- I'm 23M and have been saving up since I was 17 for a surgery called 'leg lengthening'. I'm short standing at 5'6 130lbs, and this surgery will give me an extra 4 inches. The technology has came really far and most people who get it from a reputable doctor usually fully recover and are able to live regular taller lives. Some suffer from lifetime complications, but it's rare if you use the right doctor. I'm honestly willing to take the risk regardless. I'm currently speaking to one of the top doctors and using the most efficient method to get it done - which is also the most expensive, costing around $80,000CAD.
- I currently have $84,500 saved up from 6 years of working and saving up for this exact reason. But I'm having second thoughts of paying it off upfront since I worked really hard for this money and didn't spend it on frivolous things like most people my age generally would. I don't want to be sitting at $4k after the surgery and was thinking if there was a way I could somehow finance a cosmetic surgery so I wouldn't have to pay such a large sum of money all at once.
- Also I've made up my mind that i'm going through with this procedure since this is exactly what I've been saving up for the past 6 years of my life. Some people might not understand but in my opinion it is similar to getting braces if you don't want crooked teeth, or how transgender folks get gender reassignment surgery so they can be happier. I'm doing this so I can ultimately be happier and more confident.
- If anyone has any insight if I could finance a cosmetic surgery it would be very helpful.
- I also currently have no expenses since I live with my parents still and don't pay rent and I have no other debt with excellent credit.
