My mission for the Pope required me to uncover the secrets of the Mongol Empire's strength. The treasure houses were an obvious place to look.

'Emperor proved easy to persuade. He sent a guard into the treasure house with me, but he was there to stop me stealing gold and silver, not information...'

I found a trove of documents in the Emperor's library. They detailed logistics for the movement of its army: provisioning, weaponry, and so on, in terrifying detail. It was clear that the Great Horde was not content with its boundaries. They aimed to expand in all directions, especially West.
