- Album: Alvvays: It's weird, I think Blue Rev was a massive step up for the band, but this album scores higher. Think the melodies here just so consistently kill, and its a perfectly brisk thirty minutes with every song being ace
- Adult Diversion: 10 The theme for weird lonely Molly guys everywhere
- Archie, Marry Me: 10 I don't watch or really care about Riverdale but how tf have they not used this song in any capacity. Like I know most people would say "thank god for that" and you're 100% correct, but still. Life handed those writers a wide open layup and they double dribbled
- Ones Who Love You: 9 I want to eat these guitar tones whole
- Next of Kin: 10 Energetically dancing to the allegedly about Molly's dad's death song
- Party Police: 11 Gonna go full 2010s Tumblr fangirl for a moment to say the brief pitch shift in the final "you don't have to leave / you cOULd just stay here with me" turns me absolutely feral
- The Agency Group: 9 Alvvays know when I look outside the window on a cloudy day I don't wanna be bored in my brooding
- Dives: 7 So pretty
- Atop a Cake: 10 Oh, so now you're all "don't marry me, Archie" huh. Anyway this bangs in the whip, when they played this live I think I audibly screamed
- Red Planet: 7 If this album is great staring out the window music then I'm glad we got one for once we get to space
- Album: How to Leave Town: Truly the most introspective, in that I don't want to play this with anybody else in the room, but alone with just a little light peeking behind the blinds? This mf hittin
- The Ending of Dramamine: 10 Oh wait, it actually is about the Modest Mouse song? Well hell, that's at least worth an extra point. Is what I would say if I didn't already give it a ten
- Beast Monster Thing (Love isn't Love Enough): 10 Don't know if I like seeing any bits of myself in this tbh
- Kimochi Warui (When? When? When? When? When? When? When?): 8 Person who idol worships Will, Molly, Mitski, and/or Jbrekkie: I pretend I do not hear it
- I-94W (832 mi): 7 Instrumentals to travel the cosmic highways to (hey Wane, is this ambient?)
- You're In Love With Me: 10 Please pretend I posted the entire "Pwease help mr obama i'm drowning pwease I'll do anything for you mr obama :3" "Then perish 😒" meme
- America (Never Been): 9 The slight bit where the synths start had me worried, but thankfully it fights its way back
- I Want You To Know That I'm Awake/I Hope That You're Asleep: 10 Lanky? Like, the Kong?
- is this dust really from the Titanic?: 6 Imagining puke in the car cup holder and shuddering tbh
- Hey, Space Cadet (Beast Monster Thing In Space): 10 Oh nice, they made a sequel to Beast Monster Thing? Usually they wait until like the fourth one before they go to space. Fast & the Furious needed like nine before they sent Ludacris up. Anyway this was a firm 8 until the ending, holy moly that hits the spot
- Album: Soft Sounds from Another Planet: Very different and very good part of her main album catalogue. Probably would wreck me on a super late night drive, which is one of the highest compliments I can give
- Diving Woman: 8 Girl where are you going with this many dead dogs
- Road Head: 10 Music for those lonely, middle of the night, the road stretches endlessly into the dark type rides
- Machinist: 9 Is Jbrekkie about to fuck a robot
- Planetary Ambience: 6 More ambienthead representation? In my official indieheads rate?
- Soft Sounds from Another Planet: 7 A bit mixed on her vocals but the instrumentation is nice. Always a sucker for some lap steel
- Boyish: 7 Great background vocals
- 12 Steps: 10 Fantastic, well-timed change of pace makes me score this a lot higher than I probably would on its own tbh
- Jimmy Fallon Big!: 7 Who we all got as the late night host 11? Gotta go with pre-Tonight Show Conan
- The Body is a Blade: 10 Just a straight stunner, an out of body experience, blade songs now two for two in rates this year
- Till Death: 8 Maybe the most lovely song to contain the lyrics "PTSD, anxiety / Genetic disease, thanatophobia"
- This House: 8 Was just okay on it til the piano came in, like man, those keys got me
- Here Comes the Tubular Bells: 6 Tazz calling a Brock Lesnar match voice: Well, here comes the tubular bells
- Album: Bury Me at Makeout Creek: Love the writing, really carries the album and makes me get how people go wild for Mitski
- Texas Reznikoff: 7 This is resonating a bit because it's also beautiful out today but my ear hurts so I've just been in bed watching March Madness with a headache 😞
- Townie: 9 Killer coming of age tune
- First Love/Late Spring: 10 Mitski going two for two now on awesome instrumental bridge switch-ups
- Francis Forever: 10 Is this Bubblegrunge!? Eh, not really. Love this melody though
- I Don't Smoke: 6 Rock trap beat. That doesn't make sense I don't even know what I'm commenting anymore sorry Dachi
- Jobless Monday: 5 Mitski hates Mondays, big Garfield energy
- Drunk Walk Home: 7 I'm kicking doors down but I'm sad about it
- I Will: 9 Did stans hear these kind of lyrics throughout and take the wrong message of "time to be emotionally co-dependent on my mother Mitski" cause I'm getting those vibes
- Carry Me Out: 9 Wish I could flip a switch and turn the sky to night and turn off all the nearly lights so I can see the stars to this. Also wish it wasn't 30 degrees Fahrenheit so I could go outside in my current clothes for more than a minute. You hear me Lord, just give me weather powers for at least four minutes so I can hear Carry Me Out in its ideal conditions
- Last Words of a Shooting Star: 7 Great job of keeping my attention with just voice and lyrics
- BONUS TRACKS
- Harvey: 5 A little like Sarah, but not a smasha. Good use of "big boys" though
- Unfucktheworld: 7 Noooo the world was the perfect level of fucked why would you do that Angel
- Jeannie Becomes A Mom: 8 Dangerously close to meh commercial-core type sound, but manages to pull up
- Why Do You Feel So Down: 7 2010s festival indie pop (simultaneously complimentary & derogatory)
- Sure: 7 In true Hatchie fashion this will probably grow on me a little after like four plays
- How Simple: 10 This is my bonus 11, can put this on at any time and it just elevates me. An all-timer sing out loud and jump around indie rock climax
- Pull It Together: 8 Oooh, started out low, but a good ass chorus keeps it afloat long enough to turn me around on it
- Take Off Ur Pants: 9 Hey, this was actually in consideration for the bubblegrunge bonus rate. Great song, and greater news, I'm already not wearing pants! Already one step ahead
- Sprained Ankle: 10 Pretty sure my brother won't have time to do this rate, but at the time he said this is probably his 11 (let him have this), so this score's for him (it does actually deserve a great score though)
- I Don't Wanna Be Funny Anymore: 8 Me when I'm tired of trying to get banners in popheads reveals
- Waiting Room: 7 Realized this wasn't on the playlist so I looked up the song title and had the brief moment of "FUGAZI'S IN THIS RATE!?" Anyway if I was making an IIP ballot and also had a job scoring a coming of age story I'd be taking crazy notes throughout the entire rate
- Passing Out Pieces: 8 Love Mac being in this rate lmao. Big "comes up late with a lit cigarette in their mouth and switches up the vibe for better and worse" energy
- Seventeen: 10 Undeniable.
- I Eat Salads Now: 8 Twee as hell, should really finish this album sometime
- Don't Delete the Kisses: 10 Popheads fuming they can't 11 this right now
- END
