Quick notes whilst resorting
-----------------------------
Game patches tend to be stored in the alternate versions folder.
In the case of rance IX that folder is called Installers and isos.
If a game is pre-translated, it'll be very likely that the JP release is in the included alternate versions folder.
Pre-translated games also come pre-installed.

For earlier games you'll also find a lot of alternate versions for different systems.
This does take up some extra space, which is why some earlier years somehow manage 2/3 GB, this is because of the FM TOWNS versions.

Also there'll be dupes, especially in earlier games where Alicesoft have uploaded them as freeware.
This is because this collection is cobbled together from mixed sources, so for earlier games that would be neo-kobe, MAME and Alicesoft freeware.
Some later games have dupes from alternate sources, this probably happened because I grabbed the game from some forum before I grabbed one of the big collection torrents.

I'd prefer if people kept all dupes and the JP releases in case of ever needing a reupload. Its probably like 210 GB unpacked so it shouldn't be a huge issue.
The more people that have it the easier it is to find it again.

Takegasatsu DLC included in rance VI

Some doujin games are included, most notably Alice senki 1 and 2 and Big Bang Beat -1st impression- and BBB revolve.
I don't know if there's any others.

Alice senki 2
I have no clue what the original source even did with this folder.
But Alice Senki 2 seems to work, make sure to open it with アリス戦記２.exe

Rance quest pre-installed seems to have the 2.082 translation patch installed.
I didn't save the separate translation files though and the link recently died.
2.050 patch is included but rance quest will be localized in 2025 anyways, so it's not like these patches are a huge loss.
Reupload would be nice though.

Old archive notes

Last updated 19-06-2019

The archived version is compressed for organisational reasons and not to save space.
Some space will be saved, but in the later years its already compressed fine so it doesn't really help.

The prefix years are based on the game's original release date, this is so I can pick games in order.
This means that the release dates of the included versions will probably differ.

You might need to get a windows OS (or some other OS) that supports 16 bit for a few games.
Most of the Champsoft games aren't developed for DOS/windows, so emulate a japanese PC or use original hardware.

These games are part of hint disks or collection disks.
Sometimes the anthology/extra disks are hidden away with other releases as well.

Further notes
=============
Lemonade Soukangou Sarawareta Miki-chan (pc-88) and Little Princess (msx2) are both added in the champsoft folder.
They seem to mostly use the same assets. A japanese webpage i stumbled upon described the MSX2 version as "recreated", but they also noted that you complete the game differently. So a walkthrough for one won't work on the other.

Most of these games are untranslated, i'm just hoarding them.
You'll also find a lot of doubles, this is because i'm mixing "scene releases" with freeware releases.
For example there are some MAME versions in the champsoft folder and another example would be the freeware releases of early alicesoft games and neo-kobe releases of the same games.

Also during the mid 90's the "CD Versions" of games are marked to be compatible with pc-98\Towns\Windows instead of just one, so try your luck.

Most bonus disks are stored where they originally belong.
Example would be Alice CD Ver1.00 which is in the 1998 pastel chime folder.

D.P.S. Dream Program System SG Data 2/3 MSX2 (ＤＰＳ ＳＧ ｄａｔａ２ / ＤＰＳ ＳＧ ｄａｔａ３) (1991) are sort of missing.
They are essentially just the scenario's of DPS SG set 2 and 3 without the system software. This means that you could use DPS SG 1's system disk with the scenario's of DPS SG 2/3.
