  1. Abby
  2. Every legend has an origin to be told. For The Voices, it all started with one trainer and his beloved Charmeleon. Abby was the first Pokemon ever obtained by The Voices and is said to be the first to know what they’re truly capable of. When starting off with Red, Abby quickly saw that her first owner was very strange. Yet this didn’t bother her much as the two grew very attached after defeating Gym Leader Brock. This feat gained Abby the respect of her new friends and teammates, becoming a beloved part of the team during their travels. Among her teammates were her comedic buddy Jay the Ratatta and the very open-minded Abba the Pidgeot. Together Abby and Abba led the team with their determination and passion, while Jay stuck with Abby whenever something was bothering the Charmeleon. Eventually Red finally made his way to Mt. Moon. Here they encountered the evil mob organization, Team Rocket. After defeating them, they soon discovered something that would forever change the course of their journey. At first glance it may seem to be a simple fossil, but for Red, Abby, Abba, and Jay it became something more. For Lord Helix spoke and offered to show Red greatness in the form of Anarchy. While Abby wasn’t too keen about this proposition, Abba accepted it with open wings believing that generosity and any help is always appreciated. Lord Helix saw potential in Abba and allowed him to take the mantle of being the first prophet of the pantheon gods. Abby yet again wasn’t impressed, but rather started to get concerned about the Helix’s influence over Abba and Red. Things went back to normal for a while, as Abby and Abba worked together to lead the team and take on any more Gym Leaders that crossed their path. Noticing how Abby worried for his sanity, Red decided to take a small break after their victory against Gym Leader Erika. It was at the hotel building, that Abby and Red came a cross another pokemon that would complete the bonds surrounding the team. A young, happy, and friendly Eevee who was unfamiliar with the world that awaited him. Abby and Jay were thrilled to have another new member in the team and Abba was happy to see the Eevee take interest in learning about Helix teachings. From there, Abby, Abba, Jay, and now Eve became like family to each other. Sharing their laughs, their struggles, and their concerns during their course in Red’s adventure. Abby even started to take notice in Eve’s admiration for her and started acting like a big sister towards the little guy. As peachy as things may sound, there was always a few thorns along the way. Every once in a while, Abby and Abba would argue about Helix’s true intentions and what evolution Eve should become. Should he be the Vaporeon that Abba and Helix destined him to be? Or should he just follow his heart like Abby would? Abby would even make fun hints that Eve would look adorable as a Flareon. Despite Abby’s questioning and, as Abby would say, Abba’s “talking out of his feathers”, their disputes never stopped them from continuing their journey and enjoying the golden times that came their way. Fate on the other hand had another cruel thing to say, when Abby and Jay became the first releases at the PC. Both of them have never been seen nor heard from since. The assumption of their deaths sent a shockwave of change throughout the team. Notably Abby’s remaining two best friends now became sworn enemies. The once open winged Abba became the holy figure of Anarchy, Bird Jesus. While the open-hearted Eve became the demonic symbol of Democracy, The False Prophet.

  4. To get to know Abby’s history throughout the series, let’s take a step back to the origins of The Released Underground. The story begins after her release and Red entrance into the Hall of Fame. While most releases during that time resulted in death, there were a few special pokemon that were saved for a special cause. For her admirable leadership skills and her adventurous heart, Abby was the first released pokemon saved by Colress’ son, the Lost Host Alonso. He used his advanced technology of time travel to hack into the PC at the moment of release and explained to both Abby and Jay that they would have to live in secret now. Alonso began putting a special team together to help him reach his goal. While Jay understood the circumstances, Abby refused to accept the curse fate has dealt her. The two ran off to Celadon City, with Jay chasing after Abby. He tried to explain to her that this was their new lives now and they should be glad that they were given another chance. Jay faced an unfortunate end when he came face to face with a demon. Abby was left traumatized after finding out just who this demon was that held Jay’s lifeless body. She recognized him as her old friend Eve, now The False Prophet, out for blood. The blood dripping from the Flareon’s claws was Jay’s. She tried to get through to her old friend Eve, even breaking into tears, but the Flareon stood unphased, his mind full of murderous intent. He did not even recognize the poor Charmeleon he once idolized anymore. Without any other options and being outmatched by the Flareon’s fierce power, Abby faced his aggressive assault. In the end, the Flareon looked down upon the once more dying Abby. Not having the heart to put her out of her misery, he instead walked away with PC creator Bill. Maybe Abby’s words got through to him after all, but sadly they reached too little too late. Alonso found Abby severely wounded moments later and nursed her back to health. While her body made a full recovery, the same couldn’t be said for her mental state. Confused, traumatized, and heart broken, Abby lost the will to keep pushing through this new life she’d been given. For her sake, Alonso decided it was best to turn her back into data in his device, preventing any further risk of the timeline being altered. He will soon call upon her again when he has more members for his team.

  6. Fast forwarding to years later when Opening Act was still new. Alonso came back to his own time with now two new Pokemon. The hopeless romantic Zexy the Torchic of Emerald and The Legendary Admiral, Vivi the Sentret of Crystal. Explaining the situation to the two, Alonso figured it was time for both of them to meet the original living legend. Releasing Abby from the device once more, he hoped they could manage to get through to her. Seeing her heart still shattered after what happened years ago, Vivi would share his wisdom and life lessons with Abby. Zexy shared his stories about himself and M4 The Azumarill’s beginnings. When Abby revealed her story with the two, Zexy at first didn’t know what to say. Vivi, however, opened first by explaining how companions come and go, but there was always a chance they’re still the same pokemon deep down. Zexy also suddenly remembered what he learned recently about Host Napoleon’s Hall of Fame victory. He pointed out that Vivi was right about what he’d said, pointing out how there was a Flareon who claimed to have redeemed himself from his past as The False Prophet. This shed some new light to Abby, making her want to see the Flareon for herself. Around the time Solareon the Flareon and Bird Jesus the Pidgeot put their differences aside, a heartwarming smile broke through on Abby’s face. Abba and Eve were friends once more in her honor. Seeing how Solareon wants to keep making her proud, she decided to do the same for him. Turning back to Zexy and Vivi, she accepted the offer Alonso had given her back in the era of Red. Since then, Abby, Zexy, and Vivi formed together the organization Alonso was hoping for. A place where the selected released Pokemon can live together while hiding in the shadows and watching over what they see fit. Abby’s original name for the organization was going to be “The Dark Shadows Society of Alonso”, but they were in favor of something less cultish and edgy. In the end, they settled for Vivi’s pitch, “The Released Underground”. For many years and runs throughout the actual series, Abby was only talked of in legends through the eyes of Solareon. Her only cameo appearance was Heart Gold Run’s “Mt.Silver Arc when Sunshine the Shinx refused to believe the voices about Solareon’s sudden absence to save his previous owner, Bill. Abby gave Sunshine the Old Amber as proof and warned her that there was another pokemon who was ready to end his life if she managed to catch him. This was The Released Underground’s first task, to prevent Solareon and M4 the Azumarill’s deaths in their fierce battle. Despite making her appearance to help Sunshine and C3 The Minun, Abby and her new released friends were once again disappeared.

  8. After arcs of cameo appearances, mentions, and folk tales. The legend comes to life, as Agent 006 the Bibarel contacted Zenny the Leavanny in Kalos. She’s a bit shocked to find a certain “familiar Pokemon” in Ambrette Town’s Aquarium. To avoid being caught, Abby made a quick escape before they had the chance to take her in for questioning. Only to discover afterwards that she had met a shockingly familiar presence, who had followed her. They were ones who first obtained her and the ones who were grieved to watch her go. The Voices has followed Abby under the Coumarine City bridge, where her and Zexy had to give an explanation for their false deaths. Knowing how they were in the past, Abby reaches out for their help to see if they can spot out the source of the ongoing Anarchy Crisis that is shaking up the universe they live in. While her main goal is to assure the safety of Solareon and his family, she hopes to help him during his time of need when this is all over.

  10. As adventurous and easy going as she is around her teammates and now The Released Underground, Abby is known for being an amazing sharp strategist, headstrong, and processing a never give up attitude in battles. These traits make her a role model that many fire types to look up to. It’s this charm that gave Eve the idea that he should evolve into a proud Flareon (twice). Since the days of the Underground, Abby roams in silence. She kept a keen eye on Solareon and his family, being their guardian angel in their times of distress. Abby has grown very proud of how Solareon is maturing, to the point that she now has a very soft spot for him and admires him too. At the very least she finds him charming, as she ironically hoped for in the past. As for her hobbies and passions, Abby keeps the S.S Ticket Red gave her. It reminds her of her love for the seas as well as the bond they once shared together. Her personality shines best when it comes to Zexy and Vivi. With them she’s not afraid to speak her mind or be lively, though sometimes she can be very curious what Vivi is up to.
