  1. Final Fantasy Games are the upmost height of stylishness. They are more interesting than the average JRPG. their presentation tends to be very well polished, and their stories are highly accessible while not shying away from the political intrigue and depth needed for a good adult fantasy. The gameplay is also it's own kind of fun, with the various side systems they add into later entries to shake up the turn by turn style that will get boring otherwise.
  2. people tend to push back against Final Fantasy because it's popular, but then they go play really shallow, cringe inducing Role Playing Games that crib very heavily from Dungeons and Dragons without adding anything of their own. but Final Fantasy has all kinds of original and inventive monster designs, and tons (TONS) of eyecandy.
  3. the vast number of Final Fantasy titles also means that there is nearly something for everyone. you dont have to enjoy every single one (in fact, I suggest that most people dont, it's a waste of your life and will make you a terrible person to talk to depending on your temperament), but if you find something that looks cool in one of them and stick with it, you're usually going to have a fun time.
  4. also, I already said it - but those games are extremely stylish. and the character designs are sexy. very rarely has a high fantasy series made me want to get to know the character more and maybe even have sex with some of them. But so many of the Final Fantasy characters are top tier. I often wonder why I dont draw more final Fantasy fanart, but I guess it's because it inspires me to put in more effort than usual, so I have a pretty large backlog - even 15, which everyone says is terrible has many redeeming qualities that you can't get from other series if you can get into the premise , half hearted as it is .
  5. but the heavy hitters, final Fantasy 9, Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy X are all very deep and varied adventures in their own right. there is a reason 7 has a bazillion sequels, because it is very good and inventive and it's environmentalist themes are surprisingly mature, despite the jagged translation.
  6. personally my favorites are Final Fantasy 8, which tells a story about a world steeped in warfare and class, but eventually turns into a time travel story that spoilers ||gives me a lot to think about in terms of relationships, and making the most out of mistakes. and moving on from the implied losses of time and effort wasted||, and Final Fantasy X-2, which has the best version of Final Fantasy style character Class switching I've ever seen with the 'Dress Sphere' system. Seeing the girls try on different creative outfits and tailoring their jobs to my play styles and preferences is endlessly fun and engaging, and if that wasn't enough, it also has a Pokemon style recruitment system where you can capture Monsters and add them to your party. the atmosphere is also very upbeat all through the game and you get the sense that if you were also on an adventure with these girls, you'd totally get lost in the kooky fashions, and customs of the world. In the end it's a story about growing up and taking a stance on what kind of person you want to be and pushing your way towards that goal, despite the state of the world changing all around you, or others begging you to remain the same.
  7. or one of the finer spin offs, Final Fantasy Type-0 which is probably the most Anime of them all, but it's perfect for that, due to the bite sized nature of it's plot and gameplay. I can jump in, pick a character and get a solid one or two hours enjoying the adventures of these teenage war crime fighters. I dont really have anything I can say in the game's favor regarding the plot however, because it's not 'that' good, it's just okay. but the polish applied to the game makes up for it, because it's very pretty imo. the story is also pretty incredible too, not to spoil it, but as a forgetful person - it hit me pretty hard by the time I got to the ending.
