>Dorothy stares back at you uncomfortably, fidgeting under your shocked gaze.
>"What in the hell are you doing here?" You fiercely snarl making the woman flinch back at the pure and intense hate rolling off of your voice.
>"May I come inside?" She asks "Explaining everything... it might take some time"
>You consider just slamming the door in her face, washing your hands of the entire situation, but at the same time, you doubt trying to walk away from the situation will simply disentangle you from whatever is going on.
>"Fine" you eventually ground out, stepping to the side to let her in.
>"Sir, who was at the-?" Lulu asks as she enters the living room, only to stop cold at the sight of Dorothy.
>"Lulu, Dorothy is here to explain about what's been going on" You say as calmly as you can, "Could you get Sammy, I think she deserves to hear about this as well"
>Moments later the four of you are sitting, and the tension in the air is like a physical miasma as you wait for Dorothy to begin explaining herself.
>From the corner of your eye you can see Sammy repeatedly clenching her right hand while Lulu sits next to her, unnaturally still save for the movement of her eyes to the phone in the room.
>Finally Dorothy speaks.
>"I think the best place to start would be a proper introduction, My name is Sarah Maxwell, Dorothy Ozmond died years ago in a car crash" She explains
>"Which explains why Leland freaked out when I told him that you were looking for him, but not why you had a killer model droid in you apartment or why you had a Cyborg bust into my house and try to destroy one of my Maidbots!" You snap, making the woman who had lied to you and almost gotten you killed flinch.
>"We- I wasn't the one who hired that cyborg!" She denies vehemently "And the only reason the Model Droid attacked you is because it was damaged by men Leland had sent after me!"
>"why the hell did you even have a Model Droid!?" You shoot back.
>"Because I needed someone that could look and act just like me while I looked into the myriad of mysterious deaths related to Sterling Robotics" she replied coolly.
>She nods as your eyes widen, "That's right, your mentor was far from the first to pass under suspect circumstances only to have everything covered up by Sterling, and whatever he had hidden in that locker of his was enough to warrant boobytrapping it with explosives"
>"So when you tried to force it open it exploded" you reply.
>"Yes, I had to rush that on account of Leland sending people to assault the Model Droid, my cover had pretty much been completely blown at that point" She replied.
>"Sir, do you really believe all of this?" Lulu asked suddenly, with obvious incredulity "Who else would hire a Cyborg to break into our home, and that's not even factoring in the fact that there's no way Agustus would have been able to sneak explosives into a Sterling building!"
>"Honestly, Agustus being able to sneak explosives in is the most believable thing she's said" You reply "Security was terrified of Agustus and he was well aware of that fact"
>"But that still leaves the Question of who hired the Cyborg" Sammy adds in, still clenching and unclenching her new hand "And why he was screaming the same thing that the Model Droid had been when he assaulted me"
>"Because he was one of the men that Leland hired to assault me that ended up damaging the Model Droid" Sarah explained as she puled out a device with a small screen showing a picture of the cyborg winding back a punch "this is the cyborg that broke into your home, correct?"
>Sammy gasped at the sight of the cyborg, recoiling slightly at the sight of her attacker, only calming when Lulu placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.
>"He probably just screamed the last thing that he heard it say, to make you think that I was the one who had sent it after you" Sarah said simply "A false flag operation to make you associate me with the attack once he realized that we weren't working together"
>"Okay, so you've explained why the Model Droid attacked me and showed that you weren't the one to send the cyborg after us, but that still leaves the Question of why you approached us" You say as you scratch at your chin, "It seems like an unnecessary risk, especially if I had simply decided to call the police when you showed up"
>"Because Agustus Umber and whatever he was hiding was my last hope of figuring this all out" She admits, obviously frustrated "And since whatever was in that damn locker got blown straight to hell, you're the last hope I have of finding anything out"
>"Well I'm sorry but I can't he-" You begin to dismiss, only for a memory to twinge in the back of your head "Wait, there might actually be something"
>You stand as you say this, walking to your room and quickly opening the door, you walk to the dresser in the room, with a small safe sitting on top of it.
>You dial in the combination and quickly open it, finding the old envelope among the documents within seconds.
>You thumb the unopened letter open and upturn it, letting the key that had been within it fall into your hand.
>It's the key to a safety deposit box.
>You don't dare read the letter that is also inside of the newly opened envelope.
>Walking back into the room, you nod and hold out your hand.
>"This is for a safety deposit box in the Lemont Grey Bank" You explain as you hand Sarah the key "I don't know what's inside and I don't care, just take it and stay the hell away from us from this point on"
