrist, dietician, or doctor (spoilers, you're not), I may opt not to talk much about what I have or haven't consumed live on stream, even if asked. I may ignore that completely since again, I'm aiming to diminish the distinction between a medicated me and a non-medicated me. "Intoxicated" is a state I intend never to bring to my stream. And lastly, the social media platforms seem to me, to not exactly be encouraging of drug or medicine consumption, which is fair enough, as it is probably better left as a "don't ask don't tell" subject, so you're welcome for writing about such a taboo subject. 😂
