  3. I do have a idea. It seems redundant however perhaps may be worth talking out to see if its worth any vaule to this nonsense.
  4. The biggest problem that has really divided the whole server is the rulesbook. Its been the problem since the start and it's caused too much grief and anger. Which is silly since this is all just a game.(edited)
  5. I hope you do not mind a spam wall of text but when I talk things out it makes it clearer for me to express what I wish to say.
  6. There is already a start of this which is interestingly enough...
  7. There is the core rules book which is open for everyone within the community and then the DS Classic stuff. Well these are just rules. What if perhaps Game masters sow their own rules book? Everyone has a different style and it is impossible to satisfy a single style to one particiular person. These inidividual rules books can be sowed in such a way that it can target a group of players for if they want to run a in server champagin. It can be for if they want in general for players to use or for other dm's to borrow.
  8.
  9. There would be a few things of course such as perhaps each character designed under a certain rule book of each individual gm can only do a certain number of functions by which can expand or limit to other player's characters that were created under other game master's rule books.
  10. This sounds like a lot of work, and I know its just a idea but I have a feeling that if its thought out a bit more then it might sufice. Perhaps player characters would be under different banners to make it simified. or maybe like "Guild house" such as "These are the game master rule books that my character works under."
  11. Then game masters can choose who they would allow on their table that are from under different rules sets.
  12. Under the game master biography of who they are what level range...blah blah blah...
  13.
  14. "I allow character creation rule books from, x, y, z to play on my table."
  15. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this dean.
  16. @Deanthelis I hope you do not mind this ping. I'm sorry but I feel a bit excited about this idea now.
  17. Deanthelis - Today at 6:38 AM
  18. It's interesting. However, it seems like it's too complex to implement for the average player.
  19. PaladinQueen - Today at 6:39 AM
  20. It is on the complex side and I am trying to think it through to simpifly it..
  21. Deanthelis - Today at 6:39 AM
  22. What I would do instead is.
  23. Have a single set of community rules, like we have now.
  24. Then, allow (but don't require) GMs to provide a list of exceptions to that ruleset
  25. Include a couple of people like me, ECloc, and Gun to help GMs work out the wording on things for those who need help
  26. PaladinQueen - Today at 6:41 AM
  27. Yes. Thats what I am going for...It could be just a core set..
  28. Deanthelis - Today at 6:41 AM
  29. When enough GMs make the same change, we update the base rules document
  30. PaladinQueen - Today at 6:43 AM
  31. The list of exceptions to those rules that game masters create for their own table could be like...(and Im using visuals) like a "guild house".
  32. I hope I am making some sense of this. It would be where different characters could fall under.
  33. For instance. I'll give a example.
  34. I've introduced BnB to a few of my friends. All of them think its really cool however they do not like the core rule book.
  35.
  36. However; They could look at the core rule book but then look at game master's specified rule book. "Oh he does 25 point buy? I think I'll give this place a try."
  37. Deanthelis - Today at 6:57 AM
  38. Yeah, that could work. It would, however, inherently limit table transferability
  39. PaladinQueen - Today at 6:57 AM
  40. Indeed.
  41. Deanthelis - Today at 6:57 AM
  42. The question here is, do we emphasize table transferability, or GM freedom
  43. I lean more to the former, generally
  44. Because as a GM, I'm willing to make sacrifices so that my players can have fun at more than just my table
  45. If we go too far with the latter, we aren't B&B anymore; we become Roll20
  46. If that makes sense
  47. PaladinQueen - Today at 7:00 AM
  48. It does make sense now that I see what you mean.
  49. Deanthelis - Today at 7:01 AM
  50. Despite Trajan's frequent and rather successful efforts the last thing I want to do is further fracture the community if I can help it
  51. Ultimately when that happens people fall through the cracks
  52. Like Red
  53. I'm still very upset that we lost him
  54. PaladinQueen - Today at 7:03 AM
  55. I am too, but hes not out of sight for me. I still got him on my random server I got.
  56. However it isn't like the whole place is already on fire anyways now.
  57. Deanthelis - Today at 7:13 AM
  58. You should explain this or just send logs of it to ecloc
  59. It's very likely that one of you two will win
  60. in fact, cooperating so that a vote for either of you is essentially a vote for the same thing
  61. is probably the best idea in this situation
  62. Compare notes and all that
  63. PaladinQueen - Today at 7:19 AM
  64. Good idea. Thanks.
