Overview: The Eight Lucky Gods of Fortune are a group of Merge Modes of godly proportions with supreme power over luck, fortune, positive forces, holy powers, conceptual forces and good/positive versions of the Seven Deadly Sins (as well as an eighth one that’s usually left out). The Eight Lucky Gods of Fortune are all members of their own series known as the Divine Series and are guardians and patron deities that are at their most powerful when they are fighting for the specific group or concept they are associated with. Each of the Lucky Gods possess control over luck pertaining to a specific concepts unique to them, a holy/pure version of an element, their own Spirit Animal that bestows them unique abilities, the ability to use sorcery derived from Buddhist concepts of mysticism and their own signature weapon as well.

Description: Warlord Merge is a humanoid Merge Mode resembling a divine Oni with red skin, a gold eye, protruding fangs, two small horns on his forehead and dressed in samurai armor of a royal degree with a red, gold and green color scheme, designs of glaring eyes on multiple segments of his armor such as his chest plate and knee pads, a helmet/headpiece resembling an extravagant crown with eye designs and a large red flame floating above it, two additional flames floating above his shoulders and an orange Hagoromo floating behind his head with the two ends wrapped around his wrists. He wields his mighty, golden spear, the War Cross at all times.

  32. - Luck Manipulation - Warlord Merge possesses control and influence over luck associated with war and combat, giving him many capabilities such as War Manipulation, Combat Manipulation, Damage Manipulation, Destruction Manipulation, Weaponry Manipulation, Armor Manipulation, Forge Manipulation, Potential Realization/Maximization, Strategy Mastery, Absolute Combat etc. Warlord Merge is capable of manipulating and influencing lucky and fortunate events during any battle whether it’s against a single foe or an entire planet-scale war, allowing him to turn the tides of battle to his favor, give allies a last minute advantage in combat, allow a certain attack to be the finishing blow, cause enemy attacks to become less effective, make weapons/armor far stronger beyond what is expected etc. This applies to himself as well as Warlord Merge is a nearly immaculate warrior that is xtremely difficult to gain an advantage over when facing him in direct combat.

  37. - Spear Proficiency - Warlord Merge wields a Jūmonji Yari, a type of spear used in Feudal Japan possessing a cross-shaped blade and Warlord Merge possesses exceptional skill and prowess in using his spear in combat which he uses as a medium to channel and project his positive wrath and divine fire attacks as well, Warlord Merge can project exceptionally powerful attacks from his spear as a result.

  41. - Blind Rage - Warlord Merge can sometimes get carried away with his rage and cause decimation and destruction that he didn’t intend to, possessing incredible power that can easily be disastrously misused when in a state of blind, infernal rage, which he is prone to.

  45. - Warlord Merge is based on Bishamonten, one of the Seven Lucky Gods of Fortune, the God of War in Shinto and Japanese Buddhism and the patron deity of soldiers and samurai alike.

She also wears a traditional Japanese-styled robe/kimono over her shoulders instead of wearing it completely and has a yellow Hagoromo floating behind her head with the ends wrapped around her shoulders.   93. - Electropunk Merge is based on Benzaiten, one of the Seven Lucky Gods of Fortune and the Goddess of the Arts in Shinto and Japanese Buddhism. Benzaiten is typically depicted as possessing a traditional string instrument called the Biwa meanwhile Electropunk Merge has the more modern equivalent, an electric guitar and has a punk rock theme as a result.

Crawfish Merge wears a suit of armor with designs of ocean waves painted on, a braided rope Hachimaki (a headband worn by sushi chefs) with a matching Tsuna (a rope belt worn by high-ranking sumo wrestlers), an apron with designs of shrimps on them and a blue hagoromo behind his head with the ends wrapped around his wrists. Crawfish Merge wields a massive, golden fish hook which he carries on his back when not in use.

  129. - Luck Manipulation - Crawfish Merge possesses control and influence over luck associated with the ocean and fishing, giving him many capabilities such as Ocean Manipulation, Fish Manipulation, Wave Manipulation, Hook Manipulation, Rope Manipulation, Boat Manipulation, Whirlpool Manipulation, Sea Monster Manipulation etc. Crawfish Merge is capable of manipulating and influencing lucky and fortunate events in relation to oceans, sailing and fishing such as cancelling out a massive storm or tsunami, allowing for the acquiring of massive bounties of fish or a single, massive catch for survival purposes, sailing to a safe island environment much faster than expected etc.

  143. - Crawfish Merge is based on Ebisu, one of the Seven Lucky Gods of Fortune and the God of Fishermen in Shinto religion. Crawfish Merge resembling a humanoid shrimp is a pun on Ebisu’s name as “Ebi” is also the Japanese word for shrimp.

Description: Foodie Merge is a very fat and Buddha-like, female humanoid with green hair in a ear-length, bowlcut hairstyle, pink swirls on her chubby cheeks, large hands with pink nails, relatively short legs with old-fashioned shoes and wearing a robe similar to what a Buddhist monk would wear with a watermelon motif, being green and pink in coloration with a pattern similar to a watermelon’s rind and trimmings (collar and wrist sleeves) that are pink with black, seed-shaped spots and a green Hagoromo floating behind her head with the ends wrapped around her shoulders. She wields a wok and ladle at all times, said wok can increase in size at Foodie Mode’s command to fit her inside and be used as a platform to sit and hover around in.

  179. - Positive Gluttony Manipulation - Foodie Merge can harness the good and positive aspects of gluttony such as healing herself by eating, improve health and cure status ailments through eating, induce healthy appetites onto others, induce the drive to find/make good food in any environment and more. Foodie Merge can project, shape and manipulate Positive Gluttony Energy that takes the form of energy capable of consuming matter and energy similar to Gluttonize Merge (but much more powerful) and can project said energy to unique forms of attacks such as biting, bear trap-like jaw constructs.

Description: Seamstress Merge is a female humanoid dressed in a large, extravagant, penny lane coat that hides her legs with black buttons, a furred collar and furred wrists, the left side of the coat is red and the right side is purple, she also wears a scarf that covers where her mouth would be, black gloves, pink high heel shoes, a hat resembling a giant pin cushion covered in pin needles and an indigo Hagoromo behind her head and wrapped around her arms. Seamstress Merge wields a giant pin needle with a pink ribbon/bow above the eye of the needle at all times.

  382. - Positive Vanity Manipulation - Seamstress Merge can harness the good and positive aspects of vanity such as improving the state and quality of objects and other beings through a vanity-driven desire to augment such things. Seamstress Merge can project, shape and manipulate Positive Vanity Energy that takes the form of magical mirrors or mirror-based energy and can create mirrors to deflect attacks, protect herself and others, trap enemies, teleportation and creating reflection-based duplicates of enemies to fight for her as well as project “Mirror Energy” to a wide variety of different, powerful attacks.
  383. - Divine Ice Manipulation - Seamstress Merge can generate, shape and manipulate Divine Ice, mystical ice that embodies the good and positive aspects of the element of ice and Seamstress Merge can project divine ice to a wide variety of very powerful attacks that do critical damage to dark and evil beings/forces, create constructs out of divine ice, project divine ice in the shape of semi-sentient beings such as snakes and dogs and use divine ice to benefit allies such as literally freezing off status ailments and pain from an ally’s body.

  385. - Spirit Animal - Seamstress Merge has a powerful, mystical connection with a godlike spirit animal, The Snake and thus can evoke the power of the snake to achieve many powerful abilities such as summoning her spirit animal in the form of a giant Snake composed of snake energy, project snake energy to many powerful attacks, use Snake Magic and even transform into a snake or Snake Hybrid Form and use the strengths and abilities of the snake for herself, most notably Fang Manipulation, Venom Manipulation and Layer Removal.
  386. - Needle Proficiency - Seamstress Merge wields a giant needle and possesses exceptional skill and prowess in using this needle like a rapier in combat as well as a medium to channel and project their positive vanity, holy ice and magical attacks as well, Seamstress Merge can project exceptionally powerful attacks from her needle as a result.

  390. - Vain - Seamstress Mode’s vanity can sometimes come as a major detriment in battle, such as obsessing over her looks or the quality of her clothes/hair in favor of focusing in battle.
  391. - Lost contact with Weapon - Seamstress Merge uses her signature weapon as a medium to channel her power, leaving her drastically de-powered if said weapon is taken from her or even destroyed.

  394. - Seamstress Merge is based on Kisshōten, one of the Seven Lucky Gods of Fortune in certain circles, the goddess of beauty and fertility in Shinto and Japanese Buddhism and patron deity of women.
  395. - Depending on the region and denomination of Shinto, Kisshōten is sometimes switched out with either Jurōjin or Fukurokuju and they are typically the more well known Lucky Gods as a result which is why I chose Kisshōten to base a Lucky God Merge Mode on since I wanted to give her more attention.
  396. - Seamstress Merge also personifies Vanity, the eighth Deadly Sin, albeit a more positive and good twist on the concept. Vanity was left out as one of the deadly sins after Catholicism adopted the concept as it was believed that Pride and Vanity were one of the same. In this context, Vanity is defined as being incredibly shallow by obsessing over conventional beauty, both in terms of one’s beauty and determining the worth of others by their physical appearance, making it different from Pride, the false sense of one’s superiority over others.
  397. - Another theme that the Eight Lucky Gods share is that their Spirit Animals are based on animals associate with the Chinese Zodiac, such as the Snake in Seamstress Mode’s case.
  398. - Each of the Eight Lucky Gods are highly revered within Alloy’s Inner World where the Merge Modes live as sentient beings almost to the point of seeing them as actual gods and many Merge Modes are loyal followers of them as well, some of Seamstress Mode’s followers include Cutey Pie Merge, Tailor Merge, Pollen Merge, Arachnid Merge, Embroidery Merge, Beauty Merge, Origami Merge, Mirror/Reflection Merge, Hairum & Scarum Merge, Medusa Merge, Hormonal Merge and Lovesick Merge.
  399. - Seamstress Mode’s favorite food is Khao Niew Bing (Thai white rice cooked in coconut milk and wrapped in bamboo leaves).

  401. Overall Notes
  402. - The Lucky Gods are introduced in Alloy’s Inside Story and play a major role in it (and I’m still working on the full synopsis of that episode as well as the full synopsis of Best Frienemies). Their role being that they need to be rescued from imprisonment to fight against Tro-GEN as they possess the ability to free many Merge Modes from his control and empower them as well to fight against Tro-GEN and his army of Data Demons (monstrous beings composed of corrupted Merge Mode data created by Tro-GEN).
  403. - The Lucky Gods’ ability to augment other Merge Modes is utilized outside of Alloy’s Inner World via the use of Lucky Charms, special keychains resembling chibi versions of the Lucky Gods that Fusion-X can equip to enhance the abilities of the Merge Modes he transforms into. Onawa keeps these keychains in a special jewelry box possessing many compartments used to contain items that Fusion-X can utilize alongside the Fusion Crystals and the special candies that Dynosaur Merge uses to access forms. Lucky Charms were given to Nicholas by the Lucky Gods after the events of Alloy’s Inside Story.
  404. - Every single Merge Mode belongs to a Tribe and thus, can be enhanced by the Lucky Charms when they wear them or in proximity to Onawa when she wears them. Even high-ranking, Powerhouse series Merge Modes are aligned with certain Lucky Gods (but more along like the lines of a mutual relationship rather than looking up to them like other Merge Modes).
  405. - Aside from the previously mentioned Hotei, other deities that are sometimes depicted as Lucky Gods depending on certain denominations and cultural interpretations (as the concept of 7 Lucky Gods spans across Taoism, Shinto, Hinduism and Buddhism) are Tu Shen, the god of love and sex and patron deity of homosexual men, who is said to weave the Red String of Fate (a conceptual string that binds lovers and soulmates together) and is commonly associated with rabbits and hares, Luxing, the god of justice and patron deity of lawmakers and enforcers, and Jambhala, the god of gold and treasure and patron deity of gamblers and treasure hunters.
  406. - If I were to make these four leftover Lucky Gods into Merge Modes as well I think Hotei could be called Playful Merge, who’s abilities include Youth Manipulation, Friendship Manipulation, Fun Manipulation, Party Manipulation, Toy Manipulation, Game Manipulation, Music Manipulation, Pyrotechnics Manipulation etc., his holy element would be Divine Metal, his spirit animal would be The Dog and his signature weapon would be a pair of giant hand bells capable of powerful, resonating sound wave attacks and great concussive force. Tu Shen could be called Matchmaker Merge, who’s abilities include Love Manipulation, Lust Manipulation, Bond Manipulation, Friendship Manipulation, Social Interplay Manipulation, Sexuality Manipulation, Dream Manipulation etc., his holy element would be Divine Darkness, his spirit animal would be The Rabbit and his signature weapon would be a pair of Giant Scissors. Luxing could be called Discipline Merge, who’s abilities include Law Manipulation, Judgement Manipulation, Justice Manipulation, Order Manipulation, Censorship Manipulation, Abolishment, Personal Law etc., his holy element would be Divine Smoke, his spirit animal would be The Goat and his signature weapon would be a Monk Staff. Jambhala could be called Hoard Merge, who’s abilities include Treasure Manipulation, Treasure Arsenal, Gold Manipulation, Gemstone Manipulation, Personal Hoard, Casino Manipulation, Game Manipulation, Dice Manipulation, Card Manipulation, Monetary Manipulation, Value Boosting, Absolute Gambling etc., her holy element could be Divine Crystal, her spirit animal would be The Horse and her signature weapon(s) would be a pair of flails resembling giant, golden dice and a roulette wheel she uses as a shield. I don’t know what sins/vices they could possibly represent however (aside from Hoard Merge since her’s is obvious) which is the main thing preventing me from making these four official Lucky Gods in Fusion-X’s arsenal…

      1. That actually gives me a great idea for a group of Dark counterparts to the lucky gods based on the virtues, but like how the lucky gods are good versions of the deadly sins, their counterparts could represent dark versions of the virtues such as Temperance (opposite to Wrath) being taken too far to the point of being cowardly and ineffective by not being willingly to resort to violence in order to protect others. I’m going to have to really think about this concept and see if I can actually make some good Merge Modes out of it!
