  2.
  3. Note: Most notational methodology is future-proofing
  4.
  5. Costs: +10% for a redesign, +100% for a tested new build, +25% for untested new builds if you give reports, +50% for untested new builds if you give no reports, -75% for pre-existing experimental gear if you give reports, -50% for pre-existing experimental gear if you give no reports, percentages are additive.
  6.
  7. Weapons:
  8.
  9. Weapons are given in the form [Type Letter][Style Letter][Size Number], with a following A[Version Number] for revisions of the design. If the design ends in an X, it is experimental, and may not work as intended.
  10.
  11. Type letter can be a number of things, as noted below:
  12. L - Laser weaponry. Typically has high penetrative power but only medium damage. Further, range drop-off is noticeably greater in smaller weapon classes
  13. P - Plasma weaponry. Typically hits noticeably harder but has much reduced penetrative power.
  14. R - Radiation weaponry. Typically has pisspoor range but more or less ignores armour
  15. F - Flame weaponry. Just sets things the fuck on fire. Shit versus armour or at range, shitty damage, absolutely terrifying.
  16. S - Sonic weaponry. An oddity, this has garbage range, mediocre damage and only medium penetrative power but causes nausea and deafness in targets, making for an excellent non-lethal crowd control option.
  17. C - Cold weaponry. Another oddity, this is unaffected by armour but only causes damage by freezing people over and forcing them to not move. Can be lethal, but can also be used as an effective crowd control weapon.
  18. E - Electricity weaponry. A final oddity, this is essentially controlled arcs of lightning. Short range and next to no penetrative power, but arcs from target to target, ripping through unarmoured crowds with impunity.
  19. K - Kinetic. Does everything, but not necessarily at once. Also has limited ammo, whereas the others can use Zero Point Energy to essentially fire forever.
  20.
  21. Style letters are defined below:
  22. R - Repeater. A rotary-style weapon designed with high RoF and medium accuracy.
  23. S - Sniper. A single shot weapon with bolt action or smei-automatic rate of rife and very high range and accuracy.
  24. B - Burst. Essentially a shotgun, with multiple shots per trigger pull, inherent spread and very high range dropoff.
  25. L - Line. Fires a single continuous beam, with high damage, penetration, range and accuracy. Downsides involve it only being a single shot weapon, and the damage needing time to mount up.
  26. G - Grenade. A catch-all for high explosive launchers, with low RoF, medium-high range, and AoE on hit.
  27. M - Melee. Exactly what it says on the tin.
  28. D - Defensive. Shields and the like
  29.
  30. Size numbers are as below:
  31. 1 - Pistol scale. Small knives and all pistols from holdouts to chunky revolvers.
  32. 2 - SMG/Carbine scale. Machetes, uzis, MP5s and similar fit here.
  33. 3 - Assault Rifle/Short Sniper scale. Swords, shields, AR-15s, M4s, AK47s, and all Designated Marksman Rifles fit here.
  34. 4 - SAW/Sniper scale. Mauls, Dragunovs, LMGs, RPGs, essentially the top end of man portable weaponry.
  35. 5 - Vehicle mounted scale. At this point, it needs to be fitted on a drone or similar vehicle.
