- Hey guys. As many of you probably have already been made aware, I'm going to be doing a little run of streams to try to raise money to send my mother to where she was born in Germany. I feel this is a good opportunity to provide a backstory about my mother, and what this is ultimately all about.
- My mother was born in a refugee camp in what became Western Germany shortly after World War 2. When she was still a child, her father and mother decided they needed to move from Germany to find a more prosperous life and were initially planning on moving to Australia. However, my mother was sick at the time, and the boat to Australia would not accept her, and the family decided they would instead move to the United States. They ended up landing in New York, and took many trains all the way across the country, eventually ending up in Idaho. They lived there with no running water, little electricity, and almost no money.
- After a few years, my grandfather decided to move them to a prospering community in Cleveland. They intended on visiting Germany and seeing family as often as money would allow, but when my mother was a teenager, her father unexpectedly died of a heart attack, and so my mother and her sisters were left without the head of the household. My grandmother worked 3 jobs to keep the house heated and the children fed. My mother worked her ass off and graduated high school at 16, and then college at 20.
- After my parents split when I was about 10, my mother and I were basically left as a team of two. She and I have been as close as can be since. She took me to all of my baseball games as a kid. She sat through punk rock concerts that I wanted to go to as 13-14 year old. Without blabbing on, she's been there for me through everything one person could imagine growing up. She's the best person I've ever has the pleasure of knowing, and the most supportive mother I could have ever asked for.
- It's 2018 and she has only been back to visit Germany once in almost 60 years. My mother loves to travel, but because she was the head-of-house for the better part of 20 years, she was always working to provide for me and my siblings, and putting herself second. Now, I want to take an opportunity to put her first.
- Last year, in one week we raised 4,500 dollars for the drummer of my band, Gabe, to help him with what life threw his way. I don't expect that absurd figure to be reached again, but I'm hoping we can raise enough that I can put together a nice package for my mother. She hasn't seen some of her family still living in Germany in literal decades. She talks about it weekly. I know this will mean the world to her, and so I want to do everything in my power to help make it a reality for her.
- As per usual, you'll be able to provide Youtube videos with any donations you are kind enough to contribute. Any and all donations will go directly towards sending her home. Below are a list of incentives that I'll be performing for you guys if goals are met. Please feel free to contribute other ideas you might have and I'll be happy to include them.
- I'd like to once again thank you all for the unbelievable support that you've given me over the past 4+ years of me doing Twitch. I've said this many times before, but I truly never will understand how I could be lucky enough to have the community around me that I do. None of this is possible without you guys. And I'll always be humbled by that.
- Incentives (Bits also count towards this total):
- -$100 - Dream Daddy playthough
- -$250 - Silent Hill 2 Playthough (I have played this before off steam but I am terrified of horror games)
- -$500 - Doki Doki literature Club playthrough
- -$1,000 - Undertale GENOCIDE playthough
- -$1,500 - Special Guest appearance on stream DURING marathon
- -$2,000 - Mario Golf ALL CATEGORIES speedrun (This took me just under 10 hours last time, will go for PB)
- -$2,500 - Momma Pickles will join us on stream for a night of Jackbox (she will not be aware of this marathon so DON'T BLOW IT)
- -$3,000 - Austin returns for another spooky game playthrough (The last time this happened Austin was so freaked out, please make this happen)
- -$3,500 - TBD
- -$4,000 - TBD
- -$4,500 - TBD
- -$5,000 - I honestly have no idea what I would do if this mark was hit. My best idea is to up my stream total hours this year from 1,500 to 1,750, but I'm open to other suggestions.
