It's a day like any other in Tokyo, cars go their own way and people enjoy the summer's heat, a small kid on the shoulders of his dad sees the Tokyo Dome and for but a moment he sees it on fire.
This is because there is a place that very few know of, an hidden arena.
This is the Holy Place of Fighting.
In the 6th underground floor of the Tokyo Dome a small arena stands. An arena that refuses any sort of public recognition, yet is home to true fighting.
There a man that loves fighting more than any other thing has organized a tournament.
Mitsunari Tokugawa, a small bald man that appears as any other old man of Japan, but when one talks about fighting there is no other man on the planet that knows more than him, some say that he has memorized everything from weight to blood type of the true fighters of the world, his passion and resources for this obsession seem to never end.
On the 10th night of the month of June of the year 19XX Tokugawa has organized a fighting tournament, one that builds on the shoulders of ancient Pankration, here 16 contestants will compete. Not for money, only for the title and honour that comes with this victory, because in this fateful night the strongest man on the planet shall be revealed!
This is the Maximum Tournament.
The fighters are ready in the common room, Tokugawa approaches the microphone and asks aloud "Do you want to see the strongest man alive!?" the spectators roar "I'm the same! Bring in the fighters!"
One by one they are called by the announcer.

Jurota Arashiyama, from the Temple of Brihari. Shall he break his vows this night?
Juba Kenjiru of the Kenjiru-style jujutsu. He holds the dark primate of greatest number of closed dojos!
Jeremiah Irving, Master of Chinese Kenpō. Despite being from Europe he is a true master!
Ambros Ludwig, True German Wrestler. A beast of a man!
Leon Arrim, pit fighter with unknown history. Seeking a true fight!
Vichit Supachai, the top fighter from Australia. Despite his wounds he still fights like a madman!
Baritharn Yoonim, Muay thai true heir. He shall hold nothing back!
Luo Yaozu, the Living Weapon. So stong we literally couldn't refuse him!
Brelgir, the Berserker. A man's man, we had to convince him not to bring his axe.
Koshi Rong, Pe̍h-ho̍h-kûn Master. Despite the appearance he doesn't shy away from fighting and is here!
Daniel Boyd, MMA Champion from Canada. He came all the way down here just to fight! A crazy beast!
Akira Yamada, from the Divine Shrine of Aomori. Does this schoolboy wants to gift his girlfriend a wonderful belt?
Kestutis Klapeidas, the Triple Heavyweight Champion. Surely to be the strongest here!
Enkidu, the Ancient One. A literal living legend, there are none like him!
Jeremiah Dempsy, of the Dempsy MMA Style. A cyborg master of great renown!
Evan Mouette, Aikidō Expert. He wants to show everyone the future of martial arts!

After a pause the layout of the tournament was shown to all. [see pic]
"Now come forth Kenjiru and Boyd!"
But already at the start there is a problem, while Kenjiru is present in his side of the ring on the other side there is a man with a plastic bag kinda confused.
Tokugawa rumbles "who the hell are you and what are you doing here!?" but the young man isn't given a chance to anwser, instead it's the technical announcer master of jujutsu Motobe Izou that explains "Tokugawa, this man defeated mr. Boyd in 20 seconds flat, I've seen it with my eyes"
Everyone is silent for a moment, Tokugawa himself is left speechless for but quickly regains his composure "Very well then, you shall compete in his stead then, what is your name young fighter?" "They call me Johnny and if possible I would prefer to no-" but before he can finish his sentence the old man screams "Then FIGHT!" while thinking to himself that there can't really be any delay or problems, not in the first round.
The two fighters are called at the centre and explained the rules "Everything besides the use of weapons is permitted", after that the two men take their positions on the two sides of the ring.
