  1. >"Problem?"
  2. >"You want to know what my problem is, Anon?"
  3. >"Look at this. Look at ALL of this."
  4. >"Jewels and gems finer than most kings or princesses have, or ever WILL have because I have them."
  5. >"I have a swimming pool the size of a small lake that many a woman fawn over me to jump in. I have never so much as dipped a toe in it."
  6. >"See these paintings? These tapestries? The ones that cost me an arm and a leg just to get up on the wall? I've never so much as looked at them."
  7. >"My shirt is made of pure Equestrian silk seamed together by a personal tailor whose name I don't even remember."
  8. >"Every night, after every party, my guests leave without so much as knowing that I am the host."
  9. >"Nevertheless, every morning I manage to wake up next to some woman whose face I have never seen before."
  10. >"I have everything, Anon. I have HAD everyone."
  11. >"Everyone but Her..."
  12. >"She never comes."
  13. >"No matter how many jewels I amass, no matter how big my pool is, no matter how fine my shirts are or how much money I have..."
  14. >"She never shows up."
  15. >"I did all of this for her. So that maybe, just MAYBE she would turn my way."
  16. >"But she never did."
  17. >"She still doesn't know I exist."
  18. >"And now I am stuck with all...THIS. These things."
  19. >"So I'm sorry, Anon."
  20. >"I'm real fucking sorry that my attitude doesn't please you."
  21. >"...I love her, Anon. That's meant to make you feel full."
  22. >"So why do I feel so empty?"
  23. >That throws you for a loop.
  24. >You've been with Spike for years now.
  25. >You've been so focused on your work with him for so long that you've never spared any thought for love.
  26. >How can you advise your old friend and employer on something you have no experience in?
  27. >If it was about how fine machinery, engineering, or even alchemy, you would have had a concrete answer.
  28. >Life questions like this... not so much.
  29. >You can, however, make generalizations.
  30. "Sir, if you would allow me speak freely?"
  31. >He sits for a few moments without reacting before finally asking the various maids and manservants still in the room to leave.
  32. >As the doors shut on the room, he sighs before limply waving his hand at you to continue.
  33. "Listen Spike, I know you don't need me telling you what to do. You're your own man. But maybe you're placing a bit too much importance on this one girl. There are other fish in this vast sea, and as you know, many would throw themselves at your feet for a chance with you.
  34. >At this, he once again sighs.
  35. >"Damnit Anon, haven't you been listening? I don't care for those women! I know I could have every single one of them, or even multiple at a time, but they are not her, and they never will be."
  36. "Then perhaps you're simply approaching this problem from the wrong angle. I know the Lady Rarity has a great love of beautiful things. Perhaps a few gifts sent her way could pique her interest?"
