To Deathbasket,

Thanks a lot for reaching out.

I understand the desire to play on an Everdrive or flash cart, especially as a means to play PAL or NTSC in another region, as this has been discussed thoroughly in the Goldeneye community. With an Everdrive though, you can hack the game just like you are using a Gameshark. In Goldeneye, there are some instances of RNG (1 in 7 or 1 in 9 things) that you could memory hack and get 100% of the time by using a Gameshark or Everdrive. Simply play off stream, get the PB you want with this benefit, and no one will be the wiser. That's why we had to ban Everdrive. Likewise in Mario Golf, you can EASILY hack the game so that you always have favourable wind and rain on some key holes, like TH #3, BV #7, MS #17, and no one would be any the wiser. This is why we cannot allow Everdrive in Mario Golf (and it's actually good that we're deciding these things now as a young community rather than later when it affects more people.) And more importantly the assumption that you had been playing on Everdrive all along is why we ignored your runs.

Ocarina of Time is very much it's own thing. They've opened Pandora's Box a long time ago to allow pretty much any version of the game, including emulators, and that's why no one blinked an eye at you running it on Everdrive. There too though you could memory hack favourable bomb drops and other stuff, so imo it shouldn't be permitted, (but I'm in no place to make that call.)

I believe your claims and support your competition. I'll await more analysis and response from Pixels and his friends as they're the ones who initially found the Everdrive screens. But in any case it's good that you've reached out and explained yourself.

I hope everything gets sorted, the outcome discovers you're legitimate and that we can have fruitful competition over the next little while. Some 4 way races in showcase style on stream would be pretty insane to watch. And a bigger 2015 World Series with 2 rounds of playoffs would be cool too.

Best regards,
