Showcase Race rant

I'm going to throw this all out there then I'm done.

I don't like the showcase race stuff. I'm annoyed that the premise of the "new" showcase race is to earn money and become famous. Remember when speedrunning was a hobby? It still should be!

People are saying that more canerous people will come from all this shit, I'm fully aware. It's only going to get worse but we can't do anything. I don't even want to blame anyone, many do, but I don't. We can blame whoever all day long.

Cosmo says this will attract new people to speedrunning, it's going to attract the WRONG people. We don't need people who only care about money joining the community, talking shit and racing with the hopes of earning some fast cash. I hate the fact that this is what's probably going to happen. Trust me guys, I'm as annoyed as you.

The worst thing is that they teamed up with the worst people for this. Machinima is literally the worst people to team up with. They steal content, they rip off other people. They're just the worst. I can't express how much I hate them. All this is going to do is make people more angry and fill chats with more clueless people that are only going to bitch about the way we speedrun.

My biggest issue with this though, and this is just a personal thing you might not think the same. I dislike that someone can win money, then just walk away with it. Since when has the speedrunning community held a contest with money involved and let people walk away with it? The money should be donated to someone, a charity, a foundation, anything!
