- Thinking back on it, going there was a stupid idea. I would like to blame the stupidity of youth, the curiosity of man, or any other such outside factors, but it would be a lie. A simple diversion of blame. I feel it was a stupidity I shared with many though, as the number of people who were there that day was astonishing. The number that left was less so. A mix of believing the authority when they say it is safe, and simply wanting it to be so we could satiate our curiosity led to us ignoring the obvious, and it is a mistake I still live with. And I was one of the lucky ones. The posters and advertisements all painted a rosy red picture of a wondrous place of unimaginable places and unbelievable sights. While what they said was true, it was only a fraction of what that place entailed.
- They knew.
- I no longer need to sleep to experience a nightmare, I simply remember.
