<Vigilant_GM> IT IS THE 41ST MILLENNIUM...
<Vigilant_GM> Fires still alight on the streets, smoke spreading across the plateau, the gun cutter flies back to Blackhall. While Baird and the Inquisitor converse on the lower passenger half-deck, Velam goes over Mortem's sudden, unannounced briefing. In the Loremaster's gathered notes, the Inquisitor explains that a conspiracy at the highest levels of Sector government appears to be unfolding,
<Vigilant_GM> one that may force the hand of the Inquisition. Because of the magnitude of action the Inquisitor may be forced to undertake, he has tasked Throne-Cell Cordius Primus with discovering the extent of involvment in the brewing heresy from the ruling classes of Juno.
* Karpath pilots the cutter along with Jace as they make for the Blackhall, he keeps tabs on the Cutters systems noting where damage is currently so that repairs can be made along with improvement.
* Velam pours over his notes and the transcribing of the Inquisitor's briefing. "Most perturbatory....mooosssssst perturbatory." He makes several other notes on his dataslate before looking up and relaxing for a moment. "This came along much quicker than I could have possibly imagined." He comments to himself before continuing his work.
<Vigilant_GM> When the idling engines come to a halt on Blackhall's landing pads, Mortem turns briefly to one side, "Gather and brief your cell. I must confer with Mordecai."
* Baird turns to the Inquisitor once Velam has finished. "We have already begun digging, we work to make contact with an off-shoot of the Imperial faith. They have already begun preaching out against the nobles. We will direct our questioning towards them to begin with."
* Baird nods "Of course Inquisitor." +Cordius Primus report to the primary briefing room.+ Baird strides down the ramp and towards the manse.
* Clare adjusts herself from leaning on the Cutter, looks at the Locket again as she seals it and puts it in her pocket, then walks out towards Barid
* Velam follows Baird out the guncutter, putting his dataslate away for the time being.
* Karpath gets up from his seat and begins to make his way out, but as doing so he says to Jace, "Make sure to have the Cutter transferred to the hanger so we can repair it later." He then leaves the cockpit and makes his way to the briefing room.
<Clare> "When you are done with your briefing, may I talk to you Lord Guljian?"
* Almarax returns riding one of the undamaged APCs superficial scorch marks and pockmarks in his armour. Disembarking he informs his Technomats of the damaged APC and instructs them to get it repaired well enough to be driven back to Blackhall before heading to the briefing room.
<Baird> "Join us for the briefing. Afterwards we will have a conversation."
* Sister_Thesse makes her way towards the briefing room.
* Davos follows along.
* Clare nods to him and looks to towards where Tony died, then looks away a clearly sad and follows them to the Briefing room
<Vigilant_GM> Nils finds Baird on his way into the Manse. "If you have a moment, it's about Nico."
<Velam> "I'll prepare the briefing room, Lord Guljian." Velam passes by Baird and moves past.
* Baird waits for several cell members to pass by him on the way to the briefing room. Baird nods to Velam in thanks before turning to Nils. "I have a feeling I know what you're going to say Kaytian." Baird sighs heavily. "Go ahead."
<Vigilant_GM> "He didn't make it," she says shaking her head. "I'm sorry."
* Baird nods and forces a smile. "He gave his life in service to the Emperor, there can be no greater duty." Baird clears his throat and glances back towards Nils. "Thank you Kaytian. Is there anything else?"
<Vigilant_GM> "His body is being moved into cold storage. Find me when you have made a decision on what to do with his remains," she says placing an understanding hand on Baird's elbow.
<Baird> "Of course." Baird nods once more and takes a deep breath before pulling away and heading towards the waiting Throne Cell Operatives.
* Almarax stands off to one corner, eerily still bar the movement of two of his mechadendrites systematically inspecting and repairing the battle damage to his armour.
* Clare leans on a wall her arms crossed but her eyes on everyone in the room
* Karpath sits in one of the chairs around the briefing table.
* Davos takes a seat
<Vigilant_GM> The briefing extends the information and new task to the rest of the Throne Cell. In no uncertain terms, the investigation going forward is of critical importance. The nobility is to be vetted for complicity in the wider conspiracy, with particular focus on the Proxy Council, and Praefectrix Charlotta Anastasia XX.
<Vigilant_GM> It appears that Mortem has dedicated a number of resources to moving this as a top priority, and as though to emphasize this point, enters the room mid-briefing.
<Velam> "My lord." Velam greets the inquisitor, but is not as surprised as the first time this happened earlier in the day. Still...
<Vigilant_GM> "Tell me more about this priest."
* Baird gestures towards Velam. "Apprise the Inquisitor of what we have so far Loremaster."

<Velam> "What we know, at least for now my lord, is relatively little." Velam looks scrolls through his dataslate for a moment. "He has some connections with High Cardinal Harris, who seems to have some relations and agreement perhaps with the radicals who the nobility kicked out. One can only wonder..." He clears his throat. "But just recently our own cell has given us a new nugget of information. They have attached themselves to a
<Velam> band of roaming outcasts, they suspect the leader is this priest. Known as 'The Seer.' Alas, that is all we know for now." Velam frowns, going over the information one more time, miming the words in breakneck speed.
<Vigilant_GM> "A potentially useful witness, willing to speak against the corruption of the nobility," Mortem comments.
<Vigilant_GM> "If indeed he has connections to the Arch Cardinal, however, you must remain vigilant that he not be a mere pawn in a dangerous game. The Ecclesiarchy will reach for worldly power whenever left unchecked; it is the Ordo Hereticus that must keep balance."
<Vigilant_GM> "Pursue this further," he affirms with a nod. "But an accusation may well be insufficient. How do you intend to proceed," He asks turning to Baird.
<Baird> "Against such forces at work, proof will be the only way. As you say just an accusation won't be enough. We can use the proof as leverage to turn the factions against the council and if it goes all the way to the top, the Lord-Sector herself."
<Baird> "As for the outcasts we make contact and ascertain the truth. As far as anyone on the planet is concerned Lord Guljian is an avid archaeologist. That will provide ample cover for venturing into the waste itself."
<Vigilant_GM> "I must coordinate assets Sector-wide, and perhaps beyond. However, I will remain on this cesspit of corruption for as long as is necessary. While I remain here you will continue to enjoy operational independence," he pauses a moment, "yet because I understand the difficulty of your assignment I will assist in the stewardship of necessary assets to carry out your duty."
<Vigilant_GM> At this, he turns to Clare.
* Clare adjusts herself from leaning and look to the Inquisitor
<Clare> "He really found quite the mess didn't he."
<Vigilant_GM> "I held no sentimental value for your relative. Yet his loss is felt more greatly than you may know."
<Vigilant_GM> "If your mind, spirit, and body are found worthy, you will take his place. And in service, find your vengeance."
<Clare> "I didn't know he was helping you, but it makes alot of sense now, now that I think about it."
* Clare sighs
<Velam> "Your brother was valued member of this team. And a dear friend." Velam adds, after adjusting his spectacles.
<Vigilant_GM> "Interrogator. Once you have carried out induction, you will present any requests for Throne Cell assets to me. I will provide where necessary."
<Baird> "Of course Inquisitor, I will have Velam compile what we need."
<Clare> "He never liked to keep a Case unsolved, but...I am sure he had his reasons, For Tony. I will do what it takes to finish his job as tall of a order it is."
* Clare looks to her locket once more and opens it and gives it a look then looks to the party as she seals it
<Clare> "Then you need to get information right? if you will have me I can do what I can."
<Vigilant_GM> Leaving the cell to conduct its preparations, Mortem leaves the chamber.
