  1. Honesty is important to me and it always has been. It's the foundation of my relationship with my girlfriend of three years. We always say what's on our minds even if it makes the other person cry but I feel like I somehow might have taken it too far. Basically something about AOC came up on the news the other day and I offhandedly muttered how she's a baddie and in the interest of honesty I wasn't just talking about her progressive politics.

  3. My girlfriend who doesn't even vote in primaries got all weird about it and was like what's so great about her so I told her. The thing is, I'm the type of guy who falls in love with bartenders, and I think my girlfriend could see that, because by the end of it she was in tears. But like I said we're honest to each other.

  5. So she kept asking questions. And I answered them truthfully. It culminated with her asking me if I had a chance with AOC if I would leave her and I said on the midnight train, it's not everyday you get a chance with the youngest woman ever elected to Congress and my girlfriend got all pouty and was like I could serve in Congress and I laughed and said you don't even know what the Affordable Care Act is.

  7. She comes out of left field with some bullshit about how it's creepy that I'm always tweeting at her and I was like sorry I'm tweeting at an elected official about actual issues instead of some random internet personality about the Bachelorette and it pretty much blew up from there.

  9. She left and I don't know if she's coming back. How can I even mend this? Is there a way? I know I didn't do anything out of line but apparently I struck some deep insecurity within her from the way she was crying. Should I even try to get her back or should I just take it as a sign and actually try to slide into AOC's DMs?

  11. tl;dr: Told my girlfriend what I find attractive an outstanding congresswoman, she left me
