⇝background; nayoon's childhood was pretty ordinary until she was fourteen. every weekend she would visit her grandparents with the rest of her family, she had many hobbies such as drawing or ceramics or spending time with their family dog. she and her mom would always cook or bake together, she helped her brother with school and often sneaked in her father's office when he was working just so she could watch him create interiors of homes for his clients. he always pretended not to notice her but always smirked a little as he saw her trying to take a look on his computer screen. she also had good friends in school as well as good grades. when she turned thirteen, her mother got seriously sick with lung cancer. ever since then she woke up to her mother's violent coughing every morning. nayoon tried to help her as much as possible so she wouldn't get more sick, but at one time she got upset and when she was supposed to mop the floor, she did it more offhandedly and her mother noticed. her mother called her out for it and told nayoon that she will do it herself if she wants her to die sooner, the girl didn't say anything and kept a scoff on her face which indeed made the mother get up from her bed. every since that day mrs. im got only worse and had to stay in hospital. nayoon went to see her only three times because she was busy with school and her part time job that she had found to support the family while her mother was sick. im nayoon wasn't by her mother's side when her time came and she passed away in the hospital. ever since that day she blames herself for her death because she thinks she made her worse and hates herself because she wasn't with her in her last moments to tell her she's sorry or that she loves her.

⇝personality; im nayoon is the kind of a girl who likes to care about everyone else before herself. her friends and her family are her biggest priority now. however she tends to hide her feelings behind a stone-cold expression, which makes many people think that she's careless. nayoon though is a warm girl inside who can't stand violence and arguments, that's why she seems to always be careful about her words. she likes to cook for other just so she is sure that they eat and drink properly and she also likes giving random small presents to people because after her mother died, she promised herself to make sure that the people around her are happy. when she meets someone new, she's usually very quiet around them at first and just observes them. the reason for that is that she is scared of hurting or getting hurt by that person once she gets close to them, but once she warms up to them she can talk about anything that comes to her mind no matter wheter it's about the reason why roses have torns or why rain makes you cold. still she watches her mouth so she wouldn't say anything offensive.
even though she is often reserved, if you upset her or hurt someone who's close to her, she won't hesitate to call you out. when she sees that someone is ungrateful for the ones around them, she will immediately educate that person because she simply doesn't want others to go through what she did.

⇝how he acts around her; since jungkook is a little younger than her, he tended to get shy at some points but once he got to know that she wouldn't judge him for who he is, he realized it's completely okay to open up to her. he likes to tease her and joke around. he also often has the urge to cheer her up with a hug though her hard times and tries to make her realize that she shouldn't blame herself for anything that's happened.

⇝how she acts around him; as usual she's reserved, although around him she's more talkative and careless. when it comes to her feelings, she doesn't want to tell him about her concerns the most because jungkook is one of the people she wouldn't want to hurt the most. however she always ends up telling him what bothers her because she just can't tell him no.

⇝relationship at the end; they're even closer than before because jungkook matured a little more and helped nayoon get rid of her regrets. they're an amazing couple who support each other as much as possible.
