Okay, so for cars
Basically, Russia has a bunch of near-wars, and people in border countries have fuck-all for resources cause the Russkies are putting a strain on their economy, so they need the cheapest car possible
enter the 1967 Trabant 2
-The Trabant 2 is light enough to be legally considered a street bike
-Used as a car by unlicensed gangbangers and people unable to get a license due to DUIs and shit
Their cheapness and ease of manufacture make them the perfect car for criminals, because you can just abandon it
-It is incapable of operating at temperatures higher than eighty degrees
-You have to crank start it
-It runs on either ethanol or lawnmower fuel
-The frame is hollow and instead of insulation there's just a shitton of packing peanuts and sometimes a wasp nest
-There was no point in giving it airbags because the dashboard just disintigrates into this pulpy plastic mush if it is hit with another car so you can't mount anything on it
-They all come with really ugly acid-green mudflaps that can't be removed
-It actually drives faster in reverse
-The Trabant II was built to be biodegradable. The problem is that some parts of it are TOO biodegradable- namely the windows, which are these gross yellowish plexi. They have this weird tendency to rot into this translucent sludge if kept in a too-damp environment.

Each year, a new model of the Trabant II is released. It's actually the same model as last year, but with one of the numbers scratched out and redrawn with sharpie.

Seeing the problems with the Trabant II, the Trabant 3 was released. Then things got worse.
-Using a magical hybrid fuel source, the Trabant 3 only has to stop to refuel every 75 miles.
-The engine vibrates with a resonance that tears open portals to the elemental plane of snakes.
-While the bear leather used for the seats feels amazing, the seats were installed backwards to take advantage of its speed in reverse.
-It has a refrigerator built into the back seat as a standard feature. Said refrigerator is powered by Brown Mold, and lowers the temperature in the car by a whopping 75 degrees.
-Smoking in the car causes the Brown Mold to double in size, engulfing the rear seats.
