      JI — Growing up, Jiyeong was given this nickname in order to shorten his name under the claims that his full name was awkward to say. He never really questioned it and continues to allow people to call him by the nickname.
      MOMO — Jiyeong‘s neighbor growing up gave him this nickname while they still lived across from each other. In her words, “It’s cute and short, just like you Momo!”. At first, he was put off by the cuteness of the name but it eventually grew on him. Not many people call him this nowadays because it’s derived from his last name and he isn’t exactly going around telling everyone of this nickname.
      YEONGIE — This is actually a nickname his parents and older sister started calling him. There’s no particular reason as to why they started doing so, Jiyeong’s only knowledge being that they’ve called him it since he was a baby.
      HAMSTER — It’s no surprise that Jiyeong gained this nickname. With a love for food and a slight resemblance to the cute rodent, his classmates decided that “Hamster” was an appropriate nickname. He never protested it seeing as it was better than other teasing nicknames he was given but this is definitely not something he mentions for people to call him by.
      PIP — “Pip” is a nickname that derived from one of the many teasing nicknames given to Jiyeong. During his schooling in Busan, a group of students took to calling him “pipsqueak” because of his short stature and pacifist approach, both of which made him weaker in their eyes. He despised and continues to despise being called that because of the relentless teasing that followed. When he moved to Seoul, some people started calling him “pipsqueak” but in a joking manner though that didn’t make him any more appreciative of it. Luckily, when he and his demon weapon became acquainted, the younger male, seeing his discomfort with being called “pipsqueak”, changed the nickname up for him to “Pip”. Because of this, he’s typically the only person who calls him this though other people have been known to do so.

BACKGROUND |
      Mo Jiyeong was born in Busan, South Korea to Mo Kangmin and Mo Yubin, an accountant and his meister wife. With a caring but reserved older sister, doting parents, and a nice house, anyone looking in from the outside could easily say that Jiyeong’s childhood was ideal and maybe even luxurious. Although, Jiyeong himself can only partially agree.
      Seemingly from day one, Jiyeong’s mother trained him alongside his sister in hopes they’d one day be like her: a meister, a strong one at that. She wanted her children to be strong and skilled enough to handle their demon weapons, if they had one. You see, Jiyeong understood his mother’s intentions though he couldn’t find it in him to agree. He never enjoyed the training sessions with his mother and sister, even though he loves both of them dearly. He just doesn’t like violence, period. End of story. If there’s a better, calmer way to solve an issue, you can guarantee that he’d take that route rather than resorting to harming someone.
      This pacifistic mindset made Jiyeong unpopular in school. He was often the center of jokes among his classmates and found himself defenseless against their taunts when they weren’t put off by his attempts at using words to diffuse the situation. His aversion to violence led to the incident that caused his family to up and move to Seoul for his sake. It was his second to last year in his elementary school before he moved up to middle school. Some of the “bad” kids in the school had been picking on a quiet boy from his class as he was passing by. Unable to just ignore it, he got himself involved, non-violently of course, but this didn’t go over well with the bullies. They instead turned their attention to him but, instead of just teasing him, they hit and threw stuff at him for “ruining their fun” and “looking like a weak girl”. It wasn’t too big of deal until it became an almost daily routine. One day, he couldn’t stand it any longer and fought back, leaving all of them scared and three of the them injured. While his parents praised him for sticking up for himself, the school wasn’t impressed and took initiative to expel him.
      After Jiyeong’s dad convinced his firecracker mother to not sue the school, the family moved to Seoul for a fresh start. He was nervous to be starting school in the middle of the year but, admittedly, it felt nice to go to a school where no one knew him. He’d be able to make new friends and create a new image for himself. Little did he know, his parents (read: his mother) had ulterior motives to bringing the family all the way to Seoul.
      Mo Yubin wasn’t pleased when her eldest child struggled to find a demon weapon who was compatible with her but there was no way she’d let her son go unmatched. Taking matters into her own hands, she got into contact with the Seon family, a family notorious for being compatible with her own in terms of wavelengths. Under the guise of wanting a fresh start for Jiyeong, she moved the family all the way to Seoul to be closer to them. Yubin was quick to get her family settled before dragging them all to meet her “close friends”.
      The day Jiyeong met his future demon weapon is a day he’ll never forget. Not because it was amazing or heartwarming or anything like that. Oh, no, he’d never forget that day because he embarrassed the hell out of himself. Long story short, having the younger male walk in on him trying to steal some dessert, only to scare and make him knock it off the counter, was not the way he wanted to meet him. While it was extremely embarrassing, the two of them became inseparable after that. They became a package deal: you ask for one and the other is right there with him. This became a source of frustration for teachers seeing as Jiyeong became quite the chatterbox with his best friend around. Their closeness didn’t change as they got older. In fact, they only got closer as they finally started tentatively training as meister and demon weapon.

PERSONALITY |
     Jiyeong is best described as an ambivert. He enjoys trying new things and meeting new people but he can only handle so much before he wants to be left alone. Meeting new people and trying to new things excites him yet exhausts him at the same time. He’ll be more than happy to jump in on a conversation and make himself the center of attention though you can guarantee he’ll need to curl up for much-needed cuddles or alone time afterwards. He’s a very laidback person and tends to just go with the flow, tending to just let other people take charge. Although, don’t mistake his laidback persona as apathetic. He loves spontaneous outings and making in-the-moment choices that will make for good memories.
      Most people who see Jiyeong instantly think he is cute, from the way he talks to the way he behaves. While his manner of speaking is indeed cute, he’s quite blunt and over-earnest so his words are usually painfully honest (and borderline rude) but sugarcoated with his sweet tone and boyish looks. Most people don’t usually realize he insulted them because of the bright smile he sends their way. Don’t get him wrong though, he has good intentions but, sometimes, his words don’t help to get that across. People who know him have learned to not get offended but those who don’t find themselves put off by his words. Jiyeong, knowing of his lack of skill with words, usually ends up spluttering and quickly trying to clear up the misunderstanding he brought on.
      Despite being born into a fairly wealthy family, Jiyeong is as humble and kind-hearted as they come. He has never been one to flaunt about his belongings or accomplishments and loves giving things to people, often surprising his friends with small gifts. Although, the one thing he has no problem bragging about it his demon weapon. He loves showing him off, both as a weapon and as a person, and is sure to let people know that he is his. People often find themselves shocked as to how smug and proud the usually kind-hearted boy becomes about BORN SINNER.
      Another aspect about Jiyeong that isn’t too surprising is how emotional he is. When he feels something, he feels it with his whole being. He follows his heart over his mind and lets his emotions guide him. He’s extremely empathetic and always keeps an understanding, open-minded outlook when approaching people. If he’s being completely honest, he hates how his emotions influence him as well as how strongly he feels them. He’d much rather be able to shrug off insults instead of nearly crying. Although, as he’s gotten older, he’s learned to accept this part of himself and better reign in his emotions so he doesn’t display them as openly or intensely.

      - His hair is naturally curly but he often tries to straighten it because he’s not particularly fond of it.
      - He is diabetic so he doesn’t eat a lot of sweets but, when he does, he often finds himself needing to lie down so he doesn’t faint. Every time his demon weapon catches him devouring sweets, there’s always a comment on Jiyeong’s lack of self-preservation.
      - He doesn’t wear tank tops or v-necked shirts because of a large birthmark that covers most of his left shoulder and part of the left side of his chest.
      - He doesn’t really like mochi because of the chewiness but he sometimes enjoys eating it when he craves something sweet.
      - It’s a bad idea to hand him a drink with ice in it because he will eat all of ice.
      - Out of everyone in his family, he talks with his dad the most because of their similar, laidback personalities. Although, he spends the most time with his older sister, Solji, who is in college.
      - He loves food so much and never passes it up but he hates when people comment on his weight. It makes him feel self-conscious even though most of it is muscle because his body burns calories pretty quickly.
      - He a huge movie nerd and always goes to see new movies whenever they come out, no matter how busy he is.
      - Thanks to being trained from a young age, he’a developed the ability of extreme flexibility. He calls it his “party trick” and happily busts into the splits to impress others.
      - Jiyeong hates caffeinated drinks with his entire being but he has no issue downing two five-hour energy drinks when he has a paper due.
      - Most people have cats or dogs as childhood pets but he had a guinea pig named Max. The guinea pig has long since passed but Jiyeong keeps a framed photo of him holding Max on his dresser.

FEARS/DISORDERS/TRIGGERS |
      - For some reason unbeknownst to Jiyeong, he has a deathly fear of water, bodies of water to be more precise. He absolutely cannot take baths, be near pools, the ocean, or any other body of water unless he wants to fall into a panic attack. He doesn’t mind showers or rain but anything that could cause him to be submerged in water is off limits.
      - Jiyeong is very scared of pain. This partially goes along with his dislike of violence. He doesn’t like being or feeling hurt in any way, shape, or form and wouldn’t wish it upon anyone. He worries not only for himself but for other people when it comes to anything that could even possibly cause pain.

OTHER FACTS |
      - Jiyeong’s main hobby is gardening. He absolutely loves taking care of plants and watching them grow and thrive.
      - He has a bad habit of popping his joints but he only ever does it if he’s nervous.
      - He enjoys watching movies and is sure to collect physical copies of his favorite ones. He has two entire bookcases full of movies in his family’s home.
      - He has a habit of tugging at his curls whenever he’s tired or bored. It’s something that his friends and family find very cute but they never speak up about it in fear that he’ll stop.
      - He’s a genius at math and has a special talent of being able to name 84 numbers of pi.

STRENGTHS |
      - His ability to take a diplomatic approach to different situations is a strength brought on by his dislike for violence. He can be quite persuasive and reasonable when it comes to diffusing a situation with words.
      - His physical strength is definitely a strength of his. His mother has trained him for as long as he can remember to be a finely tuned meister in all ways possible. He may look small and harmless but he can take you down in five seconds and find thirty ways to make your death look like an accident.
WEAKNESSES |
      - His emotions are a huge weakness for
him. As stated, he feels things intensely and openly and this causes him to think more with his heart rather than his head. He puts others before himself and would rather let himself be hurt than let others be hurt.
      - Another of Jiyeong’s weaknesses is his left wrist. He almost broke it during training when he was a kid and, because of this, it is the weakest of his limbs. If he overuses or puts too much strain/pressure on it, it starts aching painfully and becomes immobile due to the muscle locking up.
