- Started running this game in late 2012, grinding any% runs which at the time the record was still around 43 or 42 minutes or so. Me, Surreal, and twewyplayer (BJ/beejay) were all competing for it.
- I didn't get super serious with 120% until 2016- I had only done some "casual" runs of it up till then, coasting off my any% skills but only getting like sub 2 or whatever, routeless.
- How are things going currently?
- I'd say fairly bad. Or just not good enough. I need a new angle of approach. This may be the most important aspect of effective speedrunning. What do I mean exactly? [How you are going about it]....[mindset]....something like that
- My best run since playing again here in the latter half of 2026 is a 1:22:41, RTA-timed. "Only" about 1m and 22s off my "actual" PB. Just look at the words I would choose here. "Only" an entire minute and a half. "Actual" PB, as if to emphasize it. I'd like to reformat my thinking a bit. There's no reason that I can come up with that I wouldn't be at my best with this game. Today. Not yesterday, not yesteryear. Today. Why would any performer or athlete ever expect that their growth, like, stopped, or went in reverse? Drugs? Yeah I used to suck down those Bang energy drinks while running. (I might again!) Motivation loss? Maybe. I don't think it's worth worrying about motivation. You either want to do something or you don't. Divided focus? (Heh, couldn't be.) Age? Maybe. (Is it just a number?)
- So my new approach is pretty simple. Beat the damn splits. Then celebrate with a victory lap to reinforce. That's it. Wait, there's a few other things you need to know.
- - 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐫𝐮𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤. Ideally on a consistent day-I'm thinking Thursday, but if that doesn't work out the day could jump around. The shorter/more frequent streams just ain't doing it for me. I need to sit down and just get lost in the dragon realms m8
- - 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞, 𝐛𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 [𝐧𝐨 𝐦𝐢𝐜] when I'm speedrunning this game. I'm planning on keeping handcam just to help verify my legitimacy, but honestly, if you question whether what you're seeing from me is legitimate, that's probably a you-thing. You might need to work on your trust.
- - I will reserve the ENTIRE day, for Spyro, and nothing else. I will start early, and go until I've beaten the splits, even if only by a -0.1. And I wasn't kidding about the victory lap. This means, if I beat my splits first try, the stream will be about 3 hours long, with 2 full runs. If I just cannot beat my splits that day, I'm thinking my stream-cap will be 16 hours.

- As far as what other plans I have for my stream, my next move would be to run Yu-gi-oh Forbidden Memories and hopefully do so once a week as well. ETA November?
- From there, eventually, a once-a-week reading/music stream too. ETA 2027
- Thanks for bein' with me! A special shout to all recent subscribers. I was going to list by name, but I can't find that list anymore. Anyway thank you. It's always OK if you only plan on subscribing one singular month. I wouldn't expect to be granted a regular place in your financial routines.
- Since I won't get a chance to VOICE my often paranoia-inspired musings on stream for a while, I'll write one out here. 40-60 viewers or so? Seriously? That's what it keeps telling me. I'm genuinely surprised. If there's still that much love for the game, that's amazing. And I really do appreciate you tuning in. I'm always of the concern that many numbers online can so easily be faked, without our knowing. Imagine a simple calculation where it takes your follower count and automatically adds a tiny percentage of that to your "viewer count"- just so you still feel a tad important. Just how easily a lot of this stuff can be shadier than the public at large would ever realize. Hard to believe it isn't taken advantage of when we would all be helplessly fooled by a number.
- All I'll say is, often, I feel that absolutely no one is watching. Ok maybe 3 or 5 viewers is the feeling. My chatroom, a ghost town. And it's alright, I kinda failed my audience as a streamer for many years now. I'm not cut up about it. I'll take the lurkership if it's real. (With a grain of PJSalt)
